Wondering whats actually normal. I shower every 2-3 days in the evenings.

Yes, and I do have eczema. I feel greasy without it. And I find if I wait until the end of the day to do it (because I have a run or similar planned) it seems to flare my eczema up, maybe because I get all hot and sticky?! I don't know, but I need it to wake me up too.

@DareIask

Unless you don't have the facilities to do so I can't understand why anyone wouldn't want to.
Pain?

@Packinbox

Shower every morning and bath in the evening. I must have a sensitive nose but I can definitely smell the unwashed Grin
How do you know? You can smell the smelly, sure. And you might make assumptions about their hygiene routine. But in fact, there are plenty of people who wash daily and still smell by the evening, as well as oodles who don't, and don't.

I'm not interested in how often people shower. But I would really appreciate it if some individuals could stop listening to the corporations with a vested interest in persuading them that they need to coat themselves in seven different artificial perfumes - and wash their clothes with another two - or the whole world will Judge Them as unclean. I'm choking at the very thought....

SionnachGlic · 03/05/2021 21:58

Yes, every day...it wakes me up & I feel fresh & warm (on a cold day). I very regularly have a bath at night also....I know not environmentally correct to use too much water but it relaxes me after a long day & i feel squeaky clean all over going to bed. The times I haven't...if visiting friends overnight etc...I feel a bit grotty. It doesn't bother me that morn/eve so I'm not twitchy or neurotic about it...but I definitely feel off as the day wears on without a minute or two in the shower.

seriouslystressedoutmama · 03/05/2021 21:59

I feel totally gross now but I shower ever 2/3 days. I'm a single parent to 3 kids, 2 of which are toddlers so I don't get much free time.

I shower them 4/5 times a week or more depending on how dirty they get.

Showering every day sounds like heaven and also a luxury.

Quirrelsotherface · 03/05/2021 21:59

If you don't shower every day, assuming there is no medical reason and you are moving around, sweating in your sleep, being intimate, going outside, being around others, being alive basically - then you are absolutely grim.

I’m a single mum to 4 and manage to shower daily, I get up before them 🤷‍♀️ Being clean is not a luxury it’s a basic

Happycat1212 · 03/05/2021 22:02

Or do it when they go to bed if you can’t do it in the mornings no excuse really

You're not unclean if you don't shower everyday
multivac · 03/05/2021 22:02

Finding it hilarious how people who 'religiously' shower every day 'feel unclean' if they don't, and appear surprised by this... Grin

What if you don't have a shower?

@mnhq its ok to be called grim and unclean then? But I aren't allowed to tell that poster to fuck off? Really?

Thanks I'm grim then. Some of us have to factor in the cost of running an electric shower and washing and drying towels too. Just to make it grimmer for you.

I shower every single evening before going to bed. I can't get comfortable and fall asleep feeling all "sticky" from the day. And I wash every morning too but my main long, hot winding down shower "ritual" is in the evenings.

Pebbledashery · 03/05/2021 22:13

Twice a day.. Every day. Non negotiable.

CandyLeBonBon · 03/05/2021 22:14

Every other day and a sink wash in between.

Happycat1212 · 03/05/2021 22:16

How is it, the poster didn’t mention any type of disability just that she couldn’t because she’s a single mum Confused I have 4 and still manage to shower every single day there is always time in the mornings or when they are in bed, a 5 minute shower before bed!

Serena1977 · 03/05/2021 22:16

'There is no excuse' that's what you said.

Because I'm grim and struggling.
Sirius99 · 03/05/2021 22:19

Once or twice a week, if there’s any hot water left, so much for saving the plant the amount of water and energy wasted to needlessly shower twice a day
