I just got called a whale

For context
I gave birth 6 months ago. Had 2 children in the space of 18 months. I’m 11st 5ft4 size 14...
is this really society’s version of being a “whale” now days? I’ve been trying my best to loose weight but this has really hurt me. Why do people have to be so evil

@EmmalineC

Your friend needs to fuck right off. Two children in 18 months takes a toll on the body, and besides that, 11st at 5ft 4 is hardly morbidly obese. Was she trying to be funny?
At no weight is it ok to call someone a whale, even if morbidly obese
Silvercatowner · 12/07/2021 12:05

Very very close friend

No, they really aren't.

anon12345678901 · 12/07/2021 12:05

What a nasty comment, I agree that that person is not your friend. Me and my friends can tease each other sometimes, but never over things like weight and certainly not nicknames that can actually hurt someone's feelings. I'm glad you left without them, I'm surprised they didn't apologise when you repeated it to them, and they just ignored it.

PandemicPalava · 12/07/2021 12:06

How horrible! That is not a friend

Iggly · 12/07/2021 12:07

They’re no friend of yours.

Fuck

Them

SedentaryCat · 12/07/2021 12:07

Rude. Perhaps it's time to find new friends OP.

Don't let it derail you - you have two lovely DCs...what a brilliant achievement Smile

My sister has been bad mouthing my lockdown weight gain. Honestly, I wish people would just keep their thoughts to themselves.

user1471538283 · 12/07/2021 12:08

Right that is it. This is not a friend. It is probably someone jealous of you.

You are not even big!

Sceptre86 · 12/07/2021 12:08

I had two kids in 15 months and went from 9st to 15 stone the day I had my ds. If anyone had referred to me as a whale I quite possibly would have backhanded them. I did lose the extra weight but it took me a long time and am now pregnant again so🤷‍♀️
Yanbu to be hurt x

Youdiditanyway · 12/07/2021 12:10

Eurgh, who needs enemies with friends like this. Ditch the bitch. I had 2 DC in 20 months and I BF them both so I’m not as slim as I used to be but I’ve definitely lost quite a bit of weight since youngest was born 11 months ago, I’m a size 16 at 5ft7 so not huge. I got called fat arse by some dickheads in an Audi a couple of weeks ago and it really pissed me off. Definitely would hurt more coming from a so called friend though, horrible person.

badacorn · 12/07/2021 12:14

She can fuck off unless she apologises. Whatever her problem is she shouldn’t take it out on you.

Fruityfriday · 12/07/2021 12:17

Crikey if you are a while at 11st I'm a megladon

godmum56 · 12/07/2021 12:21

@Millionaireinthemaking

Very very close friend!
no they are not your close friend! Personal comments unless appropriate compliments or made in reply to a request for an honest opinion are ALWAYS rude. Even they they should always be tactful. Anyine who does anything else is NOT your friend
PaperMonster · 12/07/2021 12:21

Sorry you’ve been treated so poorly. Think I’d be avoiding them for a while.

Iggyplop · 12/07/2021 12:22

I think your friend [not friend] [false friend] is jealous of you, take it with a pinch of salt. Seriously some people 🙄

Millionaireinthemaking · 12/07/2021 12:23

I told them I didn’t appreciate being called a whale! Their reply was “ I said get up stop laying there like a whale” but that was defo not what Was said 🙄

OP posts:
HopingForOurRainbowBaby · 12/07/2021 12:24

Tell them to fuck right off!!

Isababybel · 12/07/2021 12:26

Omg OP that person is not your friend, how utterly hurtful and rude. They are blatantly trying to backtrack as well! I would be demanding an apology but probably would not be speaking to this friend for a very long time, if ever again as she sounds like a real bitch.

pickingdaisies · 12/07/2021 12:28

Flowers They know what they said, you know what they said. Don't let them pretend they didn't say it. That was just nasty.

WhereDidIGoNext · 12/07/2021 12:31

You know what she said op. Don’t let her lie to you. She sounds like a real piece of work

TiddyAndFletch · 12/07/2021 12:32

You're the same size, height and weight as me and I don't identify as a 'whale'. I need to lose about a stone but I'm doing it slowly, by making sensible food choices.

Even if you were twice the size you are, there's no excuse for calling someone a 'whale' - deliberately hurtful and nasty.

Purplecatshopaholic · 12/07/2021 12:32

They are not a friend, never mind a close one. Horrible thing to say. One less ‘friend’ for you to worry about!

Losingthechubrub · 12/07/2021 12:33

He is a thoughtless knob, and you are far from a whale. Your body has recently been through some massive changes, and if he really expects everyone's bodies to just 'snap back' after making an entire new human, he's either delusional or reads too many celeb mags. I take it you aren't a mega-wealthy celebrity with access to nannies, chefs, plastic surgeons and personal trainers?

pootleforPM · 12/07/2021 12:35

whattt??? I'm the same height as you and only a few pounds lighter, and whilst I know I could do with losing a bit of chub, I'm a million miles away from whale territory (not that using that word is ever acceptable regardless of size)!!

They'd have got a mouthful from me tbh with a comment like that, absolutely no friend at all. One of those people who loves to put others down to make themselves feel good no doubt. I'm glad you left!

thelastgoldeneagle · 12/07/2021 12:35

What a bitch. She's no friend. And you're no whale.

Chickychickydodah · 12/07/2021 12:38

Very very close friend!

That person would be a very very ex friend who I would tell to fuck off .
Delete and block this person. Friends do not talk like that!,,😡
