Swisskit. I think the slogan was “Would you risk it for a swisskit?”

Those things from the 80s and 90s that were popular in Europe too. Two short biscuit bars with a thin cream layer with fruit or nuts in and covered in chocolate. Called something like Bolero bars I think.

Egghead68 · 13/02/2021 21:21

Balisto!

Milkybar chocolate spread.
It was too thick to spread but it was amazing and you could chip bits off with a blunt knife and suck itGrin

oneglassandpuzzled · 13/02/2021 21:30

@Foxyloxy1plus1

M&S have had walnut whips recently I think, but they’re tiny and there’s no walnut inside.
I had m and s walnut whips with walnuts at Christmas.
Karmatime · 13/02/2021 21:37

Icebreaker and Nutty, I haven’t seen either of those for decades. I liked them both but what I miss most is the original Flake, they taste all sickly and soggy now.

tootsnwoocake · 13/02/2021 21:39

@LockdownCheeseToastie

Spiras. Hedgehog crisps. Phileas fogg garlicky things- initially were MM. Cadbury’s chocolate before kraft got hold of it.
Phileas Fogg garlicky things were called mignons morceaux I think? Like tiny crunchy garlic breads. I loved them. They also made Californian corn chips and Shanghai nuts.

Splicer bars were amazing.

Pumpkinpied · 13/02/2021 21:45

@Comefromaway

I loved peanut banjos as a child. I was gutted when they stopped doing the.
My favourite. There was also a round chewy sweet that no one seems to remember. It was like an extra tangy lime Starburst/Opal Fruit with sherbet inside. They were lovely.
CyberPixie · 13/02/2021 21:51

Nestle double cream. I miss it so much. I used to eat tons of it. Nicest 'cheap' chocolate ever.

fataroundthemiddle · 13/02/2021 21:54

@ScottChegg

The banana split toffees in Woolies pick 'n mix, the ones with the yellow bit in the centre.

Cadburys Marble, was so nice!

Citrus Spring - I loved every flavour.

Double Agents.

These rectangular fruit sweets that had individual wrappers with pictures of the fruit that they were flavoured with. Fruit bonbons I think they were called.

Not strictly treats but, firstly, Uncle Ben's Potato Gratin jars, I am still mourning their loss and I think they disappeared in about 1999. Especially the provencal one.

Secondly, I'm almost starting to think I dreamed this up because I can find no trace of it ever having existed but in the 90s Birds Eye (I think) did a kind of Mediterranean vegetable puff pastry slice, it was lovely. I think I remember Caroline Quentin being in the advert.

The square sweets in papers with the picture of the fruit on?...Opel fruits?or Opal fruits

@AliceinBunniland

Was Bitz the one in the blue wrapper with green writing, a mint flavour bar? If so I liked that too. If not, what was that called??

I thought walnut whips were around but thinking about it I haven't seen one in ages!

You can get Galaxy counters that are buttons I think?

Cadbury marble was nice.

I remember fruit bon bons

I don't remember many of the others!

Was a flyte bar like a Milky Way? I think I might remember that

Walnut whips? Pound shops .But not nearly as nice as in the 70's
fataroundthemiddle · 13/02/2021 21:58

The one penny Cadbury's chocolate bar.Penny not pence..1960's . Wrapped in purple foil

fataroundthemiddle · 13/02/2021 22:00

Yay Spangles...the blackcurrent one and the green one

onlyhereforthefood · 13/02/2021 22:17

I'm craving chocolate biscuits badly tonight, there are so many I miss!

Taxi bars (under-rated!)
Drifter bars
Echo bars
Boaster cookies
Original time outs

onlyhereforthefood · 13/02/2021 22:19

Also white chocolate malteasers and the limited edition white chocolate smarties that used to show up every year or so.

LadyPoison · 13/02/2021 23:22

I miss the Morning Coffee biscuits. I haven’t seen any for years

Bluesheep8 · 14/02/2021 07:25

Balisto bars! They had yoghurt and cereal in. You can still get them in R.O.I.
Pacers mint chews
Cabana bars
Bitza pizza crisps
Discos crisps

Bluesheep8 · 14/02/2021 07:26

Lemon puff biscuits
Viscount biscuits

TroyTown · 14/02/2021 07:29

Cabanas were lovely - still mourning them.

NatashaAlianovaRomanova · 14/02/2021 07:57

Chelsea whoppers - they were a penny each from the ice cream van

I don't remember pink panther bars but I do remember we used to get a pink & a blue "chocolate" bar, similar in size to the animal bar you get now.

Hallie8876 · 14/02/2021 08:03

Wonka Bars! Where did these go?
