Anyone fancy a new jigsaw thread?

Hello all.

I really enjoyed the last jigsaw thread which was going on during the summer and wondered if anyone fancied sharing any pictures of jigsaws that are currently being done?
I'm nearly finished with my Disney Christmas one. A nice easy one which has only taken me a couple of days.
The weather is grim today so I expect it will be finished very soon! I will post a full picture once it is complete.
Would love to see your jigsaws....

This is my latest... I actually started it this time last year, and then hot fed up and put it away! Finally remembered where I'd put my puzzle board with it on (tucked away behind a cupboard!) so finished it this morning.

@InchesAway, I really like the Michael Storrings ones, I've got a few of those now.

I did make a start on a 1500 piece puzzle that I'd tracked down on eBay of an image that I'd had on a 500 piece as a child... And then before I'd finished the edges, the bloody puppy had leapt up on my chair that I'd left unattended, and chewed up a load of pieces 😭. Lesson learned there!

Forgot to add a pic above!

I’ve done these this week. The top and bottom borders of the Zodiac jigsaw took me ages to get right. The Van Gogh was surprisingly easy. The other jigsaw is titled ‘In a Harem Garden’ and I really enjoyed doing it.

It's lovely to see this thread is still going.
I'm in a bit of a jigsaw lull at the moment (if fact, I'm in a bit of an everything lull - lockdown blues I think but it will pass) but I'm enjoying seeing all of your pictures and reading your posts.
I'm really missing being able to potter around the charity shops and pick up new puzzles.
I need a few spring themed ones I think to lift my spirits...

Will this do?

Ooh that's a beauty! Thanks for posting the picture. I do like an 'irregular' jigsaw. Not sure that's the correct description of them but I'm sure you know what I mean!

@InMySpareTime

Will this do?
Oh I like that @InMySpareTime 🦢

I'm still plodding on with my Lego people one. It's a lot harder than I though it would be. But it won't beat me...

I always buy a puzzle for everyone to do over Christmas. This year it was this depiction of a ski resort.
It was the nearest we got to skiing, our January holiday was cancelled.

I finally finished it! The cover of the latest Foo Fighters album, in 1000 piece puzzle form.

Completed plant shelfie at the weekend. Really lovely puzzle, hard in places but a good challenge. Spent far too much money on more puzzles from The Works as well.

Wow @icebearforpresident - that looks ridiculously tricky! Not sure I'd have had the patience for all those plain red bits 😆 - well done!

Plant shelfie looks good...adding it to my list!

I didn't know we had a jigsaw thread. Just back into jigsawing, I love it.

My recent completion, and a tricky one, was The Sistine Chapel. All those heads and bums!!

And previously I did this one. Am now into the arty set, and my next one is a monet.

GotToRingAgain · 10/02/2021 21:02

Love the Sistine Chapel but it does look hard work.

icebearforpresident · 10/02/2021 22:11

It took me ages @DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel! You can’t really tell in the photo but it’s all dots apart from the writing and even that took forever because the pieces are really small. There’s nothing distinctive in it at all, I basically sat with a full box rummaged until it was done.

icebearforpresident · 10/02/2021 22:12

How many pieces are in the Sistine Chapel @BigWoollyJumpers, it looks huge!

BigWoollyJumpers · 10/02/2021 22:37

@icebearforpresident

How many pieces are in the Sistine Chapel *@BigWoollyJumpers*, it looks huge!
It's a standard 1000 pieces, but very long. Possibly 3 ft, I will check.
HelloDoris · 11/02/2021 10:34

Another puzzle bites the dust.. Lovely vintage fair puzzle from The Works (excellent value by the way 7 1000 piece puzzle for £35).

@HelloDoris

Should be asleep but had to finish this one off. It was hard and I didn't enjoy it at all. But another one done..
I have this one, it came in a small batch I bought from a local forum. I really can't face it and you've just confirmed my fears!
marriednotdead · 11/02/2021 16:22

This is my pending pile Grin

I'm loving seeing all your gorgeous puzzles!
The Persian Garden one would be right up my street.
I did a couple over Christmas but I daren't start a new one as I have a cross stitch sampler that I need to complete in good time to get framed for my son's wedding.
This thread is giving me lots of inspiration for when I can puzzle again.

toomuchlikemyusername · 12/02/2021 11:29

I am continuing to love all of the pictures of the done and yet-to-be-done puzzles and the gentle, pace of this thread.
I've just started a new puzzle of Nyhaven Harbour. It's full of lovely colours and happy memories of when I visited a few years ago. I will post a picture later.

I’ve ordered a new one this morning.
I did some map jigsaws last year, a London Underground one and an A-Z map of London and I love maps so framed them and put them on the home office wall.
We’re in the Midlands though so I thought it’d be nice to have a Birmingham map too but the only one I could find was out of stock so I registered for stock updated emails months ago and finally it’s back in stock today.

giao · 12/02/2021 14:08

Well I completed my charity shop puzzle, 2 pieces were in a bad way, and 1 edge piece was missing, but a similar piece from a different puzzle had been included...very strange. The trickiest bit though was that the picture on the box was a square and the puzzle was a rectangle, so the sides were missing. Discovered this morning after finishing that there's a picture on the bottom of the box of the whole puzzle. I would say it's 'better late than never', but it really wasn't.

Strangely I really enjoyed this one though.
