Oh and Valance with "cases are now starting to rise now that the lockdown has lifted"
Well done. Have a gold star.

Lostinacloud · 19/12/2020 16:29

Now is the time people! If ever there was a cause for mass civil unrest it’s now. This is fucking unbelievable. I’d take civil unrest anyway over this tier 4 bullshit. It’s destroying so many lives. Where are their “science” graphs on unemployment, suicide, bankrupt businesses, repossessed homes, increased poverty? Absolute fuckers

MoltenLasagne · 19/12/2020 16:34

^^ this.

Lostinacloud · 19/12/2020 16:36

I’ve got the headline for the protest...”Non-Covid lives matter” you fuckers

Plibber · 19/12/2020 16:42

Fucks sake. So London & the south east is back in lockdown, basically. Utter utter cunts.

I don't know how much more of this I can take.

Blobby10 · 19/12/2020 16:43

I don't normally swear but boris and all those wanky bastards at Sage and Whitty and his cohorts can all screw themselves if they think my son isn't coming home from London for Christmas. I haven't seen him since June - we are currently working on how far he can get on the train northwards so I can drive down (under the cover of darkness and wearing camouflage if necessary) and collect him and his poor girlfriend who is Romanian and will be totally on her own. They've both had negative tests recently and stick by the rules so as little risk to me as I am to them. I'm so very very very angry right now 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Yes!
TabbyStar · 19/12/2020 16:44

Well I came here to report my mum's vaccination actually went pretty smoothly, they had a wheelchair for her to wait in and I was allowed in. No queues down three pavements.

Now, did I miss anything whilst I've been out...?

MaudesMum · 19/12/2020 16:45

Arse. Going to see family in Tier 3 on the 27th and staying overnight has just gone from slightly dodgy to really not allowed.

DrDiva · 19/12/2020 16:52

write to your MP
I’ll give you three guesses who my MP is...

I’m with Plibber I just can’t do this. I can’t watch them destroy my 8yo. What do I do??

ValancyRedfern · 19/12/2020 16:54

Came looking for this thread. So angry and upset right now. 😠😠😠😠😠

ValancyRedfern · 19/12/2020 16:59

Been in a classroom with 30 kids all term. Have had Covid last week so will be clear. Not allowed to see my family at Christmas.

SirSamuelVimes · 19/12/2020 16:59

FUCKERS. Fuck this shit.

amicissimma · 19/12/2020 16:59

Interesting.

I see the Met are saying the protests in London are unlawful - more than 6 people meeting. Meanwhile in protests are expected in Truro, according to LBC (scroll down).

Maybe Hereford and Newport (IoW) should prepare themselves.

Glad to hear it went well and that they were well prepared with the wheelchair.

Not much to catch up on...

I mean this in the kindest way, and it’s a curiosity thing

Do posters in this thread still think it’s about a virus?

MoltenLasagne · 19/12/2020 17:06

“Protesters should find a safe and legal alternative to make their voice heard, until a time when the virus is no longer a threat in our city.”

This quote from Sadiq Khan in the linked article really worries me. What are the legal ways of making your voice heard now? Writing letters to MPs that never get read?

Nice to see Truro cathedral are showing solidarity despite being Tier 1.

I don't think there's a greater conspiracy, I wonder whether it's just individuals not wanting to make decisions that they fear will lead to more deaths so they're being ultra-risk averse, many of us will see this on a smaller scale in our day-to-day lives - I certainly do with ridiculous public sector commissioning exercises. Also that psychological thing about having committed to something making you discount evidence against it (confirmation bias?)

Iheartmysmart · 19/12/2020 17:12

Interesting question Acorn and personally I’m really not sure any more.

foodledoff · 19/12/2020 17:16

This can just fuck off to the far side of fuck and then fuck off some more...

Apologies - London based frequent lurker on the AD threads just letting off some steam...

Plibber · 19/12/2020 17:17

They've not even bothered to update the gov.uk page yet.

So under the "stay at home" order applying from midnight, I don't even know if we're allowed out of the house to go for a family walk tomorrow!

Utter bastards.

NastyBlouse · 19/12/2020 17:19

I think it's about ego. They've tied themselves into this and can't change the dialogue now. They could have around July. Changing the rules so that Covid was subject to the same rules and reporting as any other seasonal illness. But they stuck to the script.

But it's not just the UK. They're all at it. Europe, USA, Australia, NZ. Who knows what is actually going on in China...

The science has developed, but the politicking hasn't.

But I do stand by human behaviour not being able to remain quenched like this forever. People are quietly resisting and doing their own thing. A lot more people have doubt and fatigue and are prioritising their emotional survival over jingoistic obedience.

Yes, you can. It’s basically lockdown.
AcornAutumn · 19/12/2020 17:22

Bog - the fact it’s worldwide is what makes it even less about a virus.

I bet Brexit negotiations have factored into this.
