Anyone fancy a new jigsaw thread?

Hello all.

I really enjoyed the last jigsaw thread which was going on during the summer and wondered if anyone fancied sharing any pictures of jigsaws that are currently being done?
I'm nearly finished with my Disney Christmas one. A nice easy one which has only taken me a couple of days.
The weather is grim today so I expect it will be finished very soon! I will post a full picture once it is complete.
Would love to see your jigsaws....

@ifIwerenotanandroid It’s a brand I’ve never done before, Vermont. My son bought it from Amazon for my birthday (it’s a scene of Prague and he knows I love it there), there were some very random shapes amongst the pieces which made it interesting.

@Madison Thanks, I'll look for that make - although I have a ?House of Puzzles one with odd shapes that just touch each other & that was a bit frustrating.

I just have a lot of time on my hands. DH went away for a week and I'm pretty much housebound without him and the car. I spent most daylight hours for a week jigsawing as I had not much else to do.

I know what you mean. I was without my car for a while & started to go a bit stir crazy - I discovered jigsaws & they were very calming. Better than housework which has never held much of an attraction...

An jigsaws can be complete, unlike housework that is just endless.

Excellent point!

I’ve clearly been on a Disney Villain streak. Ravensburger - Villainous Maleficent and Clementoni - Villains. Both had their challenges but were fun to do.

Woodland Magic has sealed Elena Essex as my favourite puzzle brand. I picked it up second hand for £2.50, and was delighted as it was one in her collection I was most excited for. It was as fun as I thought and lots of bright colours.

I haven’t loved a couple of the newer designs though. Dream Away seemed overly busy, with no relaxing gradient to help it and Sweet Delight was downright ugly to me. I do like the one with the cheetah on it though.

Has anyone else here been watching the World Jigsaw Puzzle Championships this weekend? It's just amazing how quick they are, and I ordered one for myself too!

I followed along with the World of the Tudors puzzle, which was fun. Super busy pattern, and lots of detail - but I did it over two days rather than two hours!

I got this one from a charity shop. 500 pieces, but lots of weird, unusually shaped pieces. Lovely to do, and very pretty 😍

That’s lovely, I like a puzzle with unusual shapes.

I started this one yesterday morning and have just finished it.

This one had so much black! Da Vinci didn't have jigsawers in mind when he painted this.

That looks challenging @InMySpareTime

JaquelineBeanstalk · 24/10/2023 21:15

Oh my, you did well with all that black!

Marmite27 · 25/10/2023 08:49

My latest finish. Just started a new one that’s a harbour scene.

Happy Halloween 🎃 I’ve finished the Abandoned series I’ve been saving, as it feels right for this time of year.

And here’s the harbour scene. I was a bit glum when I finished it Wednesday night as I thought it had a price missing. Which I later found in the box Blush

Last nights effort, a quick 500 piece while I’m eating for my new 1000 to be delivered.

My girls and I are watching all the Disney movies in order - we’ve just watched Alice in Wonderland, so I’ve been doing a Disney one. I’ve just finished it but my oldest wants to do it now so she’s broken it up to do it herself!
I’ve got my next one ready to go. It seems to be like a cross between a puzzle and the ‘hidden book titles’ game that that website does!

It's Advent calendar time!

Pleasenomoreglitter · 01/12/2023 08:33

Ooh I didn't know you could get jigsaw advent calendars!

toastofthetown · 01/12/2023 09:24

It’s might not be too late @Pleasenomoreglitter if you have a Christmas puzzle and someone willing to solve it for you first today. This is my custom advent calendar. I’ve wanted this Christmas puzzle for months, and I also wanted an advent calendar so my husband solved the puzzle and bagged it up for me for December.

I love that, what a great idea!
