What shall we name our house?

Where I'm from all the houses have names instead of numbers.

We're moving into a new house next month and we'd like to change the current name of it.

It's a bungalow on a corner plot but The Corner House just doesn't have a nice ring to it!

Any ideas hive mind? Thank you!

Am I the only one now with this wonderful song going around in my head?!

Many rivers across the world seem to have names that basically translate as 'river' in one language or another.

If it's alright for them, I don't see why somebody needing a name for their private dwelling shouldn't be perfectly at liberty to call it Norman (obviously short for 'Normanclature').

Sporner Corner.

A rather pompous ex of mine once told me that his Dad had called their house 'Black Bush' because of a plant out front. A front bush if you like.

They had registered the name but someone must have laughed so they chose to leave it off the address and just go with the number.

That house name generator gave me Roundaboutside and Hail Manor 😂

@ViciousJackdaw

The Cinnamons or Excalibur Cottage
My dream is to name my house The Cinnamons. DH refuses but I'm not letting it go.

Tre is homestead/settlement. Lots of Tre...s here, including ours named by first owners in 1956.

Kezzie200 · 13/03/2021 20:16

A relative owned Boot Hill View as he looked over a cemetery and apparently Boot Hill is a cemetery in a famous film...John Wayne?

I'd love to be a fly on your banquette Grin

Feel free to come round.

That's very kind of you, but it's my Bondathon weekend right now. The only breaks I have between the episodes of classic British derring-do have already been firmly marked in the schedule by Lynn for dumps and essential nutrition - namely Michael's supremely hot Bramley pasties served with crescents of crisps and side-clumps of cress.

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 14/03/2021 00:12

Don’t forget your hot egg.

I also have a buck rodgers toilet.

Handy with your meal choices I should expect Wink
