What shall we name our house?

Where I'm from all the houses have names instead of numbers.

We're moving into a new house next month and we'd like to change the current name of it.

It's a bungalow on a corner plot but The Corner House just doesn't have a nice ring to it!

Any ideas hive mind? Thank you!

There’s a house near us that, I’m not making this up, is called The House at Hell Corner. 😬

Is there a part of the world you like? If so look up ordnance survey maps or historic maps and choose an old name from there.

I feel like if you don't name it Norman now that it will be unlucky or haunted.

Cocomarine · 11/03/2021 20:32

upvoting Norman

Make it easy to spell over the phone.

A former colleague pretended insisted his house only had a name (an unpronounceable Gaelic Hill - eg "Bealach na Bo" ) not a number.
Another colleague joked that the house name was "Bealach na Bo I'll spell it for you". Don't be that person.

FlibbertyGiblets · 11/03/2021 23:34

Something unexpected like Jampot Corner.

Stoppissingonmyheather · 11/03/2021 23:40

Nothing else has such a nice ring to it as Norman you could call it Norman Towers or Norman Heights or Norman Manor and let people think it has significance but actually just Norman or Norma would be perfect

Ha Grin I just tried this. I live near a health centre. It suggested healthcentreside.

Personally, I'd go with Norman.
