Next door asking for WiFi password

Just want to start by saying I would do anything for anyone but I’m not quite sure we have done the right thing. Last night next door knocked on asking if they could have the WiFi password. I didn’t answer as I was upstairs, so DP did and he gave it her. Now, they aren’t my favourite people (putting that nicely) I put a thread a bit back saying how much of a nightmare they are. Not really sure why DP gave it her to be honest. I’m really paranoid now they have it. Does anyone know if they could do anything dodgy with it? I might be sounding dramatic but if so, could I change my WiFi password and would that kick them off it?

@DadDadDad

There is an alternative that I don't think anyone has suggested. If you cover the exterior wall of your house with aluminium foil it will act as a Faraday cage, and your neighbours will no longer be able to pick up your WiFi signal.
Now we seem to be getting somewhere people! Real, actionable suggestions - change husband, house etc, create Faraday cage...we will get there MNers. OP - Has anyone suggested time travel - go back in time and stop your dh giving access to the wifi?

Change schools?

Anyway I think ol Sparkles DP is busy, building a giant Electro Magnetic Pulse machine.
Fry the fuckers devices!
Tis the only way.

@1WayOrAnother2

Clearly OP you need to CHANGE something... the neighbours? the husband? the house? Confused

Or is there something easier (that no-one else will have thought of in all these pages Grin

You forgot the obvious.... Underwear!

I still think the suggestion to change your husband is best. I mean without him this problem would not have occurred and without him around who knows what problems might be prevented in the future?

She's bookmarked that suggestion for the next time Mr 'Dope' gives out the password - assuming she declines my suggestion to change him.

Change the password. If that doesn't work, cancel the cheque. Or go to Maui.

Someone's going to snap and fart in a minute.....

daisychain01 · 13/05/2021 06:30

Now you're just being silly. I still think it's easier to change the husband.

@Sparkles556

What about changing my password?
Im not sure if that would help to be honest - I think you're better off with penguin bollards, leaving the bastard and cancelling the cheque....

( has she been back yet @Sparkles556? Please say she has !!)

BlueVelvetStars · 13/05/2021 16:21

@Trudij123

Sparkles556 · 13/05/2021 16:26

Don't be ridiculous - that will never work.

Have you got a Spanish granny who could sort out the neighbours for you? Grin

LopsidedWombat · 13/05/2021 16:59

I gave our neighbour the WiFi password a few years back. Was caught off guard and instantly regretted it. After a few days I changed the password and when they asked again I just said no. I don't know them or what they get up to on the Internet which would then be linked to me but also they were hovering outside my living room window late at night in order to get decent WiFi signal!

Ddot · 13/05/2021 21:07

No I'm not taking the piss , I'm old and dont get tec, so sod off with your sarcasm. Give me a needle and thread and prepare to be amazed, and I throw a mean axe.

ItsCokeFFS · 14/05/2021 09:52

I'm old and dont get tec

Amazing that you have managed to post soooooo many times on MN then.

NoMLMbots · 14/05/2021 09:56

Is the tin foil working? (Asking for a friend)

Ddot · 14/05/2021 10:20

Why on here is there always someone who brings crappy comments. Is your life that sad you need to have a go.

ItsCokeFFS · 14/05/2021 10:58

Same reason that there are always people who can't be bothered to read the thread - or at the very least the OPs updates.
