Anyone fancy a new jigsaw thread?

Hello all.

I really enjoyed the last jigsaw thread which was going on during the summer and wondered if anyone fancied sharing any pictures of jigsaws that are currently being done?
I'm nearly finished with my Disney Christmas one. A nice easy one which has only taken me a couple of days.
The weather is grim today so I expect it will be finished very soon! I will post a full picture once it is complete.
Would love to see your jigsaws....

I started this one yesterday afternoon and finished it earlier today. Lots of detail made it quite easy and there was no annoying sky, sea or grass 😂

MadisonAvenue · 21/03/2021 20:19

Great, that took about an hour to post and then didn’t add the picture

Wait...what... just tipped out the Huadada puzzle - Puppy Dream House - to sort the pieces and there seems to be patterns/colours on the other side of each piece.

What's that all about? Is it normal for Huadada puzzle. Not sure I like it!

I’ve just finished this one and loved it. A little bit challenging but not too much.
It’s called Pride and Puzzlement.

Finished Puppy Dream House over the long weekend.

Looking for recommendations for next!

FoofOfTheWalkingDead · 20/04/2021 22:33

Just finished Plant Shelfie. Looking for a new one that is challenging but not impossible. Any recommendations?

Just finished this one - more difficult than it looked. Each piece had a lot of detail, with very little blocks of "sameness".

Got a few in my pile to get on with. But I hate the sorting pieces bit at the start!

Sorry for the wrong angle. Can't work out how to load pics from my photo roll (which I can edit).

InMySpareTime · 10/05/2021 06:57

This one was a challenge, 2000 mostly greenish or bluish pieces.
It took 5 days to finish, and I can see why whoever bought it in the 1970s never even opened the bag of pieces!
DH got me it from the charity shop, I'm so glad they're open again.

I’ve just (almost) completed this one, but there’s a missing piece Confused

Just finished this one. It's taken me ages because jigsaws seem like a winter thing. Anyone else on jigsaw hiatus for summer?

I’ve never noticed a jigsaw thread before. I love doing them and really helps me through my stressful job.

Hello everyone! Here is one I finished after work today.

Nice to see this thread still going, I was on it over Christmas but haven't had time to do any more since then, maybe when we go on holiday.

toomuchlikemyusername · 18/06/2021 22:12

Ooh. Nice to see some new posts on this thread. I'm still doing some jigsaws but fewer of late thanks to lots of jobs to do in the house and garden. Did some tonight tho while half watching the footie. Have a great big stash of puzzles building up for the winter tho!

I’m working on a really tricky one at the moment, it’s a map of Birmingham which I want to frame as it’s local but I’m really struggling with it because the pieces are mostly like this. I’ve fitted together everything that has a place name or that is quite distinctive and now I’m left with probably around 400 tiny road pieces to match up and fit together.

I have one of those for my old area (moved since then). I filled in unworded pieces by joining major roads then linking them to worded places and filling in minor roads. Rows upon rows of identical terraces I did by brute force once I had all the big roads in. Does your one have the "house" piece in the middle?

Me. I've posted a few of my completed jigsaws on this thread (under different usernames) but can't find my mojo to do them in summer, it seems all wrong 😀

No, I’ve seen those though. It’s just a map on the city centre and surrounding area…and I finally finished it at 2.30 this morning. I did one of London last year and it was much better detailed than this, but then it was an A-Z map one so had road names and more areas marked. I can’t upload the photo of it at the moment, the image is apparently too large and it won’t size down.
BigWoollyJumpers · 28/06/2021 12:54

Since last being on here, I have done a couple of others:

The Monet lilies was a nightmare! The bridge was easy, the rest a challenge, all the lillies and the greenery basically the same. Nice when finished though.

Greenwich Park looked challenging because of all the little people, but actually quite quick with that one, as they are all different, and with the cross of paths, and london skyline, and also the sky is clearly different dues, it was easy to put each line in moving bottom to top. I enjoyed it.

Next challenge is Van Gogh Starry Night, another tricky one I think, because basically all the same colour.

NiceNailPolish · 28/06/2021 13:20

I like the Greenwich Park jigsaw. I've not seen that before.

LadyofMisrule · 28/06/2021 13:58

How about this one?

twitter.com/OrkneyLibrary/status/1407697011906908169?s=20

I did this the other day. Fiddly, but it entertained me while I was on a call, waiting for my bit of the meeting.
