Hello all.

I really enjoyed the last jigsaw thread which was going on during the summer and wondered if anyone fancied sharing any pictures of jigsaws that are currently being done?
I'm nearly finished with my Disney Christmas one. A nice easy one which has only taken me a couple of days.
The weather is grim today so I expect it will be finished very soon! I will post a full picture once it is complete.
Would love to see your jigsaws....

@NiceNailPolish

I like the Greenwich Park jigsaw. I've not seen that before.
It's a Pomegranate Artpiece puzzle called Greenwich Park Proverbs.

I have been getting all my puzzles from a company called the Yorkshire Jigsaw Store whom I found in lockdown was the only company with any available! They always seem to have a good selection, and it changes quite regularly. They don't have this one anymore though, although WHSmiths does Grin.

Thank you, it's added to my ever-increasing list 😀

I’ve done this over the weekend, it’s a £7 one from The Works.

A friend dropped round this 1000-piece jigsaw last week. I say "friend", but it had 8 pieces missing. I actually messaged her asking her to have a look for the other pieces! I have a horror of un-completeable jigsaws, and if she were a proper friend she'd know that.

8 pieces missing?? 😤

I can't get into jigsaws in the summer but looking forward to the autumn and cosy nights snuggled up with a 1000 piecer.

InMySpareTime · 08/09/2021 12:57

My latest jigsaws, the Cuba one was nice and easy, I had that one done within a day, the other one took over a week (2000 pieces, lots of blocks of similar colour/pattern and the pieces were too malleable to be sure they fitted snugly).
Luckily the tricky jigsaw had a repeating pattern of globes on the reverse which I could use as a check that pieces were correctly placed.

Oh some of these jigsaws look great. I particularly like the Cubs one. I love a jigsaw but am waiting until we are back from hols to start a new one. I have yet to try a 2000 piece on the furthest I have gone was a 1000 and a wasgij. Such a lovely cold evening activity.

AskingSimilarQuestions · 09/09/2021 19:01

Lovely to see this thread is still going - I've contributed a few times under various names.

The Cuba jigsaw is a Michael Storrings isn't it? I did one of his New York ones earlier this year (and I think I uploaded an image of it to this thread). I think I'm going to get one of his Christmas ones next.

Like some pp's, I don't do jigsaws in summer but have still been buying them. I've got David & Bathsheba from the Bedford Book of Hours, the Merry Wives of Windsor and a Harry Potter. I've also got a few Christmas ones too - love a jigsaw at Christmas.
It makes the nights getting darker more tolerable.

MadisonAvenue · 09/09/2021 19:59

The photographic one is Prague isn’t it? It looks like the street leading off the Charles Bridge.

I’ve got several ready to do, I just haven’t had time. I haven’t dared start one because time runs away with me when I do.

InMySpareTime · 09/09/2021 21:19

@AskingSimilarQuestions yes, the Cuba jigsaw is Michael Storrings,
@MadisonAvenue the photo jigsaw is Prague Old Town.
I think I've done too many jigsaws over the last couple of years, I took a 250pc jigsaw to a cafe this morning, I had it completed in under an hour.

HelloDoris · 29/09/2021 23:06

Not posted on here for ages, went all quiet on the puzzle front as don't tend to do them in summer. Went on a charity shop trawl last weekend and got 6 Gibson's puzzles for £12.. been a busy bumblebee this week and done 2.5 of them so far..

I've kept up with taking a 250pc to the cafe each week, it's starting to attract comments! I've just started another 2000 piece from the charity shop, that should keep me busy for a while. Pics of jigsaws I completed lately:

Does anyone on here live in Brighton?
I have to make space in our loft, so need to rehome a lot of jigsaws

Does Hove count? .... would love to rehome them for you? ... no idea how to PM you Grin
InMySpareTime · 08/10/2021 06:28

Finished a couple more yesterday, the harvest one was just to pass some time in a cafe.
The packhorse bridge one was a 2000-piece and took over a week.

I love doing jigsaws but because my two year old loves to destroy them, I do not do them very often. These are last two I managed to finish. It took me weeks from start to finish. I love the one with the inside of the house.

I have just bought this one to do with my son in december. I wish they did a 1000 piece one.

@kavalkada just saw your upstairs downstairs puzzle and went and purchased one straight away! Grin it's lovely

Not posted for ages but it's nice to see this thread still going strong. I love the house interior, the 2000 bridge and the Christmas house. It would make a good 1000 puzzle!

We managed to hold our Jigsaw Festival in September having had to cancel last year.
We had 2 years worth of puzzles made up ready to sell but we wondered if people would feel confident to venture out. We needn't have worried as we were busy on all 4 days! It was lovely to hear people chatting about how jigsaws had been so important to them during the pandemic.

I've just finished this puzzle loaned to me by my MiL. She has increasingly struggled to do puzzles over the last year due to cataracts. 2 ops later and this was the 1st puzzle she was able to enjoy doing.
