That made me smile, MercyBooth, because I had the opposite from the engineer who came to service my boiler. It's in a separate and well-ventilated area. He disappeared in there for ages and there were scaping and clanking noises and the radiators got hot and cooled again. He told me that he had given it a good clean out. I suspect that he was happy taking his time in a nice safe space.

I'm sorry, that's no help to you, however. Sad

I copied and pasted it over in case the Laura Dodsworth thread gets deleted. There is someone over there working all the hours God sends on it to make sure that happens.

Yes, I've stopped contributing now.

That guy who did your boiler...I must admit, I'd have had no sympathy for him in September 2020, but reading that book means I have now.

I'm struggling to get out of my very low mindset and we are on month 16!

Im not sure id recognise him again due to the face mask but if i think its the same one i might bring the book up in conversation.

I realise many people, including me, are just broken and confused now

But yesterday I was chatting to a woman in my flats who wears a mask outside

She told me about the lovely pub lunch she had on father's day

But she wears a mask outside

Is it just me...?

I wouldn't suggest the book to a stranger. Not a criticism, i just don't know how people would see it. The review thread stunned me a bit.

It worries me that they are ramping up the testing rates. Aside from seeking out every last case to try and justify keeping us all imprisoned for longer, the amount of false positives they must hit, especially if they simultaneously turn up the cycle rate on the tests, means that they can pimp out their scary looking upward trend graphs and convince the population……just 4 more weeks….one last heave…one final push…one closing drive or whatever other bollocks 3 word slogan they have waiting in the wings.

The UK government has given £3bn to a company selling covid tests the US government has recalled as not fit for use - and its solution is to say we should use more of them! Full story in the new Private Eye, in shops today.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 24/06/2021 20:01

So the balearic islands have been added to the green list. But greek islands which are highly vaccinated and haven't seen a covid case in ages remain amber. So I've to move my trip. Again.

I am just sat here in tears. I know its self indulgent but this is a nightmare.

MercyBooth · 24/06/2021 20:10

@LivinLaVidaLoki Im so sorry. Flowers Cake Wine It makes NO sense.

ISaySteadyOn · 24/06/2021 20:23

Oh, @LivinLaVidaLoki, I am sorry Flowers. What a bunch of malakas (did I use that right?)!

LivinLaVidaLoki · 24/06/2021 20:27

Thank you.

Pure shite @LivinLaVidaLoki 💐

MercyBooth · 24/06/2021 20:39

Laura Dodsworth (author of A State of Fear) did an interview last night for GB News.

justasking111 · 24/06/2021 23:28

Still cannot read that book, maybe one day. The USA dissing of the unreliable tests is bloody wonderful

I must look into that tomorrow.

Mercy, thank you for the link. I think Laura is generous in her assessment of the government.

I know this crap but I've just been online amd ordered stuff from Amazon that I could get in the supermarket. I can't face another lunchtime trip to the supermarket with a mask on and the raging hayfever behind it.

I've become really disorganised, normally I just pootle round the shops with no list and don't forget anything but having a mask on is such a struggle. I've stopped making lists and stopped making healthy food.

I'm going to end up stuck to the sofa at this point. I don't know why I'm still up.

MercyBooth · 25/06/2021 01:50

@Ostara212 I really struggled in a mask and got into the habit of buying myself chocolate or other junk food as a reward for coping with a mask on. And put on weight. I got a lanyard last November (given to me by a kind supermarket worker who saw i was struggling) but still tried to wear one. It was after a skin reaction on my face back in Jan that i reached my limit.

There are more details in the print version of Private Eye about those ridiculous useless tests. Its not a conspiracy theorist thing now its been acknowledged.

They are going to have to accept that comfort consumption has been a big consequence of these lockdowns. They made their choice.

MercyBooth · 25/06/2021 02:11

MercyBooth · 25/06/2021 02:18

Not much social distancing going on.

RainbowCrayons · 25/06/2021 03:19

Flowers for you @LivinLaVidaLoki I was hoping for Greek Islands to go green to work as a stop off between where I am and the UK this summer.

We have 150 doses per 100 people but are stuck on the red list. I honestly thought the vaccine was our way out of this mess.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 25/06/2021 03:27

Thanks for the Thanks everyone. I'm laid here awake now can't even sleep.

The ridiculous thing is, Greece has been open to tourists with the Dutch, Germans and a few other European countries now for months and our cases are still falling. Surely this demonstrates our protocols are safe and it is a safe destination to travel to?

LivinLaVidaLoki · 25/06/2021 03:29

Now now @MercyBooth that's unfair....maybe she was in his fuck bubble....

That's a thing, right?

WouldBeGood · 25/06/2021 03:47
