Help with stupidly hard quiz

Each year my work does a stupidly hard quiz. There are many stages and we get a month to try and do it.

Anyone help me with this stage? there are 21 pictures of celebrities and I've managed to work out who they all are but now I'm stuck on working out the password to the next stage. Each picture has a coloured Roman numeral in it so I assume I have to use those to work out the answer...

TBF windows/computer calls patience Solitaire, because it's American.

Surely some of those are titles of Stephen King novels? Firestarter, Insomnia, dreamcatcher?

soupdragon that makes sense as the dreamcatcher and the giants both have equals signs on them so they can't be in the same group. think bfg might be wrong

The sun/ star could be The Shining?

Right. I have to go now as I've got to pick my kids up and "it makes them sad" apparently if I'm 3 hours late because I'm doing puzzles. They're so needy

the Shining could be Shine by Take That though.

Mmm. It's like the connecting wall - answers could be in two different categories.

There are 27 pictures so there can't be an equal amount in each category. Unless one picture has been missed in the screenshot?

I think switch "The Shining" into the Take That category as that puts 7 in each of them.

The screenshot is very blurred on my tiny screen so I can't work out what we're supposed to do with these answers. Equations of some kind?

I would have thought so, yes. It may be clear on the original puzzle page whether it makes sense or where the errors are. There are 4 apparent categories though - I guess it depends how many equals signs there are!

I can't read any of the numbers OR signs.

Yes - there's a number in the top left of each picture and a mathematical symbol in the right bottom corner.
