The latest royal family drama

It's like a TV show. How embarrassing!

www.thetimes.co.uk/article/royal-aides-reveal-meghan-bullying-claim-before-oprah-interview-7sxfvd2c3

The latest is that Meghan is accused of bullying staff. Harry and Meghan then responded that Buckingham Palace was using the Times to peddle false stories/a smear campaign. So presumably the "leak" comes from Buckingham Palace/the Queen.

It's all so childish. Why can't they all just be grateful for the extremely cushy life that they have!

I'll be watching the Oprah interview. I think the royals never come across well in these kind of things. Like Andrew's awful interview...he's just so out of touch with reality. And I think that's a characteristic that Harry unfortunately shares with him.

@Mummy195

*real reasons people don’t like her, such as:
  1. She lectures about inequality and poverty after choosing to join a hereditary Royal Family
  2. She lectures about feminism after giving up her job and life to marry into royalty and take a title courtesy of her husband which she still uses.
  3. She lectures about the environment while flying around on private jets.

Essentially she wants to tell other people what to do, while doing the precise opposite herself.

Kate has done these things too, but she doesn’t hypocritically lecture people about them *

These simply cannot be the reasons at all :

  1. She was already a millionaire by the time she joined the RF, and was already talking and helping the poor. Spokeperson for UN etc. Also a lot of rich ppl help and talk about poverty, like all the time.
  1. Feminists get married all the time and may take up the husband's name - which judging by the media, she has not insisted on since she is still called MM. Why on earth would she not take the tile, has nothing to do with feminism.

3.K&W were not hated after lecturing Africans for over breeding, while K was pregnant with 3rd child. Nor were they hated for lecturing on Mending earth, then jumping on a private jet.

Try again.

  1. There are self made wealthy people then there is the hereditary monarchy. If you cannot see the difference, then I’m not sure there is space in this text box to explain it to you. Think of stolen land, stolen wealth, taxpayer money that should be going to public services, nepotism, class, etc
  1. Of course it does. No true feminist would take an honorary title courtesy of their husband’s senseless privilege. Not only that but titles are ridiculously unequal and elitist, see point 1. She chooses to still use it.
  1. Kate has never proclaimed to be a feminist or a promoter of social equality as far as I am aware. I accept she may have been hypocritical in other ways though.

They were being given money by Charles six months ago - no idea if that’s changed.

According to the Sussex Royal website, they will still receive 95% of funding for their office expenditure from "income allocated by HRH The Prince of Wales, generated through the Duchy of Cornwall." The remaining 5% of their funding, which was received from the government's Sovereign Grant, Harry and Meghan will relinquish.

A few things to note about this statement :

  • The timing. First and foremost. Reported before? yes right at the beginning of the smear campaign. When she was labeled difficult.

Jason Knauf :

  • H&M did not appoint him, he was employed for them as Head of Communications.
  • He is friends who went to uni with Dan Wooten, who was suddenly on a rampage against the Sussexes.
  • Soon as he arrived, all sorts of stories were leaked to the press. Most notably, Dan Wootton pretty much took over as royal correspondent of the Sun (he is not RR), and had scoops like the exit. DW also said that the RF were the ones licking stories about H&M.
  • Byline Investigates wrote an article that they said they had been threaten not to by DW and the paper, but said they were so confident it was true they would print it anyway
www.bylineinvestigates.com/murdoch/royal-exclusive-prince-harrys-legal-move-over-cash-for-briefings-claims-at-the-sun-the-story-murdoch-tried-to-bury

In my view JK is the one who had 'no comment' about anything bad being reported on H&M. I also recall him being portrayed in a good light on FF, and I think he portrayed himself in that way. As a result, because he was employed by H&M at the time, MM had to legally acknowledge that they had a hand in FF.

If there’s any truthful dirt to find out about ANY of them it will come out. It’s simply a matter of time.

Yes it has changed drastically. Just read recent stuff.

Roussette · 03/03/2021 15:35

Sorry... I wasn't saying to you 'you go and just read it'

I mean, I have just read it

Roussette · 03/03/2021 15:37

Jason Knauf went to H&M's wedding. There's pics of him with his wife trotting up to the church.

