So the previous thread is nearly full up.

Wanna start this new one?

Lasagne, garlic bread and wine.

Tell me about your pets?

MrsSkylerWhite · 17/09/2021 20:59

Was a committed dog lover. She died, (14 but ready and peaceful.
We had a cat too, a gorgeous ginger boy who is the epitome of cat hood. He was very much our son’s cat though and just about tolerant of the rest of the family. He would probably win prizes in the perfect specimen if a snooty cat competition were held (if he felt so inclined that day).

At the behest of the kids (adults, but in these past crappy 18 months still our kids) who were bereft when we lost our stalwart dog and couldn’t comprehend another, we adopted two kitten sisters from our local rescue.

They’ve changed my life., I didn’t know cats could be this way! They clearly love each other. Shadow each other through the day and sleep together at night (with us, on our bed - tries to contain excitement) They follow me about the house and garden, even more so than our beloved Ruby dog ever did.

She would without doubt approve of them.

I’m smitten. Seems they are too. Adopt sickly kittens from a colony. They will love you forever.

Sorry about that (what’s the positive word for?) rant. Just can’t express strongly enough what they’ve brought to our lives.

Would post photos but don’t know how.

MrsSkylerWhite · 17/09/2021 21:01

Just realised this was the ask the question thread.

So sorry, got totally carried away (what’s the embarrassed emoji?
That, anyway.

MrsSkylerWhite · 17/09/2021 21:05

My question?

Obviously. Cats or dogs?

PopsicleHustler · 17/09/2021 21:23

Dogs.

I had a border collie called Ben, growing up. He was the sweetest boy. My dad took him with him when he divorced my mother and moved up north.

Having a favourite child, ridiculous or fine?

MydogWillow · 18/09/2021 08:13

The qualities of one may be favoured more than another at different times of their development and I think most parents would admit to favouring one at certain times but not one over the other as a whole.

Favourite day of the week and why?

PalacesOfMontezuma · 18/09/2021 10:57

Sundays.
Saturdays both kids have clubs then we seem to always have something else to rush to or a ton of housework and errands to catch up on. But Sundays are usually either a nice relaxed day out just us, visiting my parents, or a chilled day at home.

What's your job, if you have one, and do you enjoy it?

MakeMineAdoubleChocolate · 18/09/2021 11:36

I work for a brand on their online shopping website, promoting their sales and products on social media. I very much enjoy it and have done this since the end of 2018, before that I was a stay at home and still am working from home whilst looking after a baby and a 3 year old.

What is the one thing you will NEVER EVER eat?

Mine is pork

PopsicleHustler · 18/09/2021 11:39

Same. Pork. Its absolutely gross and I dont know how people love it so much. Sausages are made out of the entire pig being put through a machin and mashed up. Absolutely disgusting, so thats its anus, testicles, brains, stomach contents etc. It is so gross.

everywhichway · 18/09/2021 11:40

Far more than just one thing! Offal, shellfish, all sorts of red meat and Coriander to name just a few!

What 1st world problems are you wrestling with at the moment?

I am guessing you are muslim. Same here. Even before I converted to Islam, I didn't eat pork as so many of my friends were Muslim. And one day, I just asked her why don't you guys eat pork and she said because pigs eat their own poo. I literally wanted to chuck up. She then asked me have you heard the term, happy as a pig in s*. I was like wow. I then researched it and found out that pigs do eat their own poo, as well as other pigs poo and I even saw a video with A pig drinking the urine straight out of a pig as it came out. They also would eat other dead pigs and even try to eat piglets. They also have tapeworm and hepatitis. The list goes on. It's forbidden in both the Quran and the bible. Ham, itself is made from a pigs backside. Also, flies land on the poo so when the pig injests it, he is also eating maggots which live inside the pig. So your bacon sandwich is maggots, pig fat, poo, tapeworm. Several experiments were conducted on YouTube and if you pour coca cola on raw pork, it causes the naghitsto rise, still alive. I don't know how people eat it, the same of it cooking in cafes makes me want to chunder.
I honestly ask anyone to research it for themselves. There are countless videos on YouTube about pigs being so dirty and why Muslims don't eat them.

PopsicleHustler · 18/09/2021 11:53

My first world problem is what to cook tonight or order something since I have a stinking head cold runny eyes and streaming nose and really dont feel up to cooking.

Absolutely spot on about the pork, double chocolate.

If you could win a makeover for any room in your house, what room would you choose and what would you do?

kissmelittleass · 18/09/2021 12:13

I've recently updated most of my house so before it would of been the kitchen but now it would be the utility room , it needs shelves, more cupboards, some sort of storage space and a sink, at the moment it's all over the place!

Have you modernised any rooms in the house recently and what did you do?

PalacesOfMontezuma · 18/09/2021 16:07

We've just had our loft converted to a master bedroom and en suite. It's a big, airy room with a juliet balcony and a gorgeous green view. It's so calming. The en suite has a big walk in rainforest shower and underfloor heating. I love it so much.

Favourite animated film?

kissmelittleass · 18/09/2021 19:24

Frozen

What do you watch on YouTube?

PopsicleHustler · 18/09/2021 21:05

Carpetbagger. I love his videos. He goes round different places in USA. Museums , attractions, zoos, unique places etc. Its great because I love going out to museums etc and because of covid, we haven't so I watch his videos instead.

Worst and best day out you ever had?

lightand · 19/09/2021 19:35

Worst - went on a boat trip off Corsica. The tour guide said other boats had not gone out that afternoon because it was too windy/bad conditions. She only told us this when we were back near port.
Thought I was going to drown[may have been a tad dramatic on my part!].

Best - been struggling with that one. My wedding, if that counts?

Which place are you next hoping to visit?

PalacesOfMontezuma · 19/09/2021 20:46

Local-ish - Tower of London. My son should have had a school trip there over a year ago but Covid put paid to that and he's desperate to go. I went on a primary school trip there myself and thought it was just the most amazing place ever so I want to share it with him.

More exotic - I want to take the kids to Sri Lanka, where DH and I honeymooned, and I'd also really like to go to Iceland.

Favourite book/author from your childhood?

MrsSkylerWhite · 19/09/2021 20:50

What Do People Do All Day?, Richard Scarry.

Absolute favourite film of all time?

kissmelittleass · 19/09/2021 21:26

Probably The Hangover

Have you ever been on tv and if so what show was it?

Timeisavirtue · 19/09/2021 22:33

Nope never been on tv, I’m far too shy for that.... I have however had filming crew at my house as my mum was on tv... had Dom and John tickle.... very lovely guys, I was leaving for work and had a little chat with them before I left.

If you could appear in any tv or film what would it be?

Mariell · 20/09/2021 22:25

The African Queen as the lead - Rose Sayer.

You get called in as an emergency supply teacher! What subject do you teach the children?

MrsSkylerWhite · 20/09/2021 22:44

English literature.

Worst restaurant you have ever been to and why???

LaBellina · 21/09/2021 05:22

A slice of cheese cake or a chocolate cookie.

Speaking of which, how many times per week do you ‘allow’ yourself cookies, sweets, crisps etc. so basically unhealthy treats?
