Tell me about your delicious unusual crisp finds

By unusual I mean anything and everything other than cheese and onion, salt and vinegar, ready salted! For as long as I can remember those are the only flavours I’ve ever eaten. I love food and different flavours and will eat anything but the thought of those flavours or meals as crisps was just odd to me Confused

Yesterday I was at a bbq and they had none of my bog standard flavours. Usually I wouldn’t try it at all but I thought after the year I had, I thought let me live a little Grin Omg so good! One was sweet chilli and the other roast chicken & thyme. On my way back home yesterday I bought a McCoy’s steak flavour for later today.

What else have I been missing out on??

I’ve let some people know I’m expanding my crisps horizons. Co-op truffle and cheddar was recommended @JingsMahBucket, or anyone else, have you tried these? I’m 2 minutes away from a Co-op.

I’ve also had 3 recommendations for the co-op Chardonnay crisps and they all said they bought it because of MN Grin

I’ve never tried the ones from Co-op but I’m definitely intrigued now! Please report back @PopCantStop !

Scampi Fries! Also love the Walkers lime and coriander poppadoms and lime Doritos. Piper's wild thyme and rosemary are good too.

ElderMillennial · 27/06/2021 19:51

Has anyone tried the KFC crisps?

I can eat a KFC sometimes and I love crisps but not sure about the combo!

Eleoura · 27/06/2021 19:56

If you find your nearest Polish/random foreign foods hope you'll get to experiment with lots of flavours we don't usually get here, paprika and bbq flavours seem particularly popular. From my days in Uzbekistan I vaguely remember burger and pizza flavours, oh and lots of of other meaty ones. There were also lobster flavoured (probably sounds better than prawns cocktail) though as its a landlocked (x2 or 3) country a lot of people wouldn't know the difference anyway.
M&S do great Katsu curry ones and as someone said before...the wasabi popped rice ones,, an Indian/Oriental shop I went to did Lays Caribbean curry and a masala flavour.

@Goshitstricky

These are the one. Thank me later OP but I warn you, you can't just eat a couple. Blush
I'm addicted to these.

Also dill and jalapeño. I think they are pipers brand. In a big packet.

Also not crisps but similar snyders pretzels. Both the large sourdough ones and the flavoured pieces.

Snuzzle · 27/06/2021 20:08

Morrisons the best steak & caramelised onion are amazing.
Also bbq bugles, McCoy’s sizzling king prawn and at Christmas honey roast ham pringles. Kettle chips maple bacon used to be a favourite in my house but we can’t seem to find them near us anymore.

stayingaliveisawayoflife · 27/06/2021 20:12

KFC crisps don't taste of KFC in my opinion. They tasted chickeny but weird.

stayingaliveisawayoflife · 27/06/2021 20:13

Walkers used to do an olive oil and herb crisp which was amazing but they have stopped them now.

Yes! Not sure they actually taste like KFC tbh, remind me more of the chicken & thyme sensations but with an added kick of spice. Strangely moreish, I've been known to eat 2 bags in one go! Grin

gabsdot45 · 27/06/2021 20:22

Recently Ballymaloe Relish flavoured crisps appeared in the vending machine at my work.
They are so good.

goteam · 27/06/2021 20:24

Twigletgirl27 · 27/06/2021 20:30

This thread has reminded me of the seaweed Pringles I had in Thailand. They were green and the tastiest Pringles I've ever had. Sadly seem unavailable here even online 😟

IntroducingMyLadyGarden · 27/06/2021 20:36

Do we have a verdict on crispgate yet? Deep trauma, it's the only explanation

I managed to find a little stash in B & M at the end of the first lockdown that had obviously been trapped in an obscure corner of the warehouse (so June 2020) but nothing since though I regularly visit B & M/Poundland/Home Bargains and all the other places they used to be. Now I’m worried that Seabrook Lamb and Mint might be going the same way.

enjoyingscience · 27/06/2021 20:45

The tiny bags of bacon fries you get in pubs are the best. So chemically they taste cold.

They used to do cheese moments which had a delicious creamy bit in the middle, but I haven’t seen them for so many years.

weegiemum · 27/06/2021 20:46

My current fave are Mackies Haggis and Cracked Black Pepper. Not sure if they're in Scotland only?

MegaCityOne · 27/06/2021 20:53

Guinness crisps were amazing! I’m not a fan of Guinness but the crisps were delish.

If you live near a Rogers Wholesale place, they sell all sorts of crisps, especially Irish ones you can’t get easily in England. The Manchester Rogers is fab, think they have them in Birmingham, Plymouth and South east somewhere.

Mammyloveswine · 27/06/2021 21:09

Brannigans beef and horseradish., mmmm so thick and crunchy..hard to find these days but Poundland or home bargains often gave them,
