The latest royal family drama

It's like a TV show. How embarrassing!

www.thetimes.co.uk/article/royal-aides-reveal-meghan-bullying-claim-before-oprah-interview-7sxfvd2c3

The latest is that Meghan is accused of bullying staff. Harry and Meghan then responded that Buckingham Palace was using the Times to peddle false stories/a smear campaign. So presumably the "leak" comes from Buckingham Palace/the Queen.

It's all so childish. Why can't they all just be grateful for the extremely cushy life that they have!

I'll be watching the Oprah interview. I think the royals never come across well in these kind of things. Like Andrew's awful interview...he's just so out of touch with reality. And I think that's a characteristic that Harry unfortunately shares with him.

My issue with H&M is that I want to be happy for them but they make it so difficult.
When they upped and moved to the states and said they were bowing out of public life I thought “good for you”. But they can’t actually keep away from public life it seems and most of what they’re doing nowadays just comes across like desperate attention-seeking. Every time it goes a bit quiet they pop up with another interview/lecture. Surely they have enough money to just go and lead the private life they supposedly want? It’s like they can’t physically do it, and are drawn like moths to a flame to the media attention, without the self-awareness to realise how hypocritical it comes across to the public.
Most people just really don’t care about them, wish them well and want them to bugger off never to be seen again!

Wondermule · 03/03/2021 09:01

@TheKeatingFive

My guess is as good as anyone else’s

Nope. Your ‘guess‘ as someone who’s never met them is pure fiction.

Like the rest of this thread then really?
Sparklingbrook · 03/03/2021 09:02

@PurpleHoodie

Sparkling

No. But Piers Morgan might pop along soon to obsess some more over Meghan.

I haven't seen GMB this morning, thankfully. I expect he's purple with rage as ever.

This poor couple get blasted for everything they do. In they eyes of the British media they can’t do anything right. Some of the articles that came out about her after her miscarriage were awful, however her sharing that news would have made lots of couples going through the same thing feel less alone. They were then also slammed for being ‘attention seeking’ for sharing their pregnancy announcement, I’m sure if they hadn’t and someone papped Meghan with a huge bump a couple of months from now the media would have gone crazy. Bizarrely as Brits we thought we owned Harry, and are basically throwing our toys out of the pram because he’s got married and moved with her back to her country. A relatively normal thing to do.

Absolutely

He's apoplectic.

It's actually becoming really creepy now.

I used to find him entertaining, but he's pretty unwatchable now, since the pandemic and now H&M. IIRC Meghan ghosted him and he can't cope with it.
Anne1958 · 03/03/2021 09:10

I think Meghan is one of those people who are never to blame for their part in anything. It’s always other people.

Roussette · 03/03/2021 09:11

I feel sorry for Harry but he needs to grow a back bone and stand up to Megan before she destroys him

NEWFLASH... a 36 year old man has been duped and kidnapped by a woman. He didn't want to be with her but she manipulated him into this relationship and she is determined to destroy him.

Really... have a look at yourself for this ridiculous stupid statement.

Roussette · 03/03/2021 09:13

I bety he's imploded into a huge festering bubble of toxic waste. All because she didn't want to have a coffee with him because she got the measure of him.

PurpleHoodie · 03/03/2021 09:13

Pretty much. It came up again this week.

GMB is so much nicer when he's not on. And politico types actually answer questions when he's not there.

Roussette · 03/03/2021 09:14

@Dryshampooandcoffee

Great post. So agree.

Wondermule · 03/03/2021 09:14

People who predicted Harry and Meghan would leave the RF and go back to the States, even predicted they would end up on Oprah etc 😂

And at the time Meghan supporters were all ‘How ridiculous that’s not going to happen’

Now it has happened they’re all ‘They had no choice etc etc’

Yes but they do have the choice of a private life. They could’ve bought a big house in Canada near Meghan’s friends and lived in peace. But no they chose LA, literally the most media-packed place on Earth. So 🤷🏼‍♀️

I honestly think Piers needs some help with this and , although I don't watch GMB, I am surprised at his employers not telling him to cool it. But then it gets viewers I suppose so they let him rant and rave about her.
Whoever his co-presenters are, they are complicit in this too. So they're low in my estimation also

Kinsters · 03/03/2021 09:17

I don't think Harry and Meghan asked for privacy. They obviously don't like the way the press have treated them but that wasn't why they left. They just wanted to make their own money. It was all about "financial independence".

I'm very intrigued by what's going to come up in the interview! Could this times article be Buckingham palace trying to do some damage control because they have some idea what's going to be said?

Well done them! They can't be criticised for leeching off the taxpayers then... unlike the rest of the RF and non working Royals like PA.

GreySkyClouds · 03/03/2021 09:18

I think the press should be more interested in princess andrew. This feels like a clever distraction from him.

SunbathingDragon · 03/03/2021 09:19

I expect Harry and Meghan will sue The Times and The Telegraph over these articles. After all, the alternative would be to suggest that they are true...

It is interesting that there were so many articles in other papers from sources within the Palace with regards to the time between when Meghan become engaged to Harry and then stepped back which were widely ridiculed. Then they appeared in Finding Freedom, a book that a judge publicly stated Meghan contributed to. Interestingly, these weren’t articles that litigant-happy Harry and Meghan sued over either.

By all means Harry and Meghan should be able to live a quiet and harmonious life wherever in the world they wish, and of course they should earn money to fund their lifestyle. I suspect the Palace would be quite happy to let them be if that’s what they did but tell all interviews or the threat of them will be something they will fight against with nobody coming out well. After all, it true and Meghan is an abusive bully then the Palace knew and didn’t do enough to protect their staff which is totally unacceptable.

Roussette · 03/03/2021 09:19

@ThePinkWig 😂

Will you carry on for us then?! Would be great if you would... stop it descending into a cesspit of hate for two human beings!

Mockolate · 03/03/2021 09:19

@bubblesforlife

I just wish when they asked for privacy, they remained private too.! The New York Times Spotify Netflix Oprah Corden show The book That’s just one year of their activity.

Why not try and cool it off, spend time as a family and stop looking for trouble/attention with the royal family and the media. They would have so much more respect for it. Harry is right to protect his family.
But they say one thing then do another.
The media would do us all favour if they stopped reporting it so they just buggered off the headlines for a while.

Can you not see that there's a difference between wanting the toxic press to back the fuck off and making stuff up/shit stirring, and wanting publicity for say things like any good causes they may be speaking up for?! I notice the DM has absolutely ramped up the negative stuff lately, anyone would think they were just in a bad mood because H and M sued them and won Grin As for Piers M, he is coming over absolutely obsessed with her, and not in a good way. I do not blame them for getting out, good on them, it must have been utterly toxic.

Yes but one of the points of contention is that they shouldn't be using their royal status to make money hence why titles etc need to go (though in reality that will always be the case even for untitled royals like Zara and whatever her brother is called...Peter).

You realise he's a grown man, right?!
Why would she "destroy him", what are you even basing this on?!
