Lighthearted, give me your unpopular opinions.

I can start;

The musical Hamilton and Star Wars are over rated.

Dd1 to kids apply via ucas to come to your house? Do you talk to prospective candidates who want to be a housewife? Do you read my posts I want to be a housewife what do I put in the supporting statement

No to all above. Because it’s not a job it’s not a career

Housewives owe working mums a huge debt we demonstrate employment & careers. It’s us your kids meet at careers days,us your kids meet when they come to the workplace. Housewives can’t reliably or accurately describe working because you don’t do it. Don’t bother with all that used to be a manager, public sector, corporate because you’re not doing it now. You’ve delegated that task
Ridiculous crap! Women who have left the workplace to raise their children absolutely do have knowledge to impart. All mothers deserve respect whether they choose to stay at home or choose/have to go to work; it’s not a bloody competition.
piddocktrumperiness · 30/03/2021 18:25

Bidets need to be designed into bathrooms. I don't like the idea that so many don't wash their bums after a poop- but just use tissue/maybe a wipe and think that's ok.

Men should wash their hands after a wee and not just do the wiggle

I hope when you help write supporting statements your grammar and punctuation is not as bad as it is on your MN posts. You sound barely literate.

Another working mum here! 🙌
And you’re talking shit.

My mum gave up her career to be a SAHM mum and I am so grateful to her. She went back to it when we were teens but she made my childhood ace. I am contemplating giving up work to do the same for my DC. Nobody owes me anything as a working mum, but I owe my SAHM mum a lot.

I state my opinion
I don’t need your approbation

Neotraditional · 30/03/2021 18:34

@HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee you haven’t touched a nerve, you just sound stupid and you’re being called out on it! I would imagine most people reading your nonsense posts are laughing at your stupidity and hoping you aren’t giving their children ‘advice’.

I’m a working mother by the way.

Cam77 · 30/03/2021 18:37

So- called “democratic” governments (actually oligarchies) only actually govern in the interest of the majority when there is a state of violent uprising or a threat of violence uprising. Apart from that the only time he will govern for the interests of the country at large is the occasional circumstances when the interests of the elite do align with those of the masses (quite rare).

But do they put they want to be supermarket workers? Cleaners? Labourers, window cleaners, car cleaners?

No. Do you think they don’t have any value either?

You can post what you like and I can respond with my point of view.

It's supposed to be fucking light hearted.

Honestly, how does half an mn hold down jobs when they can't process a simple instruction in the op

heidbuttsupper · 30/03/2021 18:51

I hate the light nights

Prettybubblesintheair · 30/03/2021 18:57

Ok maybe that was a bad example as thinking about it yes if my teenage children didn’t want my partner to move in I’d be very sad but would respect their wishes but i would do all I could to fix it, family counselling etc. Ultimately though no, I would not move a partner in if they didn’t want me to so I apologise for using that as an example. I think I was referring to a recent thread where a 5 year old was consulted about a house move, I don’t think very young children should have a say in huge, adult decisions because they don’t have the emotional maturity to look at it from all sides.

I do have children, and a (happily...I’m very lucky) blended family.

Clothes from Toast are basically oversized burial shrouds.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hamhockandmash · 30/03/2021 19:14

@Prettybubblesintheair I only asked as I can barely get the hoover around with DC, let alone do everything you do for when your husband gets home! You must be super efficient....or maybe I’m just a slacker!

Kdubs1981 · 30/03/2021 19:15

@MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously

Going on holiday is often more hassle than it's worth. It's not relaxing if you have small children.
A thousand times this!!

Any holidays with young children / toddlers made me slightly depressed. All I came home with was a pile of dirty washing and it was hardly a rest. Camping was awful. (I know people love it though !)
Ratter stay at home.

Me too, criiiiiiiiinge.

SAHMs (if they can afford it) aren’t taking up jobs that someone else might really need for a bit of pin money.

No it's not.

You take an animal on - any animal - and you assume responsibility for its welfare.

It has no choice but to go with you, and is wholly dependent upon you for EVERYTHING.

If you aren't prepared to do your best to give it a good life, then don't get a pet.

Animals aren't toys, they are living, breathing creatures with complex emotional lives. And they deserve love, respect and the best care we can give them.
