@LivinLaVidaLoki

So the balearic islands have been added to the green list. But greek islands which are highly vaccinated and haven't seen a covid case in ages remain amber. So I've to move my trip. Again.

I am just sat here in tears. I know its self indulgent but this is a nightmare.

It's not self-indulgent, it's the right to a family life.

Let's just say that I'm not rushing to pack cases for our supposed trip to see DH's family in slightly over a month. It's closer to 2y than 18m now. MiL is now in very poor health. Quarentine on arrival has been added since we booked. No way am I containing myself in a basic appartment with 2 DCs for 5 days out of the 7 on top of the anticipated £££ for testing.

Well she could have done better, in every conceivable way.

Someone on the inside wants him out, don't they?

ISaySteadyOn · 25/06/2021 08:37

Yes, but I am afraid I still feel zero sympathy for him. Her, yes. Why, just why do that to yourself?

LivinLaVidaLoki · 25/06/2021 09:01

DH just said "well it can't be that much of a surprise, he's been fucking the entire country for the last 16 months"

ISaySteadyOn · 25/06/2021 09:03

😂

BIoodyStupidJohnson · 25/06/2021 09:07

Maybe he promised her a 'protective ring' Halo
justasking111 · 25/06/2021 09:09

Wow that looks as if it's filmed from another building

Worldgonecrazy · 25/06/2021 09:21

I think it looks like security camera footage. So who leaked it because the people who are in charge of that must usually be water tight as it presents a terrorist risk.

And ewwwwwww .

Their poor families too, having this so public.

Worldgonecrazy · 25/06/2021 09:22

@LivinLaVidaLoki

Malakas. Malakas. Malakas.

Hugs for you and everyone misses their families.

So (among other things) while lecturing us all on the need to avoid infectious diseases, Matt Hancock's been putting his wife at higher risk of STDs? Without her knowledge or consent. What a lovely bloke.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 25/06/2021 09:46

All that bollocks of "I was busy saving lives"....
Is that what they're calling it these days?

justasking111 · 25/06/2021 09:53

Perhaps he was swabbing her tonsils 😂😂😂

Ostara212 · 25/06/2021 10:08

I cba reading the main thread

Has this done any good in making posters realise threat was over exaggerated? (I mean the Covid threat. The Hancock threat was downplayed throughout).

ISaySteadyOn · 25/06/2021 10:48

DH told me today about a teacher who claimed that she caught Covid from the children she taught and now has long Covid and is too emotionally traumatised to teach anymore.

And all I could think was how does her saying those things make the children she taught feel because there's no guarantee they won't find out. She was cruel there and so I am glad she won't be teaching anymore.

It encapsulated my disillusionment that a greater proportion of people in the caring professions don't actually give a shit. And it makes me sad.

Ostara212 · 25/06/2021 11:28

"It encapsulated my disillusionment that a greater proportion of people in the caring professions don't actually give a shit. And it makes me sad"

No offence, I didn't believe people believed in "caring" professions. And there's a glaring perk with teaching jobs....I thought about it.

Just seen on another thread, people aren't registering negative LFTs. Isn't that going to skew the %s to hell?

ISaySteadyOn · 25/06/2021 11:45

I think, tbh, I have always been a bit naive about these things hence disillusionment. I guess a job is just a job whatever it might be.

What's the glaring perk about teachers? I am curious.

I would think not registering negative LFTs would definitely skew percentages.

Ostara212 · 25/06/2021 12:18

Teachers - holidays. Everyone works long hours but most other jobs get 4 - 5 weeks holiday max.

justasking111 · 25/06/2021 12:19

Maybe balance out by people not registering positive LFTs .

Ostara212 · 25/06/2021 12:25

But the sort of person who gets LFTs to test when there's nothing wrong with them, aren't they the sort who will do all the follow up instructions?
BIoodyStupidJohnson · 25/06/2021 12:52

In many cases, yes probably. But speaking for myself, I only do the tests as a kind of peace-of-mind thing... I have a friend who has cystic fibrosis and although her attitude has always been very 'I don't care about covid, seeing people is what makes my life worth living' I know for myself that I don't want to knowingly pass anything on to her.

I intended to log the negative result the first time I took one. But they want so much personal data -- full name, date of birth, sex, address, phone number, inside leg measurement... it felt like too much info to be giving out to tell the government that a symptomless person isn't ill.

Curlygirl06 · 25/06/2021 12:54

On an entirely different matter, here's one of the swans, not sleeping but getting very close to us when he saw the bread! My goodness he was big (bench by the side for scale).
In other news, apart from baby geese, there was 38 geese in the park today.

Somehow I've missed all this about Matt Hancock, ooh er missus!

Would you log a positive test?
BIoodyStupidJohnson · 25/06/2021 14:12

@Ostara212 I don't know, quite honestly.
