• when Joey is about to act in the war film with Gary Oldman, Phoebe doesn’t know who they fought in WW1 but in the Thanksgiving episode she was a nurse in the same war in a previous life.

So she would have known they fought the Germans!

Where does the window in Monica’s kitchen go? There’s a hallway outside?

My Dad has a flat in a high rise retirement village. His kitchen window overlooks a communal hallway. It does happen.

In the flashback episode (s3 IIRC), Ross finds out that Carol is a lesbian and it's also one year until Rachel's wedding to Barry. But in the very first episode - set on Rachel's wedding day - Carol and Ross are only just breaking up. So does it take them a whole year to split up?

There ARE two scenes where Chandler says I love you. But, in the first, Chandler denies he says it. She's got the turkey on her head and he is laughing and blurts out "you're so funny I love you." He says he said it accidentally.

The second time he says it for real.

With Chandler and his crying; he can't cry but then something opens the floodgates and he can't stop. Same episode.

I've always noticed the birthdays, Ross starts telling Gunther his birthday is 'Decemberrrr...' but on other occasions he gives other dates.

Yeah that was so disappointing after seeing all the animations for everyone else!

And the general character developments don't make sense. They all become extreme caricatures of themselves

"Caricature development" seems to be a common practice for sitcoms. Just keep repeating and exaggerating what gets the laughs.

With Chandler The icon is a barker lounger and when you tap it you get the chicken and the duck.

Monica's kitchen table always bothered me. In most scenes it's a round table that seats four yet in every Thanksgiving episode it's rectangular and there are 6-8 people seated 🤔

Yes! It's Halloween when she's early days pregnant and then when she's heavily pregnant it's the summer and really hot othey say what the date is...but it's def more than 9 months

At Monica and Chandler's wedding, Ross tries to swap seats to sit with Mona. He ends up on the childrens table, but doesn't even acknowledge his own son who is sat the same table!

Yes that's it! Knew there wa something else. So between May and October she isn't showing and then is massive by the next summer. What, a year later after the wedding??

This has prob already been said but Chandler and Rachel met at Monica's house in flashbacks but the first episode they met for the first time

Also Chandler on his engagement night, he has clearly lost several stone between seasons.

He had a jet skiing accident that led to a prescription meds addiction issue in between seasons. Yes the continuity isn't there but there really is sweet fuck all the production staff could have done about that, bar delaying filming, which would have caused major scheduling problems for such a big show.

So yep a year long pregnancy, to be fair if I'd been pregnant for a year I'd be pretty pissed off by the end of it!

Why did Monica and Richard get invited to Barry and Mindy's wedding? I know they clearly all lived in the same place growing up but obviously Monica was not close to either of them to warrant an invitation so was Richard close to either Barry or Mindy? Was he invited to Rachel and Barry's wedding? So many questions!

I would say Richard was friends with either Barry or Mindy’s parents. We know he lived in the same street as the gellers and the greens as Rachel said he kissed her to make her better when she fell off her bike outside his house as a child. If I was to guess I’d say Mindy also grew up there as she was Rachel’s best friend by the time she was getting married to Barry and was her maid of honour. In which case Monica will have known Mindy as childhood friend too.

Agree that Joey is a totally different character by the end. Early on he is a streetwise cocksure Jack the Lad, by the end he's practically cognitively impaired.

I've said this many times over the years about Friends, early seasons were intelligently funny, sharp, witty...when you compare it to season 8 it's like another show altogether, I can't believe it's the same people writing it (was it even then?). Totally dumbed-down, unbelievable crap.

The whole 'my boss wants to buy my baby' then being awarded another month's paid maternity after Joey shouts at Mr Zellner...and don't even get me started on the Joey speaks French episode
