Huge fan of this app - friend told me about it over lockdown and after I'd had my first "magic bag" I was hooked! The basic idea is that you pay for a lucky bag of food from a local retailer which would otherwise have gone in the bin. Picked up a bag from a M&S petrol station shop last night, cost me £4, got two large packs of salmon, two panini wraps, two packs of sandwiches, a side salad, a bag of mixed veg, and a pack of melon. Greggs also do bags which the kids enjoy - most of the bags we've had from there have a couple of the bakes, sausage rolls, cakes, pastries.

Yes it's all short-dated, yellow sticker stuff but lots can be frozen. Or eaten the next day. Definitely worth looking at if you're flexible about what you eat. Lots of restaurants do it too, although pick up times can be much later in the evening.

Any other fans???

I’ve bagged a Morrison’s for tomorrow, never had one before so quite excited!

Bagged double bubble Greggs and Costa today (they are 50m apart) - costa was 2 toasties, one paying, vegan bacon roll, sandwich triple and cookie.

Greggs was two filled rolls (one vegan), two custard slices, four doughnuts and four cookies.

V happy for a fiver. Shame that teen ds has gone to uni!

I've been using TGTG for about 18 months, I just do groceries. Haven't had a bag for ages but I'm trying a new londis on my way to school today.
We are going to Bath in a couple of weeks, ive got some bakeries earmarked

I was very lucky with my first Morrison’s box. The only thing that was a bit icky was the finest tomatoes, they went in the bin. The rest is good and lots will keep (cabbage, carrots, onions, and apples)

Got my first one today. M&S at a garage. Just happened to be on my journey out at the right time. I was worried the petrol station would be a nightmare but no fuel so it was a quick in and out.

Got chicken curry ready meal, pizza, spaghetti & meatballs ready meal, fresh soup, mini sausages and egg fried rice for total retail price of about £18. I’m happy with that.

Had to come back to this thread. Got a mega Morrisons bag today. Some of the fruit is bit soft but can be frozen for smoothies.

Multiple tubs of strawberries and blueberries plus melon, passion fruit and satsumas.

Plus veg. Plus 3 toffee apples!

Has to be one of the best as a really good mix of bits.
