Just head that Prince Charles has been to visit him in hospital due to ‘exceptional circumstances’. He’s never visited him in hospital before and apparently left looking emotional. It doesn’t look good does it? I wonder how this will play out given the pandemic?

Sarahlou63 do you even know what you're talking about?

JustLyra · 20/02/2021 22:24

@LittleDoritt

Visiting at our hospital is for EOL which is "three hours or less" to live. Although I'm sure that the Royals don't have to follow commoners rules.
The hospital here is "expected to die within 72 hours"
SummerHouse · 20/02/2021 22:24

@AlternativePerspective

I really hope he walks out on Monday and sticks two fingers up at those who are intent on speculating that he’s dead/dying/how/where it will happen.
I had this exact thought. Down to the finger swear as we call it. Grin

@Countdowntonothing

New theory: PP needs a kidney or liver and Charles has offered to donate so 30min visit was a pre op assessment.

Just my mind musing on possibilities. Absolutely no evidence to suggest this is actually the case.

I can't see any doctor agreeing to that. Too much for PP but even if it wasn't I can't see it being ethical for a man in his 70s to be an organ donor, unless he was dead possibly.
ssd · 20/02/2021 22:26

He's not walking out of anywhere

GoLightlyontheEarth · 20/02/2021 22:27

How do you know?

SummerHouse · 20/02/2021 22:27

Make it a double finger swear.

ancientgran · 20/02/2021 22:27

@GoLightlyontheEarth

Surely he would want his family around him though, or HM at least?
Not everyone does. I've told my family I don't want people sitting round my bed if I'm dying. They can visit when I'm ill but when it's the end just let me get on with it.
Hotelhelp · 20/02/2021 22:28

Has someone actually suggested the 72 year old future King is being considered as a living donor for his 99 year old father?

I think I’ve heard it all now!

Choppingandchanging · 20/02/2021 22:28

@halcyondays

It’s not looking good is it? I don’t think they would have anyone visiting unless they feared the worst.They keep hospital visiting to a minimum even in normal times and I don’t think they would visit now without good reason even if the hospital allowed it. It’s sad to think of PP or the Queen not being around, they’ve always just been there.

Apparently Prince Charles is staying in London tonight. There haven’t been any more updates from the Palace.

Charles isn't staying in London.
@Fuckingcrustybread agree totally.
They probably tell people to #be kind on sm.
Thanks for that and I agree with the #bekind shit too. I see my comment has been deleted! I'm not going to bother to repeat it without the offending words.

I was really really hoping that post was a joke.
Sparklingbrook · 20/02/2021 22:32

I have just seen on ITV News that he's gone back to Highgrove.

ConfusedThrowaway · 20/02/2021 22:32

Sorry that should say 'reverence' not 'severance' stupid autocorrect.

ddl1 · 20/02/2021 22:33

Most improbable. Someone of 99 is not going to be given a transplant - the operation and the immunosuppressive treatment would likely kill them sooner than the illness would. And someone of 72 would almost certainly not be accepted as a living donor, even if they offered.

BananaPop2020 · 20/02/2021 22:33

@Countdowntonothing I can’t believe how many people have got the wrong end of the stick, or just can’t be bothered to read your post properly before puffing up in their own self-righteousness

Yes someone really did. Mind boggling.

The Queen truly loves Prince Phillip, and I think he's utterly great! And I wish him well.

Prince Philip
LilQueenie · 20/02/2021 22:34

I read he was staying at Clarence House. He only visited for 20 minutes so doesn't sound like it was an end of life visit in my opinion. I hope he is ok. Seeing Forth bridge down trending on twitter is a bit low though. I mean didn't something trend with the Queen a few years back and they were wrong.

alwaysbethepigeon · 20/02/2021 22:36

I have no thoughts either way on the RF. At the end of the day the D of E is a 99 year old man and whatever the reason he is in hospital for must be enough to need medical intervention. It doesn't bode well that PC has visited when Covid restrictions are so stringent. D of E is no captain Tom but he is an elderly man that is a husband, father and grandfather and deserves some dignity

ParkheadParadise · 20/02/2021 22:36

ITV News is questioning why Charles went to visit Philip travelling from his home and back again in lockdown for 30mins if according to BP he's in good spirits.

JustLyra · 20/02/2021 22:37

@CherryRoulade

Some military leave has been cancelled.
Philip isn't having a state or ceremonial funeral when the time comes so there won't be the need to cancel military leave in the way there will be with other royal funerals.
AlternativePerspective · 20/02/2021 22:38

@LilQueenie I think social media killed off the queen mother several times before she actually died.

How ever did people cope before social media and they had to wait for people to die before announcing it to the world?
