Anyone fancy a new jigsaw thread?

Hello all.

I really enjoyed the last jigsaw thread which was going on during the summer and wondered if anyone fancied sharing any pictures of jigsaws that are currently being done?
I'm nearly finished with my Disney Christmas one. A nice easy one which has only taken me a couple of days.
The weather is grim today so I expect it will be finished very soon! I will post a full picture once it is complete.
Would love to see your jigsaws....

EventOfTheSeason I've bought and sold quite a few on ebay, obviously you're paying for postage but the searching and bidding has passed the time. I think only once has one turned up with a piece missing and then I had a refund. We only search for Ravensburger and Gibson so not a great variety of topics but while the charity shops are closed it's better than nothing.

I started doing jigsaws in the summer. Have completed about 15 and have 17 to do. I am really fussy about which ones....hate chocolate box ones. My favourite brand is Eurographics....like doing lots of little ones.
I buy from ebay..have had some good advertising ones from there. I sell on as soon as I complete and always get my money back.

FrenchBoule · 30/12/2020 14:13

@ShellsandSand I love the round one, where did you get it?

TheWayOfTheWorld · 30/12/2020 14:16

@Laska2Meryls

That Mercury one looks super fiendish ThewayoftheWorld !
DH made the same comment 🤣
ShellsandSand · 30/12/2020 15:01

@Frenchboule. Its just one I picked up in the charity shop. Its very old. Happy to send on if you would like it?

ShellsandSand · 30/12/2020 15:16

So my Mushroom one was smaller than I thought. Only took 30 minutes but I love the pretty mushrooms. Will be on the look out for a 1000 piece now.

Has anyone ever bought anything from George Whinstable? They’re stalking me around Facebook & Instagram with the most gorgeous puzzles but I’m always hesitant to buy from ads on Facebook.

cinderrose · 30/12/2020 15:45

Loving seeing everyone's jigsaws. I was given a couple of 1000 piece puzzles for Christmas.

Can anyone recommend a good jigsaw board??

I can't take over a table atm but would like a flat board/mat. Not a roll-up one I think. Thanks!

ShellsandSand · 30/12/2020 15:47

@icebearforpresident I have!! I bought some tins and garden things in the summer. And a rug! Prompt delivery with no issues.

Greenteandchives · 30/12/2020 16:02

This one was nice to do. New York.

Thanks @ShellsandSand, I’ve had my eye on a puzzle of the New York public library for ages, might just have to buy it now that you have vouched for them.

Found some pictures of my lockdown puzzles on Instagram

Thank you to the 2 posters who replied to my query about the Santa puzzle a few days ago.
I've done a snowy scene and I got a money themed one for my birthday.
It's really inspiring seeing all the different designs we're working on. Some really unusual pictures. I like the perspective ofvyhe New York puzzle.

Going to have 1 last try to add my pictures as they keep disappearing.

FeltCarrot · 30/12/2020 16:46

Whole family joined in to do this one on Boxing Day

I did some more today, and also got all the pieces sorted out into shapes and rows...and pieces with borders and just plain bits....the borders are because it's like a pile of postcards with white edges, and I figured it might make it a little easier.

Bloody cat though is making a real nuisance of herself, she never jumps and is hugely graceful and elegant...except when I have the puzzle board out...she wandered about hte table and deliberately jumped across, and tipped most of the pieces off one board. I told her she was going outside if she did it again. She went off in a huff.

This is a lovely borrowed one we did recently, it's from Pomegranate.

@ExpensivelyDecorated - I've just finished that Moomin puzzle. I really enjoyed it, but foolishly left the Moomins' bodies until last, so I ended up with a load of plain white pieces!

I'm currently working on this World of Shakespeare puzzle by Laurence King Publishing. It's lovely and detailed, and has a poster inside which tells you more about all the different characters featured. Highly recommend.

@DonEmmanuelsDingleberries I'm at the stage of having done all the distinctive bits and am now rummaging through a box of green or white pieces. Maybe I'll do white next and finish with green.
