Next door asking for WiFi password

Just want to start by saying I would do anything for anyone but I’m not quite sure we have done the right thing. Last night next door knocked on asking if they could have the WiFi password. I didn’t answer as I was upstairs, so DP did and he gave it her. Now, they aren’t my favourite people (putting that nicely) I put a thread a bit back saying how much of a nightmare they are. Not really sure why DP gave it her to be honest. I’m really paranoid now they have it. Does anyone know if they could do anything dodgy with it? I might be sounding dramatic but if so, could I change my WiFi password and would that kick them off it?

@Ddot

No I'm not taking the piss , I'm old and dont get tec, so sod off with your sarcasm. Give me a needle and thread and prepare to be amazed, and I throw a mean axe.
Funny how you managed to scroll to the end of the thread to see the responses to your own post.

Why so chippy?

Age is no bar to getting tech, fine not to understand it but why not own that rather than playing the old lady card?

So three of you now having a go, anyone else want to add something. Personally I have a life, only joined MN because of lockdown. If it makes you happy to snide crack on at least your leaving someone else alone

Can I? Please, please?

I'm old too.

You've posted a gazillion times and now you've learned something new. Just say Thank You, nicely and move on.

Roussette · 14/05/2021 15:03

DDot don't get funny, I bet I'm older than you.

I don't think it was the not knowing how to change a p/w on a router, it was the fact it had been changed and posted a gazillion times that THE PASSWORD HAS BEEN CHANGED!

Ddot · 14/05/2021 15:05

I didn't realise how popular I was but if you want to keep tabs on my posts crack on, saddo

Roussette · 14/05/2021 15:09

What?

Not sure if that was directed at me. I was trying to be pleasant about it all. Just trying to explain about what the problem was...

Obviously you are wanting to scrap with someone!

I'm out.

Ddot · 14/05/2021 15:29

Roussette
sorry not meant for you. Yours came up after I'd written last one. As for missing the fact it had already been changed, that was my bag.

ItsCokeFFS · 14/05/2021 16:38

As for missing the fact it had already been changed, that was my bag.

Which is why I asked if you were taking the piss?

Several other people had made lighthearted posts along the same lines so it wasn't clear if you were being ironic.

It's nothing to do with how old you are or whether you are "tech savvy", simply a question of reading what had been written in the previous hundreds of posts.

wingsnthat · 14/05/2021 16:45

Why did he give her the password 😭 no shitty neighbour will use my facilities for free

teawamutu · 14/05/2021 16:59

I noticed a network near me called "F**k you - get your own wi-fi".

Reckon the owner's read this thread?

Ddot · 14/05/2021 17:21

Glad you got sorted, if she gets shirty with you, just say your on a limited network so you cant share. Best not to get confrontational with those type of people

Roussette · 14/05/2021 17:43

@Ddot no problem! Smile

NoMLMbots · 14/05/2021 22:46

So has she been back again to see if you new husband with give her the new password?

Trudij123 · 14/05/2021 23:15

New husband? That’s fast work @Sparkles556 - congratulations 😂

Sparkles556 · 15/05/2021 15:28

So...Our WiFi has been running really slow the past couple of days so I downloaded an app that tells you what devices are running off the WiFi. There’s a device on there showing an android phone. Me and DP both have iPhones..

SwanShaped · 15/05/2021 16:13

Yeah remove the Android phone.

IsolaPribby · 15/05/2021 16:16

But if you haven't given them the new password.......?

Sparkles556 · 15/05/2021 16:16

It won’t let me remove itAngry I’ve pressed the delete button but that’s just removing from the list on my phone

OP posts:
Sparkles556 · 15/05/2021 16:18

@IsolaPribby Well that’s what I was thinking but we have no android devices in the house and it’s saying it’s onlineConfused

SwanShaped · 15/05/2021 16:23
