Anyone fancy a new jigsaw thread?

Hello all.

I really enjoyed the last jigsaw thread which was going on during the summer and wondered if anyone fancied sharing any pictures of jigsaws that are currently being done?
I'm nearly finished with my Disney Christmas one. A nice easy one which has only taken me a couple of days.
The weather is grim today so I expect it will be finished very soon! I will post a full picture once it is complete.
Would love to see your jigsaws....

Hi everyone, what a lovely thread! Just finished my latest (I ration myself to one 1000 piece a week) and I usually do seasides etc for a bit of escapism and this is a compilation of Cornish seas. Unfortunately, this one had a piece missing which is annoying as it was brand new - I'm not keen on used ones. The company will send a whole new puzzle if I return 5 pieces to them but that would mean looking for 5+1 pieces out of 1000 to complete it which I don't think I can be bothered to do! My next one arrives Monday so a bit of withdrawal kicking in. Happy puzzling!

lifestooshort Surprising how puzzles can give you a bit of escapism isn't it? I'm really drawn to scenic ones at the moment, especially the sea.

Just discovered this thread - lovely idea. Smile

I’m really enjoying this 299 cats and 1 dog puzzle - not taxing at all if you follow the picture, meaning I can listen to my podcasts without distraction but also have something satisfying and relaxing to do while I’m listening.

This jigsaw would be much more challenging to complete without the picture as a guide!

@MadisonAvenue - I love a map puzzle! Here's one I did a little while ago.

@DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel I love that, where is it? It looks familiar!
I just love maps in general so stick them on a jigsaw and I’m in heaven Grin

I did this one over the weekend, it was only cheap from Amazon some months ago but it’s lovely quality.

Forgot to says about that one though, it was slightly too wide for my jigsaw board and the picture on the box didn’t exactly match up with the jigsaw.

DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel · 15/02/2021 22:26

@MadisonAvenue, it's Philadelphia, I have family there. It's by a company called "City Explorer Puzzles" - lovely quality pieces. Loads of puzzle dust though 😆

Concertedaction · 16/02/2021 00:22

Here’s the one I finished on Sunday:

I'm at that point where one piece takes me ages! Ive done all the 'notable' pieces but the rest are all so similar. So I'm at the stage do I push on (and I'll know I'll be very happy if I complete it) or do I give up and start another?

Keep on! Imagine the satisfaction when you finish it.

Loving this thread. I bought a pile from The Works too HelloDoris, with 20% off and free delivery it seemed rude not to.

PuzzleMania · 16/02/2021 13:14

My recent effort.

I'm just starting that one now!
InMySpareTime · 16/02/2021 13:46

@nessnessness try sorting the pieces by shape, then you have fewer options for what goes in each space.

Concertedaction · 16/02/2021 22:07

@PuzzleMania

I see the cat was helping you out 😀

Crankley · 16/02/2021 22:15

I started this one: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08JJNBW7Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o02_s01?psc=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&ie=UTF8 at the weekend and have also ordered: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004LTD2SS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o00_s00?psc=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&ie=UTF8

The two 1950s village puzzles (complete with garden gnomes) I was given for Christmas are still untouched, doubt they will be - just waiting for charity shops to open.

As always! They love a box don't they? Grin

HelloDoris · 17/02/2021 08:01

Another one done.. Tricky in places with all the flowers but quite fun at the same time 😊

Concertedaction · 17/02/2021 09:15

@nessnessness
That would drive me insane. I try to avoid jigsaws with huge swathes of the same colour. I find it tedious having to go through the whole box to find the one piece that fits.

InMySpareTime · 17/02/2021 09:48

You'd hate this one then! It took me 5 days, with a lot of brute force methodically trying all possible pieces.

DD and I just finished this one.

Majestic Whine, what a great image on a rainy February day.