H&M promoted him whilst they worked for him also.
He now works for W&K

mummywantstobeslim · 03/03/2021 15:40

To be honest, does anybody really care? MM was treated very badly when she briefly lived in the UK.

Lampzade · 03/03/2021 15:41

Sorry, but I cannot get wound up about alleged bullying when the PA issue is not being addressed.
As the mother of two teenaged girls that makes my blood boil. I truly believe that they are throwing The Sussexes under the bus in order to distract attention from other members of the Royal Family who have not behaved appropriately .
There are so many things that the public don’t know about and done would do anything to preserve the monarchy

SunbathingDragon · 03/03/2021 15:42

Sounds very much as if Jason Knauf’s integrity is being questioned. Why is it that he is being considered a liar rather than telling the truth?

I’m intrigued, tell me all these things that the public don’t know but you clearly do in order to know that they exist.

As a mother or daughters, I’m perfectly capable of discussing someone as a separate individual without the need to involve a relative.

Historically, kings and queens and their family have always behaved badly and this is surely just a modern day version of heads rolling.

Oh Roussette - trotting? Really?

As their head of comms, he couldn’t have been better placed to see what was going on. I think it’s very telling that the silence from California has been deafening in the last 12 hours. They were fast enough to issue a snippy rejoinder to the Queen’s statement last week.

Mummy195 · 03/03/2021 15:50

H&M have already put out a statement on this article.

VinylDetective · 03/03/2021 15:51

H&M have already put out a statement on this article.
Have they? I’m surprised nobody’s mentioned or linked to it.
Mummy195 · 03/03/2021 15:51

Oh, and I forgot to say that reportedly, JK wrote that email without the staff member knowing anything about it. When said staff found out, they told him to retract it.

Mummy195 · 03/03/2021 15:52

Been mentioned a few times on here.

It sounded like a resigned statement..............how sad they thought it all was.

Your daughters may end up bullied in the workplace. Would that not matter?

And you’re making the classic mistake of thinking people who have a negative impression of Meghan are monarchists, or that by disliking Meghan you are somehow approving of PA.

Roussette · 03/03/2021 15:53

Ummm..... like anyone on any forum, I have a certain turn of phrase. Call it sayings I was brought up with. My dear old Mum always used to say 'I'm trotting off to the shops'. One of my DCs says it too, it makes me laugh
There is no need for you to take offence or pick up on any posters' colloquialisms, nothing was meant by it whatsoever. .

Sparklingbrook · 03/03/2021 15:56

@Roussette if you wanted to really wind people up you should say 'rocking up to the church'. Grin

Roussette · 03/03/2021 15:58

I'll try that next time!

VinylDetective · 03/03/2021 16:02

I wasn’t offended but MN annoys the hell out of me by describing people as waltzing, parading and swanning when it wants to be derogatory. Trotting seemed to be of the same ilk.

Roussette · 03/03/2021 16:08

Oh please your flippin' self.
I've taken the time to explain.

Obviously not good enough for you.

Lookingforwardto2021 · 03/03/2021 16:09

@CathyorClaire

Presumably Harry doesn't receive any money from UK tax payers, so I don't understand why anyone cares so much

All the time they're being subbed by Charles who consistently dreams up creative ways to minimise his tax bill (including off-setting said subbing as a business expense) and maximise the expenses he can lay at the tax payer's door we are paying for them albeit indirectly.

Ok, if that is the case then the solution is to stop funding the monarchy.

A father can support his adult children, loads do on MN.

But there is no reasonable argument to support the lack of accountability and lack of transparency in how taxpayer money is funnelled into the RF

Was it in the same ilk at 'preaching', tone-deaf', 'woke' etc. ?

“Kate has never proclaimed to be a feminist or a promoter of social equality as far as I am aware. I accept she may have been hypocritical in other ways though”

I don’t get it. So it is better to be misogynistic through and through, rather than be a feminist who sometimes falls short?
