The Welsh government are going for the reset aren't they.

ADs shelter in The Sleeping Swans and have a group hug
Taswama · 19/06/2021 19:22

Good to see elsewhere on here people admitting to just pretending to check in at restaurants.
I do worry that I'm setting a bad example to my kids (eldest) anyway of pretending to comply as a way around rules though. But some rules are so pointless it's necessary for ones sanity.

BogRollBOGOF · 19/06/2021 20:50

My children are naturally nocturnal. I gave up sweating about that one a long time ago. Last night at about 22:50, DS2 ambles into my room with a piece of paper saying"look, I did my 24x table up to 36x 24". He's built to look disarmingly cute, and as long as they're quiet and resting after 9pm, I don't worry. They're that full of energy that they're not in the right mindset to read/ draw/ write at any socially conventional time. They do well at school. They have energy. There is ND stuff going on in their minds (DS1 with his catalogue, but DS2 has dyslexic traits too). I can hive them wind down habits, but I can't force them to sleep.

Went out for lunch. We chose well. All the servers had lovely young faces Grin
That felt pretty close to normal other than.a brief check-in.

What, unmasked faces? That sounds brilliant.
BogRollBOGOF · 19/06/2021 23:39

They were indeed. It was a fortuitous discovery. I find it too uncomfortable to look at masked faces so rarely make face contact these days, and it was wonderful to look at people directly for once, and so much easier to chat.
We were playing pokemon go, and one lad serving got quite enthused about it, he played a lot a few years ago.

Long live the quiet little rebellions and growing confidence.

The trouble is that there aren't many ways to quietly rebel I genuinely don't cope with face coverings anyway, but in the last montn or so I've been feeling more comfortable about that as other people are vaccinated, fed up and relaxing more.

Lost my rag a bit on another thread. So if i disappear from here that may be why.

Wilberforce42 · 20/06/2021 06:09

Mercy I haven’t seen your threads but I’m taking a break from ‘over there’ as it’s beyond ridiculous now and actually quite frightening how some people think.

WouldBeGood · 20/06/2021 07:21

It’s very much like last year over there again. Scary.

Yet no-one in government is addressing mental health issues which I suspect are off the charts
WouldBeGood · 20/06/2021 10:26

Oh no! @justasking111, I think you’ll find mental health is just part of the selfish whinging 😂

Didn't see it but a break is good.

I mentioned on another thread that being unable to speak freely leads people to strange places. I have seen and heard some CTs that really horrified me. I can't laugh. These are people who won't call an ambulance if their child is ill, their distrust is so deep.

think more people will believe in it now because we have been told we are CTs for pointing out what is in legislation. It's bizarre.

Worldgonecrazy · 20/06/2021 12:12

The problem with trying to reach conspiracy theorists is that, when the government is blatantly taking the piss and telling provable lies, there is little hope of saying, ‘well the government lied about that, but they are being benevolent about this’.

I’m also always mindful that any societal or population manipulator worth their salt will be fully cognisant if conspiracy theorist behaviour and using it to their advantage.

Forgot to say @Ostara212, welcome to the thread Flowers

I’m fighting the noble fight.

ISaySteadyOn · 21/06/2021 07:59

@BogRollBOGOF, what wind down habits would you suggest? The difficulty is that DD actually does need sleep.

And today, I am hating my stupid dyspraxia which makes life harder for everyone in my family no matter how hard I try to mitigate it. I wish they could have a me whose brain worked properly and was brisk and organised instead of the depressive klutz they have.

We play minecraft music outside their doors, "Wet Hands" is particularly soothing! I just let them quietly read/ draw/ write until they doze off. As long as they're quiet, I leave them to it.
My mum used to get annoyed that I didn't fall asleep soon after my arbitary early bedtime. I'd end up reading by street lamp or cracks of light for an hour or two then get moaned at for ruining my eyesight when I was sent to bed long before I was tired enough!

Thanks. I wish you were my neighbour or something like that and we could talk parenting and everything else. I make pretty good coffee/tea fwiw Brew

In fact, actually, I wish I lived in a neighborhood with all of you. We could be the village that it supposedly takes to raise a child.

flower11 · 21/06/2021 10:57

My dd is the same she often isn't tired and won't go to bed unless she feels sleepy, usually around 9pm but sometimes its 10pm. I have learnt to let her be and as long as she stays in her room and doesn't bother us, she occupies herself.

Lots of her classmates go to bed much earlier but I now do what works for her.

I haven't been over there for 2 weeks and feel better for it. I have started on meds for anxiety as it was starting to affect my work. Dealing with dd issues has stirred up all my old insecurities.

What a damp squib of a day.

Still nice to hear that the Scottish football player has no close contacts... Hmm
Are the government/ media/ rich & famous trying to whip up an angry appetite for freedom or genuinely raging hypocrites?

It baffles me that people are okay with this.

I am doing my best to keep away from all kinds of media but occasionally check in case something changes and it never does.

The numbers that are supposedly high really confuse me.

Including for the flu like some of us said it would be.

All the “conspiracy theories” are coming to fruition. Independent Sage is setting up a climate change advisory too.. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Interesting
Did flu go away last winter, I note he said it will return?

WouldBeGood on that thread, I highlighted a quote from the man interviewed. One response was to tell me I was a no hoper, sitting at home never doing anything but criticising those who want to change the world for the better.
