Prince Philip

Just head that Prince Charles has been to visit him in hospital due to ‘exceptional circumstances’. He’s never visited him in hospital before and apparently left looking emotional. It doesn’t look good does it? I wonder how this will play out given the pandemic?

@Creamcrackersandricecakes

Why would PC be apologising for his son - a grown man - who hasn't done anything wrong anyway? Why isn't Prince Andrew apologising for the embarrassment that he caused?
There's an answer to that PA question but I think I'd get banned.
Abraxan · 20/02/2021 20:15

@YouokHun

I wish him a speedy recovery and a comfortable time in hospital. I feel for his family but I confess that I am very envious of him getting visitors. My father is days from death from cancer and we can’t visit him. For my mother 55 years of marriage will end in a phone call, not by his side holding his hand. I wouldn’t wish this torture on Prince Phillip or anyone else.
I'm sorry to hear that you're going through this and that the hospital is not allowing visitors.

Many hospitals have been allowing end of life visits, even for people with covid, for a while now. We've been through this three times as a family in the last year but at least one person has been able to visit each time. It feels really unfair that some still won't accommodate end of life visits at least for next of kin or a close relative, it really does.

You only have to think of the shameful trolling of Capt Tom and family at a similar age to know that some people are lower than a reptile's belly.

@Chailatteplease

My grandfather is almost 100. I will be absolutely devastated when he leaves us.

Such thoughtless comments on this thread. He’s still someone’s husband, father and grandfather. Have some tact.

Exactly.

Whether he’s 29, 59 or 99, he’s someone husband and father. It’s going to be devastating for his family. It’s not really as simple as ‘oh well it was bound to happen soon’ Hmm

oakleaffy · 20/02/2021 20:19

@MrsMackesy

paps hiding behind the bins They aren't. They are openly on the street outside the gateway with telephoto lenses and video cameras
They should have water cannon trained on them...Get some H20 inside some of that valuable camera equipment.. Paps really are the lowest of the low.
SilverBirchWithout · 20/02/2021 20:20

@tigger1001

I am not a fan of the royal family, but they are human, and one of their own is in hospital, who is 99 years old. The family should be able to visit without the press speculating why and how serious it is.
Surely, this type of speculation is the reason for this and all the other threads about Prince Philip? The press intrudes, takes pics, writes articles - because people like the posters on here lap up all the stories. People love all the drama and gossip...

He is an old man - he may or may not get better, any passing is sad for those who know them - now move on nothing to see here.

Kettledodger · 20/02/2021 20:21

I do find it baffling why today's generation (Millennials mainly) feel that everyone should think and feel as they do and if they don't then ....cancelled. times change attitudes change but I think that at 99 maybe a bit of leniency and compassion

ChristmasSexyTime · 20/02/2021 20:21

Yup, can just see the headline now re: it being Megan's fault.

Really wish they'd leave her alone. It's appalling bullying.

Schoolchoicesucks · 20/02/2021 20:23

Do you honestly think that a 99 year old would be given a kidney or liver transplant?

And that the heir to the throne would be a living donor if that were an option?

Good grief.

MrsMercedes · 20/02/2021 20:24

i had no idea any of this was happening, been avoiding the news

Wiredforsound · 20/02/2021 20:25

He’s had a good innings.He’s done well to last this long.

@kurtrussellsbeard

Yeah *@Bluntness100* I don't think you can claim he's a national treasure for his 'outrageous' behaviour which includes casual racism, sexism and a little hit and run Hmm

It's not even okay to normalise that shit never mind suggest it's endearing.

@kurtrussellsbeard It's amazing what he's been able to get away with. Plus Prince Harry in a N*zi uniform etc. In fact most of them in some way or another; Prince Andrew obviously, Prince Charles influencing our country's laws to stop tenants from owning their own homes, and even the Queen hiding some of her wealth abroad for tax reasons etc.

I wish Prince Phillip well and that he rests in peace when he passes on, but why some people hold the royal family in such high regard is baffling and troubling...

No wonder all kinds of atrocities and injustices have been able to happen in our societies - it's clearly ridiculously easy to brainwash a section of the population with slick PR.

MrsMackesy · 20/02/2021 20:25

Agreed @oakleaffy - I was just being factual. Unfortunately they supply the comics and websites many people buy or look at - including a few people on this thread.

ballsdeep · 20/02/2021 20:25

@HopeClearwater

over 80 years of loving him

What about all his affairs? Royal marriages aren’t fairy tales, you know. They’re about diplomacy.

His affairs?! Oh no! Don't say that! I am in a Disney world where they have been happily married for 80 years!
CherryRoulade · 20/02/2021 20:26

Some military leave has been cancelled.

He didn’t “hit and run”. He’s a product of his time, we need to stop judging the past by today’s standards.

@BananaPop2020

Whatever your views on H&M, you can’t deny their actions this week have been bad taste and clunky given whats going on with Philip.
@BananaPop2020 what have they done wrong exactly???? As far as I can see all they have done is announce their pregnancy and make it clear that they are still committed to the causes and charities that they were previously involved in.

The fact that PP is poorly at the same time is regrettable but not their fault. 🙄

EdithWeston · 20/02/2021 20:28

It's OK - The Crown isn't a documentary

Changedusernamehahaha · 20/02/2021 20:28

@littlepattilou what a ridiculous comment about who pays tax and who doesn’t according to their opinions on PP. Overwhelmingly positive vibes for PP on here so stop with your judgemental negativity.

Wishing him well 🤞🏼

8bitgame · 20/02/2021 20:29

Nigel Farage has said on Twitter there is a "big announcement" due tonight after 10pm. Which may or may not be connected. Or just Nigel trying to make himself relevant.
