Anyone fancy a new jigsaw thread?

Hello all.

I really enjoyed the last jigsaw thread which was going on during the summer and wondered if anyone fancied sharing any pictures of jigsaws that are currently being done?
I'm nearly finished with my Disney Christmas one. A nice easy one which has only taken me a couple of days.
The weather is grim today so I expect it will be finished very soon! I will post a full picture once it is complete.
Would love to see your jigsaws....

Finished the trees. Quite hard to distinguish those various pines! Especially at night when no natural light - my DP thought it was hilarious when he found me using my phone torch to work out which piece was which!

Yes! I’m not alone 😂

We have a lovely new light fitting in our living room but the light it gives out isn’t good (I’ve changed the bulb to the max wattage allowed) so I also resort to my phone torch at night.

Progress on my 2000 piece. I’ve nearly got it joined up across the middle using the road as a guide, and then I’ll be using the edges of buildings. I’ve removed all blue and black pieces from the box so that I’ve fewer pieces to swill around. It’s still not joining up properly at the edges!

I’ve just had an email with 15% off puzzles this weekend at George’s Whitstable if anyone is interested, code is PUZZLEDAY. Apparently it’s national puzzle day!

InchesAway · 30/01/2021 13:38

Two of my recents:
The first is Spring on Park Ave - its by Michael Storrings and its lovely - very good quality.
The second was a gift from a relative over 45 years ago and it’s called In Old Amsterdam.

Well after saying I wouldn't buy anymore puzzles, I splashed out on 3 new ones yesterday. Hoping that they arrive soon!

Finished! I'll give you a guess as to why I chose thus oneGrin. Three pieces missing though. I turned the lounge over looking for them. Founf nothing but my lounge is spotless now! Not sure what to do next. I like art and other pictures. Not really into cartoons or abstract ones like the beans or all black puzzles.

FoofOfTheWalkingDead · 30/01/2021 19:52

@HelloDoris I love the plant shelfie one. Where did you get it?

Oooh I love it! There were too many options, wish I had more spends..
FoofOfTheWalkingDead · 31/01/2021 13:42

HelloDoris I know! Had trouble choosing between the plants or the birds. Thanks for the heads up for that site. It's a treasure trove.

FoofOfTheWalkingDead · 31/01/2021 13:44

giao I definitely don't know all those birds. I just love the colours.

Many thanks Hazelmazel for the the discount code at George's Whitstable, I'd been lurking there but plunged today. And I know that if (unlikely) they're not popular here they can go on ebay, great trading there on jigsaws at the mo.

icebearforpresident · 31/01/2021 16:33

I follow a puzzler on Instagram called @karenpuzzles, she’s just started a 24,000 piece puzzle Shock.

She’s doing videos on YouTube, will be worth following along

nessnessness · 31/01/2021 18:37

Just starting this one, I see someone else had it further up the thread!

I hate sorting the edge pieces though 🙈
When I break up a puzzle, I always put the edge pieces in a little bag for whoever does it next!

Ah it's me who has that Lego one too ness but I haven't started it yet.

I got a letter back about my missing pieces from Gibson's (Christmas jigsaw) saying they can't provide replacements at the moment as they are so busy. So instead I got a discount code for a new jigsaw! I don't quite know what to do with the old jigsaw, now missing 7 pieces (you have to send 5 off). Seems a shame to just bin it.

hopeful3yr · 31/01/2021 22:28

@nessnessness we have this one... have yet to attempt it! :D

MadisonAvenue · 01/02/2021 08:45

nessnessness I always wish that the edge pieces came in a separate bag 😂

I've just completed this one and I've also ordered 4 more puzzles although 2 are for Christmas so I won't be doing those till next Christmas.

Should be asleep but had to finish this one off. It was hard and I didn't enjoy it at all. But another one done..

@DonEmmanuelsDingleberries

I finished this one by eeBoo over the weekend. Quite simple, but very pretty. Perfect for a grey day.
I’m new to the thread but we’re about to start that one, and looking forward to it Smile Oh to be swimming among fish and gorgeous corals again. I have pretty much cleaned John Lewis out of eeBoo puzzles this winter, and we’re loving them.
InMySpareTime · 03/02/2021 08:32

@HelloDoris I did that one a few weeks ago Smile.
I like that the people are the same in both halves, but 100 years different.
