Anyone fancy a new jigsaw thread?

Hello all.

I really enjoyed the last jigsaw thread which was going on during the summer and wondered if anyone fancied sharing any pictures of jigsaws that are currently being done?
I'm nearly finished with my Disney Christmas one. A nice easy one which has only taken me a couple of days.
The weather is grim today so I expect it will be finished very soon! I will post a full picture once it is complete.
Would love to see your jigsaws....

Can I join in? I've really got into jigsaw puzzles over the last few weeks doing them with residents at work so I've bought one of my own, haven't really done them since childhood! I picked this one up today from a Facebook seller for a fiver so we will see how it goes.

I will pass them back onto work when I've done them.

Hello - can I join you too?

I am doing this one at present.....

Do ever display any of your done jigsaws? And of so how! Some look absolutely incredible and seems a shame to scrabble it back into a box! (New to all this!)

InMySpareTime · 17/02/2021 19:06

I photograph mine as a record that I achieved completion, then joyfully scrabble them back into the box!

Concertedaction · 17/02/2021 23:21

I finished this one today. It’s Padstow Harbour by Gibsons. The horrible mark in the middle of the sky is a shadow - not the actual jigsaw 😀. Tomorrow I’m starting a Romeo and Juliet puzzle.

@missyB1 if you want adult jigsaws with larger pieces try Georgeswhitstable.com online I had a lovely one of rainbow coloured crystals which had larger than normal pieces which made it easier, I think there was a range of designs Smile

I cant wait to collect 3 from a local selling page at the weekend. My collection got large recently buying
cheap ones in The Works sale. So I'm trying to pass some on now. I keep sentimental ones and am trying to limit myself buying representations of major art I like and pictures of places around the world I've been too, as a nostalgic memory.

nessnessness · 19/02/2021 17:29
@nessnessness try sorting the pieces by shape, then you have fewer options for what goes in each space.
So I thought I'd sit down, with dogged determination to somehow try to crack it this weekend and taking @InMySpareTime advice... they're all the same frickin' shape!!

InMySpareTime · 19/02/2021 17:43

Can you at least see which way up most of them go (even down to finding a vertical that might be either way up), to reduce the brute force attack options?

Billandben444 · 20/02/2021 07:28

I do the straight edges and yhrfun bits of my jigsaws and then my 12-yr old grandson does the boring sky and sea when he visits - I anguish over the picture and colours and he does it upside down by just looking at the shapes. We make a good team. If anyone can think of a job share that would suit both our skill sets...?

HelloDoris · 20/02/2021 18:48

And another one done.. Very tricky in places...

I enjoyed doing this one of Romeo and Juliet.

I’m now working on a Las Vegas hotels scene. I’ve finished most of it, just doing the night sky - my least favourite bit, having to try every piece to find the one that fits.

I've just finished the one on the left (a Falcon) and it stretched me but I love the picture. Next to do is The Shed - I really enjoyed The Beach Hut and being a Ravensburger it has a picture inside which makes it easier to follow.

I've done Plant Shelfie recently too, it's beautiful, just gearing up to a Beryl Cook next. I fancy some from The Works, is the quality ok - cardboard not too bendy? The prices are good.

gothicsprout · 24/02/2021 20:04

Can I join? Finished this Ravensburger one at the weekend from Amazon, bought as a slightly easier warmup puzzle after I was gifted the Shakespearean London one for Christmas - lovely but very challenging with all the different but similar buildings! This one was much easier to sort by colour with the four seasons.

Just finished this one, pleasant and complete which, considering I dropped the box all over the lounge twice, is a miracle!

I’m enjoying this thread - especially the pictures of everyone’s finished puzzles - it’s giving me some ideas for what to buy next.

TheHollow · 28/02/2021 10:50

My two latest - a Renoir and Midnight in Soho
