I know it’s probably been done many times before but I’ve just noticed one I can’t believe I hadn’t seen before!

  • when Joey is about to act in the war film with Gary Oldman, Phoebe doesn’t know who they fought in WW1 but in the Thanksgiving episode she was a nurse in the same war in a previous life.

So she would have known they fought the Germans!

There are so many.......

Monica's character changes all the time. One min she hates confrontation, Rachel's mum at the baby shower, and the next she's loud and in your face, Joey's girlfriend Janine.

It started to get boring when Chandler & Monica got together and Chandler became dull.

Having said that, I still love friends and know most of the episodes off heart.

Rachel's hair that long annoys me! Juts hangs there

WhenTwoBecomeThree · 11/02/2021 13:33

In the one with the routine, the director tells Ross and Monica to do their routine again on one of the podiums for the bloopers, but then they cut so they never actually do the dance!

The episode where Phoebe births three children vaginally Hmm is on now, and aside from all the other impossibilities, every one of them emerges without an umbilical cord Grin.

Also there was no in between from her hating and disapproving of Alice to her suddenly agreeing to carry their babies. When did Phoebe suddenly become so supportive of their relationship?

LOL I watched this episode the other day and the Dr goes "I can see the head!" but there is a sheet completely over Phoebe's legs and the Dr is over the top of it with just his hands underneath Grin.

I think you do see her become accepting when she realises how much Frank really does love Alice.

@Mrsmessyhairdontcare

In the episode when Monica and Rachel are looking after Ben they bump his head on a wooden beam. Further into the episode Ross teases Monica about bumping bens head on the beam, Ross them runs into a wooden pillar and bumps his head... further Into the series there is no longer the wooden pillar it has now gone from every other episode.
Yes, that is mine too! Where did the beam go?!!!

@JackieweaverhasALLtheauthority

Loads and loads of people go to 'college' in America that wouldn't go in the uk. A normal American high school diploma without AP courses is the equivalent of 5 gces at A*-C
No, I don't think that's quite right?
BitOfFun · 11/02/2021 15:40

There's a good explanation table on this page which shows how our educational systems compare.

BitOfFun · 11/02/2021 15:43

Or there's this, if you can read it at this size:

From what I know of people who have spent time in the American education system, or their children did, it is around two years behind us and their final assessments are multiple choice, not essay based. My cousin moved there in yr 11, he was barely scraping a D Grade in most subjects here. Over there he was suddenly an A grade student. Apparently because their system is so much better according to my auntie Grin

hopelessatthinkingupusernames · 11/02/2021 16:10

One of my Friends books has a section by the set designer who said he designed the apartment before he knew that Monica was a clean freak and would have done it very differently if he had known!

mnahmnah · 11/02/2021 18:23

@hopelessatthinkingupusernames

Ooh that sounds a good book! Can ask which one it is please?

cantgetmyheadroundit · 11/02/2021 19:00

Great thread!

As an aside, I don't know how many of you have watched Riverdale - but little Ben Geller has grown up rather quickly 😂

I read somewhere that the writers admitted that they messed up with Ross’ birthday and he was 28 for three years Grin

hopelessatthinkingupusernames · 11/02/2021 20:06

@mnahmnah it’s this really old one (covers up to Ross and Emily’s wedding!) The Very Best of Friends (PB) www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0752265202/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_FW0P02X71WYBMDEKZQ97?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

NotMyPremium · 11/02/2021 21:25

I never understand the Richard thing. He and Monica got together just after Ross and Rachel got together and they split way before Ross and Rachel, who split on their first anniversary. They couldn't have been together for more than a few months but we are meant to think it was ages and he was the love of her life, which drags on until the very last season. Not that believable.

PowerslidePanda · 12/02/2021 08:38

I've just seen a clip on Facebook of when Friends was somebody's specialist subject on Mastermind! I scored 6.

Wow those questions are tough! I only got one. I loved how she couldn’t stop laughing all the way through Grin

PowerslidePanda · 12/02/2021 11:02

Yeah - I did alright on the storyline ones, but fell down on the cast and crew type questions.

mnahmnah · 12/02/2021 11:30

I can’t believe how long the questions are!

MrsDoctorDear · 12/02/2021 14:00

Rachel irritated me by constantly touching her hair, she would go as if to put it behind her ear then let it drop.

Once you see it you can't stop looking out for it.

She was constantly moving her hands, either touching her hair or patting down her skirt or straightening her top, bloody fidget!!

Whatthebloodyell · 12/02/2021 16:40

MrsDoctorDear I know exactly what you mean!!

PeacheyPeach · 12/02/2021 20:48

Love this thread 😂 my bug bear is when Rachael is going to move to Paris. Ross never mentions the fact that his daughter is moving to another country he's only bothered about Rachael going 😂
