Anyone fancy a new jigsaw thread?

Hello all.

I really enjoyed the last jigsaw thread which was going on during the summer and wondered if anyone fancied sharing any pictures of jigsaws that are currently being done?
I'm nearly finished with my Disney Christmas one. A nice easy one which has only taken me a couple of days.
The weather is grim today so I expect it will be finished very soon! I will post a full picture once it is complete.

I got this one for Christmas. I’m psyching myself up to start.

The other half of my present from my mum arrived. Amazon left it in my refuse bin Cue a big complaint and a full refund.

We completed 2x1000 piece jigsaws this week. It was a 2 in 1 from wasjig. So 1 puzzle was the usual box picture and the other was the puzzling wasjig.

For the person that asked, wasjigs tend to be what the people on the box picture are looking at. I don't want to post any spoilers but I do have a picture of both to show you what I mean if you so wish.

I've just finished the Xmas jigsaw and IT'S MISSING A PIECE! WTF!

Does this happen? We are confident we haven't lost one as did it at the dining table and it isn't on the floor.

It does happen. I completed one last Christmas which had a piece missing. I buy a lot from a company in Devon and their FAQs contain information for how to contact them if there’s a piece missing so it must be quite a regular occurrence.

My Christmas one was missing 2 pieces 😞. I've hunted around the lounge very carefully and can't find them. They had a slip in the box to contact them to request replacement (Gibsons) so I've filled that in and will send it off and do it again next year!

@Jerble - I got that one for Christmas - it was lovely to do.

Hazelmazel. Snap! I've done that one this Christmas too. No missing pieces here tho (and it was a second hand charity shop buy too). It was a fun one to do,not too tricky.

I got this Kevin the Carrot one just before Christmas, a very reasonable 3.99 from Aldi! It was only 500 pieces but all that dark purple and red was damn near impossible...

Finished! Not the best quality this one! But happy it's done!

Finally finished it.. 2 pieces missing..that was a tough one..now what next..

I can’t show the one I’ve just completed because it’s of the four of us so would be too outing, unless I blanked us out which would then make it a bit pointless 😂

This was my Christmas present from the dcs - not a bad choice for 15 and 11yo boys. Only 500 pieces but that's about my time and patience maximum.

Anyone else have nicknames for certain types of jigsaw shape? Edgy boys and girls (hopefully obvious), snowflakes (with one outy bit at the top and the three other sides ‘innies’) buggies (erm...the ones that look like a toddler sitting being pushed in a buggy)...

Oh Ulysses, that’s a pity. Have you had a good look around where you were doing it? I found a piece of a 1500 puzzle I did right at the edge of the room after I had dismantled it. Top left corner.

I've just brought out my 1000 peice World Map jigsaw out from under the sofa which I started at the beginning of the year never to be seen again!

I made a bit of progress on it last night. I find that I am so tired of doing nothing in the evening that it keeps me going a bit longer and I can still be in the company of the rest of the family.

I've found the magnifier app on my iPhone really handy for zooming in as my eyesight isn't the best. I'm going to start on the countries today and put my geography skills to the test too.

May I join? I have that very jigsaw map hanging in my hall. It was one of the first big ones DD and I did together. We've just finished a lovely foil 500 piece Christmas scene one (bought on the back of the Christmas bargains thread) and have a Ravensburger and a Casa de Papel Dali faces to do. Lovely looking at all of yours. So relaxing.

'Flame tree publishing' - it's an Angela Harding print. She's a local artist but it came from Waterstones so available everywhere I imagine. I'm a bit hooked now but back to work on Monday so no point in starting anything else.
