The latest royal family drama

It's like a TV show. How embarrassing!

www.thetimes.co.uk/article/royal-aides-reveal-meghan-bullying-claim-before-oprah-interview-7sxfvd2c3

The latest is that Meghan is accused of bullying staff. Harry and Meghan then responded that Buckingham Palace was using the Times to peddle false stories/a smear campaign. So presumably the "leak" comes from Buckingham Palace/the Queen.

It's all so childish. Why can't they all just be grateful for the extremely cushy life that they have!

I'll be watching the Oprah interview. I think the royals never come across well in these kind of things. Like Andrew's awful interview...he's just so out of touch with reality. And I think that's a characteristic that Harry unfortunately shares with him.

Snap @TerribleCustomerCervix! Great minds and all that!

TheCatWithTheFluffyTail · 03/03/2021 13:49

@Roussette

And let's please be specific on this. Andrew has not been stripped of his military honours, titles and military patronages (Commander-in-Chief, Colonel-in-Chief and so on). Harry has been stripped of them all. For protecting his family. A tad unfair maybe?
I think Andrew should lose his titles but I interpret it as being he has stepped back without a final decision being made. When Harry stepped back, he retained many titles until last month when a final decision was made and he lost them then.

I don’t think anyone who steps back (voluntarily or not) from being a senior member of the royal family should retain their patronages or be in the line of succession. Dukedoms seem to be given as wedding gifts, which feels different to me. Likewise the Prince/Princess etc titles they are born with.

Has Harry actually complained about having HRH taken away?

@Roussette

Vinyl and Andrew is a non working Royal just the same but he was pushed as opposed to resigning. But still has all that I mentioned.
Andrew has stepped down from (or been kicked out of) over 200 patronages apparently. I imagine there’s a fair bit of pressure on the Queen to relieve him of the military titles purely because he can’t do the job properly. I guess she’s running a bit short of people to take those roles now.
SugarfreeBlitz · 03/03/2021 13:55

Wow 200 patronages! Well, I suppose if you mix with dodgy people people are going to think there's no smoke without fire. He should go to US and face questioning like any other person.

It hasn’t been taken away, so why would he complain?

He just isn’t to use it, but who would in a country miles from home that doesn’t have titles?

Have Clinton and Trump been questioned yet? I understand there is evidence and photos of them as well.
Roussette · 03/03/2021 13:56

Yes his charity ones... the golf clubs and associations all over the world. 😂 Not his military patronages.

I said that he retains his military roles.

If there was ever a case of having your cake and wanting to eat it then Prince Harry is the one.

I do think he'll regret his decision one day - if it really was his idea in the first place. I'm not sure he's really thought this through even now!

shamalidacdak · 03/03/2021 14:00

Jesus these two seem to be on a path of self destruction. I don't know what they are trying to achieve with this interview. They got the private life and money and kids they wanted yet it's not enough. Why can't they quietly get on with their lives? And the bullying allegations are horrific and probably very true if the Times has run with it. I heard about the hot tea throwing incident in Australia and doubted it but now I don't know.

Roussette · 03/03/2021 14:01

MoChridhe
Oh yes. And we better not talk about Sophie's jewels from ME despots, two lots

MrsKingfisher · 03/03/2021 14:01

God, Meghan is such a terrible actress she's very transparent. Has she been studying Diana's interview of how to look doe eyed and vulnerable on tv? I think whatever the interview it shows a lack of respect to the Queen.

I’m still not over W&K taking a helicopter trip to visit a melting glacier to alert us to climate change!!!

Was that not when they were on an official trip to Pakistan ? If so all arrangements were made by U.K. and Pakistani Governments. As with all Royal Tours .

Mockolate · 03/03/2021 14:03

Wow.

Mockolate · 03/03/2021 14:06

You need to read the tales about Haz on Blind Gossip. You may change your mind

Haz?! Grin
Erm, no idea what Blind Gossip is but if that's the level of "speak" on there, I can feel my brain starting to rot already so will give it a miss lol

PretendSpeedGun · 03/03/2021 14:06

Do you really think that the Marines want to see their Captain General on Oprah slagging off the Head of the Armed Forces?? Or pretending to need the bathroom at the House of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. It would make an absolute mockery of the role.

It's a serious job, not something to be done in between selling out your family and playing the clown on US prime time TV.

Mockolate · 03/03/2021 14:10

Nobody's disputing that it's a serious job, I'm not anyway, but maybe there's nothing wrong with showing that "actually, I'm a real person" too.

Resigning your job has nothing to do with showing you’re a real person.

It was Megs herself who called Harry 'Haz' on the James Corden interview.

PieInTheSky71 · 03/03/2021 14:15

I hope they do say lots on Oprah. Harry stripped of his titles. Prince Andrew keeps his and he's protected by the monarchy while Harry is sold down the river. I know who I'd choose to back.

PretendSpeedGun · 03/03/2021 14:18

There seems to be this weird assumption that anyone who criticises Harry and Meghan is endorsing Prince Andrew

I would like to see Andrew in prison. It does not mean that I can't criticise the actions of his nephew.

Mockolate · 03/03/2021 14:20

Ah OK, haven't seen that interview.
Meghan calling him it in which is presumably a pet name seems more normal and a natural thing to do than strangers to them on a gossip site
