Anyone fancy a new jigsaw thread?

Hello all.

I really enjoyed the last jigsaw thread which was going on during the summer and wondered if anyone fancied sharing any pictures of jigsaws that are currently being done?
I'm nearly finished with my Disney Christmas one. A nice easy one which has only taken me a couple of days.
The weather is grim today so I expect it will be finished very soon! I will post a full picture once it is complete.
Would love to see your jigsaws....

I have bought a few (but pre Xmas) from the Yorkshire jigsaw company. And last week from Present Indicative (a bit more expensive but v lovely - the tree one I posted a picture of downthread is from there).

Just started a 1980s microchip jigsaw. Only 500 pieces but tricky.

I have this puzzle board ...it has two spare boards that fit in for the spare bits so if you like to organise them into shapes/colours it's way easier than rifling though the box all the time

I got the edges of the MonaLisa done but have not had a minute to get near it this week

@DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel that is stunning. Well done, looks tricky!

Just finished the Waterloo station one, and did the map and countryside ones earlier in the week. I'm running out of jigsaws now, having redone most of them at some point over Lockdown.

Oooh, I like the badger one, @InMySpareTime - is that an Ann Searle? I love the detail in her pictures, and have several. Currently working on a feathers one with some gold metal effect (fancy).

Progress on my 2000 cityscape. I have the boats nearly done, and am working on the road that goes across the middle. The edges still aren’t right, but I’ll adjust them as I work on each area.

@BSJohnson no, it's signed "Sarah Adams 88"

toomuchlikemyusername · 18/01/2021 21:08

Inmysparetime that's a nice range of jigsaws there. I almost bought the Waterloo station one in a charity shop a few months back, but left it on the basis that I already have way too many in my collection!

A friend returned a load of jigsaws I lent her in Lockdown 2, so I'm sorted for jigsaws for a while now Grin

Love this one from cloudberries. It's actually pretty easy to do, so long as you have good light.

I made that one a couple of years ago (or maybe last year, time has no meaning anymore). I really loved it but had trouble with the yellow section and had to make it by shape because it was winter time, the days were short and artificial lighting tends to have a yellow cast. It was very soothing to make while listening to an audiobook, I love a lot of colour.

I finished this one by eeBoo over the weekend. Quite simple, but very pretty. Perfect for a grey day.

I have the cloudberries gradient puzzle. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it actually was although as the colour got lighter in the middle it was definitely more challenging. If I had the room I would try the 2000 piece gradient.

fixyourgardengate · 20/01/2021 20:33

This is a 500 piece puzzle borrowed from my Mum.

No straight edges Shock, but an enjoyable quick fix (I did this yesterday whilst supervising homeschool as it was my day off work)

My sister bought me this one for Christmas, lots of detail made it an easy one to complete.

Just watching Bargain Hunt on BBC1 and there was a lady on talking about her jigsaw collection. She showed some by a company called Victory, started by a man with the surname Cater or Hater I think in Dorset just after the end of the 1st world war. Some really lovely examples and very nostalgic.

icebearforpresident · 22/01/2021 15:24

Progress on my Foo Fighters puzzle. It’s bloody tough, this has taken me over a month although I’m not exactly sitting down every day for hours at a time.

My partner bought me a couple at Christmas, I got addicted in the first lockdown when all my work dried up. My favourite brand is probably Pomegranate, due to the arty ones. Here’s a few I’ve done recently:

My people! I got this one in summer but only started cracking on with it since this lockdown. I already know I'm missing 2 pieces😢 but I'm finishing anyway.

I've just started a Gibson's Heritage puzzle that I bought in a charity shop a few years back. It's in a square box, and I assumed it was a square puzzle, but when I started doing the edges I couldn't work out what went where. Then I noticed that a tiny 2" picture on the side of the box is actually a rectangle, so the large image has the sides missing.

Is this unusual? it's pretty old I think.

sparklesandmoresparkles · 25/01/2021 18:53

I’ve been lurking, but sadly not doing as we’re about to move house. But I saw this and fell in love 🥰 No place to do it and I don’t have £400 to spend on a jigsaw, sadly! Imagine how annoying it would be to have a piece missing in that one though!
