Where's somewhere you've visited but wouldn't want to go back to?

Positive and negative!

I went to Las Vegas, glad I went, but no desire to return! :)

Would never return to Warwick Castle. It's quite over rated...and not much even happened there, it just looks the part! :)

OP posts:

Cadbury’s world, been done it, ticked it off the list. Glad we had other stuff booked in the area and didn’t travel purely for it.

Reallybadidea · 22/07/2021 12:11

Morocco. Meh.

Arsebucket · 22/07/2021 12:11

Rome.

Instantly hated it.

LadyCatStark · 22/07/2021 12:12

@WhoNeedsaManOfTheWorld

Tay1980 That had me tooGrin I take it you mean Harrogate is 10 mins up the road from you and not from Bath?
Took me a while too 😂
WillowGrand · 22/07/2021 12:12

Ha also came on to say Las Vegas, I hated the gluttony and waste Vs abject poverty and addiction.

Also Dublin totally overhyped and overpriced.

kikipie · 22/07/2021 12:14

New Orleans

CatherineAragon · 22/07/2021 12:14

Madeira. Why do so many people go there every year? It’s so incredibly dull.

FleetwoodRaincoat · 22/07/2021 12:14

Glencoe. Wet, gloomy and full of midges.

Spidey66 · 22/07/2021 12:16

@Tay1980

Bath, thought it would be beautiful but Harrogate (10 minutes up the road) is far nicer 🤷🏼‍♀️
Bath and Harrogate are opposite sides of the country?! Maybe 10 minutes by air!!!!

I'm with OP. Hated Vegas, my husbands best mate loves it and is always raving. To me it's Blackpool but in the desert. Tacky.

We went to St Lucia in the late 00s. Did not like it at all, though may have been the resort. It was all inclusive and I don't like all inclusive. We went to St Ives in Cornwall the following year and that started off a love of Cornwall that has never left me.

Playas de las Americas in Tenerife. Totally manufactured.

Wbeezer · 22/07/2021 12:18

Been to Liverpool, Birmingham and Manchester, admittedly more than 20 years ago but found them all a bit grotty and lairy.

ClaraThePigeon · 22/07/2021 12:18

I'm cheating a bit here because I do plan to go back one day as I think the city deserves another chance but I didn't like Manchester nearly as much as I thought I would. There's so much to do there and so many wonderful restaurants and friendly people but I didn't feel safe there. I felt very much on edge and I've never seen such blatant, prolific, open drug dealing. I'm from Glasgow too.

Spidey66 · 22/07/2021 12:18

Note to self. Read the thread. Other people have mentioned the Bath/Harrogate thing already.

IseeScottishhills · 22/07/2021 12:19

Singapore we stayed in the Marina Bay Sands which I agree is pretty spectacular especially the swimming pool, ate in Raffles one day, street food the next, went to the orchid park, museums, Gardens By the Bay, the bird park etc but I wouldn't bother to go back. Next time when we travel to Borneo I would just fly in and fly out on the next available flight.

IsThisAkissingBook · 22/07/2021 12:19

London

IseeScottishhills · 22/07/2021 12:19

Og nearly forgot Malta a total dump IMO.

IseeScottishhills · 22/07/2021 12:20

Og=oh.

Rainallnight · 22/07/2021 12:20

Marrakesh - really hassly

Lisbon - got food poisoning, ended up in a hospital that was like something from the developing world, lots of hassly beggars.

FedNlanders · 22/07/2021 12:20

I loved Rome
Really like much of France
Bath is in my mind rather pleasant like Harrogate- obviously missing Bettys but that can’t be helped
Cuba I enjoyed but wouldn’t return, certainly not a luxury destination but great for cycling across as people are precious about not crashing

I’d not bother with Coventry

IseeScottishhills · 22/07/2021 12:21

@Arsebucket

Rome.

Instantly hated it.

Really? I've travelled fairly extensively if I could only go to one place before I die it would always be Rome (out of season) for me there is nothing in the world quite like it.
Comedycook · 22/07/2021 12:22

Paris...very dirty and found the down and outs and children begging everywhere just awful to witness

Mydogisagentleman · 22/07/2021 12:22

Turkey.
We flew into Istanbul and picked up a car at the airport. We stayed in Istanbul for 2 days then set off around the country.
I hated every minute

WeatherwaxLives · 22/07/2021 12:23

Arbroath

Nothing particularly wrong with it, just... nothing there... (also I'm allergic to fish, which is the main attraction!) not really sure why I went in the first place, actually.

Also Sterling, or at least, I wouldn't go there in October. Honestly, I'd believe you if you told me it was colder in Sterling than the North Pole. I've never experienced cold like it!

FedNlanders · 22/07/2021 12:23

I didnt enjoy Rome either. We had fun but it would not need a 2nd visit.
