Lighthearted, give me your unpopular opinions.

I can start;

The musical Hamilton and Star Wars are over rated.

OP posts:
UnderHisAye · 31/03/2021 12:18

Oh god, Adele and her Sky Foal in a Crumb Bowl Confused

ivfbabymomma1 · 31/03/2021 12:20

@SpiderinaWingMirror my house is grey but this comment is hilarious!

Medeaaah · 31/03/2021 12:37

Trainers with dresses, skirts and pretty much anything apart from actual sportswear, look ghastly.

Creme Eggs are awful, bland blobs of cheap sugary gunk.

Most cakes and the vast majority of pastries sold in the UK are overly sweet, tasteless and so very uninspiring waste of valuable stomach-space.

Straightening ones' hair is one sure but lesser-known class-indicator.

Most independent schools are filled by desperate social-climbers from the lower-middle-class, who are dragging their lower-middle-class habits with them and thus polluting the very 'rarefied environment' they so aspire to be part of.

thenightsky · 31/03/2021 12:43

@SchadenfreudePersonified

Nick Knowles looks like he steals horses

Hell's bells!

He DOES!!!!!

How have I never noticed this before? Shock

OMG! He really does. Shock
Benjispruce2 · 31/03/2021 12:43

@Medeaaah you sound delightfulWink

riddles26 · 31/03/2021 12:44

@HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee

Housewives owe working mums a huge debt we demonstrate employment & careers. It’s us your kids meet at careers days,us your kids meet when they come to the workplace. Housewives can’t reliably or accurately describe working because you don’t do it. Don’t bother with all that used to be a manager,public sector,corporate because you’re not doing it now. You’ve delegated that task

I pity your children - they have a mother who clearly thinks she's superior to other parents and shows utter ignorance for the value SAHMs are to society. You are no role model with that attitude and I would hate for my children to inherit such a trait

riddles26 · 31/03/2021 12:45

*the value SAHMs have in society.

MinnieMous3 · 31/03/2021 12:53

Would you rather everyone was kept in their place?

Medeaaah · 31/03/2021 13:02

@Benjispruce2

I am. Painfully charming, that's me. However, in case you haven't noticed, this is the thread for .... wait for it.... unpopular opinions.

What would be the point to post lovey-dovey woke crap here, pray tell.

Also, vet bills have reached ridiculous levels.

Having a dog/cat/hamster etc. ad nauseam, lick ones' face and sleep in ones' bed, is revolting.

I do know what I'm talking about regarding your common- or garden indies. Bastions of lower-middle classes. Hmm

fucknuckle · 31/03/2021 13:31

i’m sorry for ruining Nick Knowles for everyone.

BRB2021 · 31/03/2021 13:35

@fucknuckle

i’m sorry for ruining Nick Knowles for everyone.
I dont think you are to blame - I think it is the copious amounts of pies and the (I presume) lack of bathing facilities that has ruined him
Hathertonhariden · 31/03/2021 13:39

@tangerinelollipop

Boden is overpriced and poor quality

You know you'll get into trouble, don't you? Grin

Quite probably but I was totally underwhelmed when I tried them out. Items that I'd heard people raving about were thinner and poorer quality than supermarket versions. Sent it all back and haven't been back.
GabsAlot · 31/03/2021 13:50

i like adele think shes quite genuine but yes she looked better before-i think she looks ill now

CanICelebrate · 31/03/2021 13:57

Holidays in the UK are not ‘proper holidays’ in the same way that going abroad is. I judge people who can afford to go abroad but choose to take their children on UK holidays instead.

Pandora bracelets can be pretty (although not always!)

Being a teacher is harder work than most people on MN could even comprehend!

CanICelebrate · 31/03/2021 14:00

Also down AI holidays are brilliant! (Not all of them obviously and we do a mixture of AI and not so I’m particularly biased towards them).

Private schools are almost certainly the better option if you can afford them.

Baby showers are fun!

UnderHisAye · 31/03/2021 14:00

Not sure you can ruin Nick Knowles, who manages to juggle both skanky and smarmy. Bleurgh.

jessstan2 · 31/03/2021 14:00

CanICelebrate, I don't agree with your first paragraph; some of our best holidays were in this country. It never occurred to me anyone would 'judge' us for that.

I do agree with your second and third paras.

CanICelebrate · 31/03/2021 14:00

*some not down! Bloody autocorrect!

CanICelebrate · 31/03/2021 14:03

@jessstan2

My first paragraph was a bit harsh sorry!
I think I only judge the ones I know that try to convert me to UK holidays!

MinnieMous3 · 31/03/2021 14:18

Baby showers are fun!

I don’t get this puriticanical attitude in the U.K. where happy joyous gatherings are actually discouraged as ‘naff’. Who cares? A baby is a much bigger event than turning 21, why shouldn’t someone have a bit of a gathering and be shown some love and excitement? Regardless, nobody ever lay on their death bed complaining they had had too much fun with friends and family.

Medeaaah · 31/03/2021 14:31

I've yet to encounter a baby shower I could remotely enjoy. Babies are fabulous. Bunch of grown women wafting around amidst babygrows and cake whilst pretending to be excited about a bloody wooden duck or similar - no thank you.

the80sweregreat · 31/03/2021 14:42

I'm glad that baby gender reveals or baby showers were not a thing in my day!
They sound hard work. It's bad enough being pregnant as it is sometimes!

MinnieMous3 · 31/03/2021 14:44

Other people throw it @the80sweregreat

@Medeaaah so you don’t enjoy afternoon tea or a few glasses of Prosecco, a catch up with friends, a few games and giving a few baby gifts?

the80sweregreat · 31/03/2021 14:45

Ahh, that's ok then! Lol
Bit late now though!

VeganCow · 31/03/2021 14:46

Eating animals is wrong and unnecessary.
