Anyone fancy a new jigsaw thread?

Hello all.

I really enjoyed the last jigsaw thread which was going on during the summer and wondered if anyone fancied sharing any pictures of jigsaws that are currently being done?
I'm nearly finished with my Disney Christmas one. A nice easy one which has only taken me a couple of days.
The weather is grim today so I expect it will be finished very soon! I will post a full picture once it is complete.
Would love to see your jigsaws....

It's lovely to see this thread still ticking along.
It's definitely heading towards jigsaw season for me. I've built up a nice stash over the summer, all from charity shops, and will crack open the first one in a few weeks time I think. Just got a couple of DIY projects and some sewing tasks to complete before I get distracted by puzzles.

I started and finished this one yesterday

@InvitationStation

So, this thread inspired me to start doing jigsaws again. Here's the one I completed this week.
Absolutely love this one - can you give me the brand and name?
MistySkiesAfterRain · 21/11/2021 10:59

This on a family weekend. DF cheated on the trees in the top right and thought I wouldn't notice. It went wrong somewhere (I had to unpick one of his mistakes earlier tsk grin) and we both lost the will to live! Bloody trees.

I completed a lovely one in a day last week whilst off sick with lurgy it was an easy 500piece from The Works of a sewing machine.

Think I'll start the more complex one DM bought me for my birthday this afternoon, it's of flowers and much harder but my lurgy hasn't improved and it's my go to activity when feeling poorly, I couldn't justify it at this time otherwise when I have so much else to do!

Keeping up with taking a jigsaw to a cafe each week, it's starting to become a talking point! My last few:

We're just finishing a Wasgij they are pretty much the only ones I do, but DH got two Terry Pratchett ones for his birthday- Deaths study and Granny Weatherwaxs cottage. Deaths study was a really difficult one. Have got a Ravensburger what if... waiting to do. I like the challenge of not knowing where any bits go, don't really see the fun of doing one knowing exactly what the end picture will look like. But I do like surprises!

Posted this on the old thread then found this one!

Anyone still puzzling?

My daughters and I have been attempting the same Christmas puzzle every year for years and failing every year so I scrapped it and ordered a different one for this year and the puzzle board thing and we’ve made loads of progress today. Only 500 pieces to start us off.

The cats keep coming and lying all over the puzzle on the board though Grin.

So many good puzzle recommendations on here, thanks!

Do people normally find if they buy them from charity shops the pieces are all there? Nothing would irk me more than a missing piece. I always wonder why they don’t put a weight on the box so you can quickly check!

Darningfever · 28/11/2021 06:23

I brought one from a charity shop and it had a piece missing. So I have never brought another second hand one. Although several neighbours and I pass puzzles around, anyone of us could have lost a piece.

This thread as reminded me that I have 4 unopened puzzles waiting for me to get round to them. I have a day off, no where to be and it's heavy snow outside. I think a new Wasjig whilst watching back to back greys anatomy is my idea of a good time.

InMySpareTime · 28/11/2021 08:07

This week's cafe jigsaw, I'll crack out the Christmas ones next week!
I'm working my way through a 3000-piecer too, but that's a longer term project to see me through December.

Hello everyone.
It's definitely puzzle weather here and I cracked open a new (to me) puzzle last week and finished it yesterday.
I'll post a pic later but it was a nice Gibsons one of a library/tearoom. Pretty straightforward and enjoyable. I got it from a jigsaw swop at the library and will be returning it to them in due course.
Might get a Christmas one started later.
Happy puzzling all.

How are everyone's Christmas Jigsaws coming along? Here are my cafe jigsaws, I'm also doing a 3000-piecer but that's longer term.

I've got a jigsaw waiting for Boxing Day. Really looking forward to losing a few hours to puzzling again. I love the christmas tree puzzles, InMySpareTime.

MadisonAvenue · 20/12/2021 09:04

I completed this one yesterday, I don’t normally buy 500 piece puzzles but I liked the picture.
Anyway, it turned out to be 502 pieces as there were two duplicates.

I've never had a jigsaw with too many pieces, only missing ones.

PuzzleMania · 20/12/2021 15:05

I like that one Madison, it reminds me of Christmas as a child (even though it's the wrong era). Happy times.

livingonaprairie · 20/12/2021 16:11

I have found my tribe! I've been doing jigsaws all year that I've borrowed from my parents, who have a massive stash collected over 20 years. They are all hand cut with around 900 pieces each, and not your traditional jigsaw pieced shapes. Thought you might like to see the most recent one I've finished, which took about 2 weeks of my spare time. The one before that took nearly 3 months! Am going to borrow another one to do during my Christmas holiday, can't wait!

Happy Christmas everyone. Good to see pictures of your festive puzzles. We are in fine puzzling form here and have completed 3 in the past three weeks and have plenty more to go at having acquired a decent stash from charity shops over recent months. Here's a few pictures of recent puzzles...
