Wondering whats actually normal. I shower every 2-3 days in the evenings.

No. There's no shower in my house so I have a bath every 2 to 3 days. I wash morning and night otherwise.

Happycat1212 · 03/05/2021 22:21

Ok well medical conditions aside which goes without saying really🙄

I don’t get how being a single mum is a reason to not shower, loads of us are single mums it’s not an excuse to not clean yourself, I wouldn’t leave my house if I hadn’t showered.

Luckyelephant1 · 03/05/2021 22:22

I shower every day apart from maybe the odd day when I've had a lazy one or not left the house.

I do like the feeling of showering before bed, but I normally shower in the mornings as I just don't feel properly awake otherwise. If I do a sweaty workout in the evening I'll have a v quick shower afterwards as well as the morning shower. DH exactly the same as me.

Christ almighty. Have you heard yourself? Good for you.
StormcloakNord · 03/05/2021 22:23

I have to shower every day because I'm very overweight & need to keep my hygiene up basically... I sweat a lot just walking from A to B.

Sparklingbrook · 03/05/2021 22:23

@Sirius99

Once or twice a week, if there’s any hot water left, so much for saving the plant the amount of water and energy wasted to needlessly shower twice a day
My two showers a day are offset by the 'every 2-3 days' people water wise it seems. They aren't 'needless' as I wish to shower twice a day.
LST · 03/05/2021 22:24

Ans @happycat1212 have you thought about how your comments could impact someone who is struggling? No, of course you haven't.

CandyLeBonBon · 03/05/2021 22:25

@Happycat1212 that works for you. That's great. Others are different. That works for them.

No need for hostility

Bellabelloo · 03/05/2021 22:27

Yes! Twice a day.

Sirius99 · 03/05/2021 22:28

Sparklingbrook Water is a luxury in many places and many people needlessly showering twice a day and the fuel used to heat the water, still I suppose you’re doing your bit elsewhere to look after are plant

You're right. Bring a single mum isn't an excuse.

Struggling with being a single mum and working is my excuse. Cause I am struggling. I clearly don't have my shit together like you. I'm simply too tired.

I shower 2/3 times a week when they go to their dads. The kids are showered more as they need it.

I really regret commenting on this post 😔 I don't think I smell or am a bad person simply because I shower less than you.

joystir59 · 03/05/2021 22:29

Every evening before I get into bed.

Panpig · 03/05/2021 22:31

Every morning and night.

LST · 03/05/2021 22:32

@seriouslystressedoutmama ignore the heartless posters. I hope you're ok

I do what I can to look after our 'planet'. Of course I know water is a luxury in many places. As I said my showers aren't 'needless'.

I would count things like washing your car every single day (looking at you neighbour) and using a sprinkler to water the grass as needless when it comes to water usage.

Roonerspismed · 03/05/2021 22:36

This is really interesting. Pre covid I would shower at least once a day; maybe twice if doing a run

During lockdown I lost the habit. Was up early walking dogs and then so busy with kids I would forget. I swim in the sea so I would basically do that once or twice a week and shower once.

I am still in that habit.

I used to have BO by night if I hadn’t showered. I barely have BO at all now: have also stopped shaving under my arms so much.

So now I need to shower less. I think my skin microbiome is better.

MrsPnut · 03/05/2021 22:43

I have always showered every day, until I had surgery that meant I had to sink wash for two weeks. It felt grim and I didn’t feel clean but there was the problem of washing my hair.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 03/05/2021 22:43

Unfortunately not. I have an auto immune condition which leaves me covered in extremely painful hives much of the time. The thought of putting my poor skin through that every day makes me feel queasy tbh. I'd like to but around 80% of the time I struggle to even lean against a table or wear baggy clothes without them irritating me more so a shower would be the last thing I'd want.

Oh you're so perfect. Here, you dropped this 🏅.
Happycat1212 · 03/05/2021 22:56

Since when did cleaning yourself daily make you perfect 🤣 amazing that people think cleaning yourself is a luxury or makes you perfect 😱 no I just don’t like being stinky thanks

DipSwimSwoosh · 03/05/2021 22:58

Yes at least once.

Ecruelworld · 03/05/2021 22:59

Yes. I'm menopausal and after all the hot flushes and sweating I would feel grim if I didn't.
