Lighthearted, give me your unpopular opinions.

I can start;

The musical Hamilton and Star Wars are over rated.

@whitespotsgreenleaves

if god didn’t want us to eat animals he wouldn’t have made them out of meat

You are made out of meat. Does that mean God wants me to eat you?

Well. I would take a taste. 😂 I think it's actually even legal here.
Hollyhocksarenotmessy · 31/03/2021 20:29

Dolphins and sea otters look cute but they are rapist bastards.

HowAboutAH0tCupOfShutTheHellUp · 31/03/2021 20:32

@Let2020beoversoon

Haven’t RTFT but any kind of doodle is a mongrel and whoever came up with the name is a marketing genius. Give a mongrel a cute name like labradoodle or puggle, and sell it for £££ and people fall for it every time, even when the dog is ugly as sin and everybody is hoping it’ll take all the good traits but nobody knows what’ll happen.
Wow what an original, groundbreaking opinion 😴
Hathertonhariden · 31/03/2021 21:24

@CanICelebrate

Also down AI holidays are brilliant! (Not all of them obviously and we do a mixture of AI and not so I’m particularly biased towards them).

Private schools are almost certainly the better option if you can afford them.

Baby showers are fun!

I've been in the countryside too long. I read that as Artificial Insemination holidays at first glance.

I'll get my coat...Blush

B1rdflyinghigh · 31/03/2021 22:28

Brad Pitt isn't that handsome.
Salt and vinegar crisps are the devils work.
Every meal should consist of seafood.
Creme eggs are awful.

fizbosshoes · 31/03/2021 22:32

Mr Brightside is not the best killers song and isnt guaranteed to get me on the dance floor at the end of a wedding/dinner etc.

WeatherwaxOn · 31/03/2021 22:59

Fizbosshoes no argument from me. I think Brandon Flowers has a dreadful voice. If Mr. Brightside gets played I tend to leave the room.

salsmum · 31/03/2021 23:20

I hate the Beatles their songs are bland.

tangerinelollipop · 31/03/2021 23:20

If we are going to eat meat then we have a moral responsibility to keep the animals we breed for our table in as good and natural a way as possible, and give them as gentle a death as we are able

Yes

SchrodingersImmigrant · 31/03/2021 23:59

@Hathertonhariden 😂😂😂😂

pabloescobarselasticband · 01/04/2021 00:08

@Medeaaah

I've yet to encounter a baby shower I could remotely enjoy. Babies are fabulous. Bunch of grown women wafting around amidst babygrows and cake whilst pretending to be excited about a bloody wooden duck or similar - no thank you.
Yep this ^ they are tacky and incredibly boring. Same goes for gender reveals .
Strugglingtodomybest · 01/04/2021 06:48

Mining can be good for the environment.

fizbosshoes · 01/04/2021 08:24

@B1rdflyinghigh
Agree about salt and vinegar crisps, and creme eggs.
Creme eggs are a huge disappointment (and I say that as someone who eats chocolate every day) I'd rather have a boiled egg than a creme egg.

Theunamedcat · 01/04/2021 08:26

Not all children who protest have a point some are hypocritical just like there parents

Being afraid of new things is perfectly normal we are human beings not sheep

i dunno, that’s between you and your god. no rush though, there’s plenty to go round.

I'm sure a lot of XR are well off uni students who went skiing and on 3 foreign holidays a year, had a gap year finding themselves in Sri Lanka, before becoming vegan and deciding air travel is a bad thing for everyone else

Nepotism pisses me off , especially offspring of celebrity models and singers who get their children the gigs because mum and dad were famous once. I've read about a few who are already parading around with designer bags and on the front of some mag or whatever.
Same goes for celebrity authors too! I bet they only get their mediocre books published because of their name when most it is chick lit drivel that is turned down usually until they discover that the author was once part of a comedy duo on tv or whatever then they get all these endorsements from proper authors who did it the very hard way and wasn't known before.
I'm in a bad mood today !

whitespotsgreenleaves · 01/04/2021 09:26

Actually its between you and your logic.

HypocrisyDoubleStandardsMess · 01/04/2021 09:57

Nepotism isn't as bad as people claim it to be - it's mainly people screaming "Unfair, why does s/he get that and I don't. They should grovel first like the rest of us" than any real issues with it. Most people won't and don't complain when such things favour them.

There's nothing wrong with nepotism except for when the 'lucky' person is clueless and useless but still gets the job/whatever over someone who is qualified.

Everyone practices 'nepotism' in one form or the other - why don't we use a lottery system to pass down our homes instead of giving it straight to our descendants who've never worked for it, some of whom don't deserve it, hmm?

What's a 'family business' if not based on nepotism?

Life isn't fair but we'll be lying to ourselves if we claim we don't look out for loved ones first and won't do it on a grander scale if/when we can. There's a difference.

the80sweregreat · 01/04/2021 10:12

It's the celeb authors that really annoy me : they often only get themselves published with fanfare because of the name. I know it shouldn't wind me up but it does! I'm not a writer or anything myself etc but I just think it's unfair on those struggling to get their work noticed.
It feels wrong. I understand about nepotism and looking out for your own, but it does grind my gears somewhat tis all.

the80sweregreat · 01/04/2021 10:14

Houses and money etc are different to outrageous nepotism in a job ! Lol 😂
Just my unpopular opinion !

fizbosshoes · 01/04/2021 10:19

So I have a thing about celebrities putting their name to stuff they most likely have absolutely nothing to do with. (Nigella/Jamie cookware in the early 2000s, celeb ranges of jewellery, perfume, clothes etc, VB allegedly "designed" the interior of a range rover once...Confused) ...but I suppose if there wasnt a market for that type of stuff they couldnt do it....?

the80sweregreat · 01/04/2021 10:30

I'm sure the celebs did write the books. I can't say about the other things as I don't buy designer things like cookery pans or whatever
It's just that the majority of said books are not worth it or even that good and only on the shelves because of their name.

DS is a huge David Walliams fan! Blush
I have to admit I thought a few of the early ones were ok, but now they seem all very samey, stereo typed and repetitive with jokes that were funny a long time ago. It was a cause for much celebration at christmas when DS asked for a book by an author none of us had heard of!
