Was a committed dog lover. She died, (14 but ready and peaceful.
We had a cat too, a gorgeous ginger boy who is the epitome of cat hood. He was very much our son’s cat though and just about tolerant of the rest of the family. He would probably win prizes in the perfect specimen if a snooty cat competition were held (if he felt so inclined that day).
At the behest of the kids (adults, but in these past crappy 18 months still our kids) who were bereft when we lost our stalwart dog and couldn’t comprehend another, we adopted two kitten sisters from our local rescue.
They’ve changed my life., I didn’t know cats could be this way! They clearly love each other. Shadow each other through the day and sleep together at night (with us, on our bed - tries to contain excitement) They follow me about the house and garden, even more so than our beloved Ruby dog ever did.
She would without doubt approve of them.
I’m smitten. Seems they are too. Adopt sickly kittens from a colony. They will love you forever.
Sorry about that (what’s the positive word for?) rant. Just can’t express strongly enough what they’ve brought to our lives.
Would post photos but don’t know how.
