Tell me about your delicious unusual crisp finds

By unusual I mean anything and everything other than cheese and onion, salt and vinegar, ready salted! For as long as I can remember those are the only flavours I’ve ever eaten. I love food and different flavours and will eat anything but the thought of those flavours or meals as crisps was just odd to me Confused

Yesterday I was at a bbq and they had none of my bog standard flavours. Usually I wouldn’t try it at all but I thought after the year I had, I thought let me live a little Grin Omg so good! One was sweet chilli and the other roast chicken & thyme. On my way back home yesterday I bought a McCoy’s steak flavour for later today.

What else have I been missing out on??
**@JingsMahBucket* @Arrierttyclock* truffle crisps sound very decadent (adds to list!)
@PopCantStop apparently Ocado sells the Torres black truffle flavour and they’re currently on sale! www.ocado.com/products/brindisa-torres-black-truffle-crisps-511218011

My two ultimate favourites are Roysters T-bone steak (they’re like a bubbled looking crisps) or the chilli and cheese Pringles

FrankensteinIsTheMonster · 27/06/2021 16:08

@sergeilavrov

When I was working in Nepal, while everyone else was suffering from altitude sickness as we drove, I was tucking into mayonnaise flavour pringles. A burly American colleague threw them out of the window in frustration.
Frustration at what?

I put vinegar in ready salted crisps...amazing!

Don't knock it to you've tried it 😂

I do this too - awesome!
OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/06/2021 16:55

When I was a student I could get wheat based puffy crisps with a garlic dipping sauce.
I used to have them for dinner sometimes. Blush

ChrisPriss · 27/06/2021 17:16

Roysters used to do a roast chicken flavour bubble crisps which were so tasty, but I haven't seen any for ages Sad

Pipers jalapeño and dill. I was very dubious, but they’re amazing.

Walkers max paprika.

Catrabbit75 · 27/06/2021 17:33

IKEA mushroom crisps are really tasty.

PurpleMustang · 27/06/2021 17:35

Oh wow, this will be an adventure for you. I suggest you pick a supermarket and start at one end of the aisle and work your way along over time/when things are on offer. Some like Walkers bring out limited edition/Christmas flavours so you will have fun all year!

CheerfulBunny · 27/06/2021 17:36

Morrisons own posh crisps are lovely, the steaky ones particularly. I think they do a teriyaki chicken as well. I have a problem with those Walkers sensations poppadoms in that I can taste them for about three days afterwards which gets really boring. It's put me right off them. Maybe it's just me?

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 27/06/2021 17:43

My faves are lamb and mint crinkle cut Seabrooks crisps from Morrison’s on Amazon, but the last few times I’ve ordered they haven’t been in stock. Least favourite are Discos prawn cocktail. DP and I ate a bag once and both just looked at each other in horror as he pointed out that “they taste like dick”. I’m not sure how he knows, but I’d avoid those ones Grin

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 27/06/2021 17:45

@LeanneBrownsLonelyBraincell

Lays Oregano ones. Only ever found them in Greece though so slightly unhelpful
Yesss! I love oregano crisps on holiday
sergeilavrov · 27/06/2021 17:45

Ooh Torres also do caviar flavour crisps: they’re freakishly accurate, even down to the popping sensation.

ElderMillennial · 27/06/2021 17:48

M&S onion rings
Tomato Snaps
Jalapeño Real Crisps
Walkers Sensations Sweet Chilli

What kind of vinegar? White or malt?

All I can say is don't ever try m&s prosecco ones at Christmas. They are disgusting

JackieCollinshasnoauthority · 27/06/2021 18:31

This is so pure.

For spice, walkers max strong hot wings are good.

JingsMahBucket · 27/06/2021 18:33

The M & S truffle ones linked above are not worth your time and taste buds. They don’t taste like truffle at all and some of those reviews were right regarding sugar being on them for some strange reason. We were big time disappointed in them. Those bad ones were actually the catalyst for me seeking out a UK seller of the Torres black truffle potato chips/crisps. Way more worth it.

And yes @PurpleMustang this is such a great idea!
TrobadoraBeatrice · 27/06/2021 18:45

A bit random but I absolutely love Indomie Chitato mi goreng flavour crisps (Asda was selling them for a while but seem to have stopped), they are completely moreish. I do like a good browse in the snack aisle of the local Chinese supermarket too, lots of interesting things to be had there! At the other end of the spectrum, Fiddler's Lancashire crisps are the best ready salted bar none, and the other flavours are pretty good too though I'm not so keen on the black pudding and mustard one, and suspect the Lancashire sauce flavour is a bit of an acquired taste!

MintyCedric · 27/06/2021 18:45

Tesco Finest crinkle cut beef and horseradish
Walkers smoky bacon (ideally layered up in an egg mayo sandwich)
McCoys Muchos smokey chilli chicken flavour
Rib n Saucy Nik Naks if you can still get them

I am desperate to know where you can still get Tangy Toms

Ohsugarhoneyicetea · 27/06/2021 18:58

Has anyone mentioned Doritos Chilli Heatwave? Crisp crack.
