The latest royal family drama

It's like a TV show. How embarrassing!

www.thetimes.co.uk/article/royal-aides-reveal-meghan-bullying-claim-before-oprah-interview-7sxfvd2c3

The latest is that Meghan is accused of bullying staff. Harry and Meghan then responded that Buckingham Palace was using the Times to peddle false stories/a smear campaign. So presumably the "leak" comes from Buckingham Palace/the Queen.

It's all so childish. Why can't they all just be grateful for the extremely cushy life that they have!

I'll be watching the Oprah interview. I think the royals never come across well in these kind of things. Like Andrew's awful interview...he's just so out of touch with reality. And I think that's a characteristic that Harry unfortunately shares with him.

@TheKeatingFive

There's nothing really happening icw Prince Andrew at the moment though. So there isn't anything that needs to be distracted from

You absolutely don’t know that. Who knows what shit threatens to surface at any given time that they have to quieten. And it’s worth noting that Andrew isn’t the only royal they’re invested in keeping out of the papers.

But neither do you know the contrary

And there does not appear to be anything from the investigations at present - and you're surely not seriously trying to say that the Palace is smothering how a US-led investigation is interacting with the press?

Coverage is zilch, everywhere, right now

Ohthatsgreat · 03/03/2021 08:40

Which is why bringing up old stuff about Sussexes just doesn't make sense

It’s an aide that has leaked the to the Times. It says they’ve done it because they feel the Palace isn’t handling the currently situation well and wanted to tell the other side of the story which no one has been able to.

The story doesn’t actually reflect well on BP who are accused of allowing staff to be bullied and doing nothing about it. The allegations are serious, women who worked for the Sussexes reduced to tears, stress and shaking. The head of HR was informed and no action taken, and people left employment.
Other employers would be rightly pulled up on this culture.

TheKeatingFive · 03/03/2021 08:40

There are no direct quotes it’s all written in a very clever way

Whadda surprise Hmm

Shame shit, different day

I’ll post this again. One day it might go in.

@OutComeTheWolves
Great post earlier on that others have repeated. Sums up what I think.

It's all dross. Diana was rebuked for screaming at staff. Kate has been reprimanded for being sharp with staff. And this article is the Palace doing their bit because H&M had the cheek to leave the toxic press over here.

percheron67 · 03/03/2021 08:42

Am I the only person who thinks it very odd that Meghan waited until after a wedding that cost we taxpayers masses of money and made sure she became one of the most recognisable faces in the world, before she found living a "royal" life something she did not want to do? She was at very close quarters with that life for quite some time before the wedding.

TheKeatingFive · 03/03/2021 08:43

But neither do you know the contrary

Never said I did.

I’m simply pointing out that no reporting doesn’t mean nothing going on behind the scenes. Who the fuck knows?

Roussette · 03/03/2021 08:44

Keating worth repeating again and again.

And anyone who thinks everything you read about MM and Harry is right... have a look at this

'This is the Sun asking someone to write an article to assassinate her character'

twitter.com/KaindeB/status/1367015773235986434

It is a live talk and cannot be disputed.
So there you go... journalists are asked to make up stories about Meghan Markle.

And this is why I believe very little in our toxic press and why I understand H&M leaving

Oldbutstillgotit · 03/03/2021 08:48

I don’t think anyone would disagree that PA is an obnoxious, arrogant sleaze ball which is why there isn’t really any discussion about him . The interview was an absolute disaster and he has clearly been told to lie low which he has .
H and M however are not prepared to do that . I suspect ( obviously no proof ) that M is driving the desire for interviews etc as she clearly has an axe to grind.
I have said it before on a now deleted thread ; what is the point of the interview? We know they weren’t happy . They said so when they were in Africa ( very poor timing IMO) , there have been numerous sources leaking information and then there is Finding Freedom.
RF interviews do not go well ( Diana, Charles , Andrew) and I cannot imagine this one will be any different .

bubblesforlife · 03/03/2021 08:49

I just wish when they asked for privacy, they remained private too.!
The New York Times
Spotify
Netflix
Oprah
Corden show
The book
That’s just one year of their activity.

Why not try and cool it off, spend time as a family and stop looking for trouble/attention with the royal family and the media. They would have so much more respect for it. Harry is right to protect his family.
But they say one thing then do another.
The media would do us all favour if they stopped reporting it so they just buggered off the headlines for a while.

SugarfreeBlitz · 03/03/2021 08:49

It's.....Jezza with teeth! Grin

(usually Jeremy Kyles people dont have many, but the RF have good dentists, obviously!)

Wondermule · 03/03/2021 08:50

Harry and Meghan are completely out of their depth. Harry has had advisors to tell him what to do for his whole life, and Meghan was nowhere near famous enough before meeting him to know how to manage the media.

I get the feeling when they met and Harry decried his poor treatment at the hands of MSM, Meghan was all ‘Whaaat! That’s ridiculous, we will be the ones putting them in their place’ and basically it’s all backfired horribly, because she didn’t understand how being ‘royal’ differs from ‘celebrity’ in the public eye.

I also think they will never really be able to settle down in one place and have stable, fruitful careers. They seem to change everything constantly, from their house to their website to their alleged ‘mission’. Couples who are unable to stick out the day to day without having some new project on the go, are usually the couples that need distraction as they actually don’t have much in common. I think they keep changing things as the thought of being ‘done’ and then just having to live out life together, doesn’t appeal deep down.

bubblesforlife · 03/03/2021 08:51

^ oh add Disney to that list too.
Busy public bees!

TheKeatingFive · 03/03/2021 08:52

They. Didn’t.

Roussette · 03/03/2021 08:52

bubble There was a period when they were quiet for months. They even managed to move from Canada to US and be there for 6 weeks without anyone knowing.
It. Did. Not. Stop.

On here, in the press, everywhere. The frenzy to find something to talk about with them, it go to the point of regurgitating old stuff. The media does not stop.

jessycake · 03/03/2021 08:53

The Royal family is just a business and the royals are just players . We have a heir and two spares, so I don't blame Harry for wanting to live a different sort of life , but he will be made to pay for it, in the short time at least .

Roussette · 03/03/2021 08:55

Absolutely right. He is being made to pay for it. By the RF itself, by the media (how dare that awful woman take away our prince) and by some of the public who feel they own the RF

Not just aimed at you by the way, but amateur psychologising of people you haven’t met makes you sound totally ridiculous.

It’s a constant with H&M for some reason.

Sparklingbrook · 03/03/2021 08:57

Oooh another speculative thread about Harry and Meghan. Anything new being said-not sure I CBA to read it.

isitspringyet · 03/03/2021 08:57

Never heard of them when they went off to Canada.. I just don’t why they agreed to do a prime time interview - especially Harry he’s always hated the media and knows you do this kind of stuff they won’t go away

My guess is as good as anyone else’s. Nobody said you had to be a psychologist to post on this thread. So you’re the one who sounds a bit ridiculous mate
Pixxie7 · 03/03/2021 08:59

I feel sorry for Harry but he needs to grow a back bone and stand up to Megan before she destroys him.

TheKeatingFive · 03/03/2021 08:59

Nope. Your ‘guess‘ as someone who’s never met them is pure fiction.

PurpleHoodie · 03/03/2021 09:00

Sparkling

No. But Piers Morgan might pop along soon to obsess some more over Meghan.
