Prince Philip

Just head that Prince Charles has been to visit him in hospital due to ‘exceptional circumstances’. He’s never visited him in hospital before and apparently left looking emotional. It doesn’t look good does it? I wonder how this will play out given the pandemic?
@Sparklingbrook yes it was something like that. Am sure I read she is off screen for 6 months.

Can't stand the woman. And yes she is probably annoyed she isn't there asking ridiculous and patronising questions
The six months only started around 10th December having just googled.

She's missed being awful over so much Royal stuff. Eugenie's baby, Harry and Meghan's ongoing debacle, Zara's pregnancy and now not being able to stand outside the hospital for this. Shock

Who has the watery eyes? I thought it was Philip?

AllFrightOnTheNight · 20/02/2021 19:07

I honestly think if it was real end of life care, he'd stay in the palace with private doctors and nurses.
That said, he is 99.

Benjispruce2 · 20/02/2021 19:08

It’s a matter of time for them both. But given that he walked in I am expecting him to come home.

MrsMackesy · 20/02/2021 19:08

The palace declined to answer
This is usual on medical matters - neither confirm or deny. He is entitled to privacy.

Charles does travel between Highgrove and London - and as a pp said, elsewhere in the country.

tigger1001 · 20/02/2021 19:08

I am not a fan of the royal family, but they are human, and one of their own is in hospital, who is 99 years old. The family should be able to visit without the press speculating why and how serious it is.

Chailatteplease · 20/02/2021 19:09

@HopeClearwater

over 80 years of loving him

What about all his affairs? Royal marriages aren’t fairy tales, you know. They’re about diplomacy.

Because affairs stop you loving someone and override 80 years spent with that person?

The affairs are irrelevant to the loss and grief the queen, or anyone else would experience.

Nameandgamechange123 · 20/02/2021 19:09

At some stage he is going to die. He's had a very interesting life and produced a family. What is there to be upset about? There is so much tragedy in the world...... He would come at the very bottom of my list of worries.

MrsMackesy · 20/02/2021 19:11

It is a matter of time for them both
As it is for all of us.

AlfonsoTheTerrible · 20/02/2021 19:11

I hope he makes it to 100 and gets a telegram from HMTQ.

catinbootsx · 20/02/2021 19:12

@WorryingMum2029

How many 70 odd years olds have completely clear, white eyes Confused

DM clutching at straws there but I don’t argue it’s significant he went.

My mum and dad do

Maybe he asked to see his son? Maybe he wanted to make sure his wife was doing ok and she was being looked after?Maybe he had some things he was requesting to be taken care of and needed to know his instructions were being carried out his way? He is a tough cookie and I bet even now when he says jump they jump! I would imagine for a man like Philip its very hard to let go.When my dad was dyin ghe called me in one day to tell me to look after your mother for me! He didnt need to but he wanted reassurance maybe this could be similar?Time will tell...

GrandTheftWalrus · 20/02/2021 19:18

I've seen comments on fb saying he should hurry up and die.

Take away the fact he is a royal and that is someone's husband, father, grandfather etc.

It will be a sad day for for royals when he does pass away.

Inthevirtualwaitingroom · 20/02/2021 19:19

if my df was 99 and in hospital i would be visiting. unfortunately he died at 50

I wish him a speedy recovery and a comfortable time in hospital. I feel for his family but I confess that I am very envious of him getting visitors. My father is days from death from cancer and we can’t visit him. For my mother 55 years of marriage will end in a phone call, not by his side holding his hand. I wouldn’t wish this torture on Prince Phillip or anyone else.

What a cold-hearted, horrible comment. He certainly won’t be coming at the bottom of the list for his family, who will grieve their loss.
Annoy · 20/02/2021 19:19

He Might not get his birthday card from the queen 😮

LindyLou2020 · 20/02/2021 19:20

@DareIask

Won't Harry have to self isolate if he does travel here?
Yes, for 10 days. And I know this isn't the point of this thread, but he would only be allowed back into the US from the UK if he is a US citizen, or has permanent resident status. Trump banned all other travellers to the US if they had been in the UK, and certain other countries, in the previous 14 days, and Biden has not changed this. Harry is certainly not a citizen yet, and AFAIK does not have permanent resident, (Green Card) status. I only know about these rules because my daughter lives in the US. I don't know under what rules Harry is living in the US, but it is highly likely he may have been given special "diplomatic" status. I feel bad being bitter if this is the case, but it would just prove the "one rule for them.........etc" unfairness.

Not if he was your family, I would hope?

And that's who people feel for.

Frazzled6 · 20/02/2021 19:21

I don't think it looks great and I don't think we would be aware of the Queen visiting either. I just so hope he pulls through.
