We might be craving tiles, but we'll leave the woodchip and artex alone unless we're feeling very brave...

Welcome into another thread covering the whole range of life and death, novelty vegetables, DIY, any other randomness and musings about a certain pandemic.

Thanks from me too Reedwarbler, it's inhumane that this is happening.

Weneedmusicandtheatre · 04/12/2020 18:03

@Reedwarbler I am so very sorry for your loss. There have been many stories of inhumanity in not allowing care home/hospital visitors but when you add incompetence into the mix it is truly horrendous.

NeedWineNow · 04/12/2020 18:04

@Reedwarbler I feel so much for you and Mr R, it has been horrendous. Condolences and Flowers and a very un -MNetty hug.

NannyGythaOgg · 04/12/2020 18:06

So sorry @reedwarbler, That is a shit way for life to end and a shit experience for the family.

Willow2017 · 04/12/2020 18:17

So sorry Reedwarbler what an indictment on "the caring profession".
So unnecessary for someone so vulnerable not to have family there whenever they wanted to be.
Condolences for you and your family.

countrygirl99 · 04/12/2020 18:19

@Reedwarbler so sorry. What have we come to as a society?

rosettesforjill · 04/12/2020 18:40

I'm so, so sorry to hear that @Reedwarbler Thanks

AcornAutumn · 04/12/2020 19:09

Reed I’m sorry for your loss

And I’m so sorry for the lack of humanity. I wish I could help Flowers

Littlebelina · 04/12/2020 19:09

Flowers @Reedwarbler

RobinHobb · 04/12/2020 19:12

@Reedwarbler I'm so sorry for your loss. The nhs role in this has been appalling - I don't know what to say.

TheOrchidKiller · 04/12/2020 19:16

So sorry, Reedwarbler

AcornAutumn · 04/12/2020 19:16

I don’t have a share token but the Belgian Health
Minister has admitted closing shops was a scare tactic

Aztectrousers · 04/12/2020 19:43

It’s a disgrace Reedwarbler. Sorry for your loss.

Why would you play with people's livelihoods like that. It's so controlling.

Curlygirl06 · 04/12/2020 19:47

Reedwarbler sorry to hear your news. It's shit. X

AcornAutumn · 04/12/2020 19:54

Suffering I’m sorry I can’t find the source

But an Australian education minister said similar about schools, it was in the minutes of their equivalent to SAGE meetings. I wish I’d kept screenshots of stuff like that but I didn’t realise people would be so happy with lockdowns.

Amd of course we had our government saying “we never ordered schools to close” after they...ordered schools to close.

MercyBooth · 04/12/2020 20:07

Found this on fb earlier. Talk Radio interview with Richard Madeley.

Lockdown sceptic and broadcaster Richard Madeley says Boris Johnson is talking to people in the nation "as if they were a class of rather dim 8-year-olds."

justasking111 · 04/12/2020 21:24

Well re dim 8 year olds the people the news channels interviewed on the streets of south Wales were cringe worthy. It does make you wonder how many people are so badly educated going back generations

[/quote] To e fair, I think Madely often acts like an 8 year old
110APiccadilly · 04/12/2020 21:36

So sorry @Reedwarbler. That's just appalling.

Evenstar · 04/12/2020 22:02

@Reedwarbler so very sorry, whatever was going on with coronavirus the end of your FIL’s life should not have been that way. If it’s any comfort DM was a nurse for over 40 years and always said how important it was to talk to the dying as often the sense of hearing is the last to go. I am sure he knew that your DH was there. Thinking of you all 💐

amicissimma · 04/12/2020 22:06

@Reedwarbler, I'm so sorry about your FIL and the manner of his passing.

Every time I feel deep relief that my beloved mum is no longer with us I wonder what the world has come to. She was in an excellent home and either I or Dsis visited every day. After her stroke she would never have understood why we didn't come, but I can't see how the Home would have been able to allow us in and she was too deaf and blind for a techy solution, or shouting through the window.

PinkFondantFancy · 04/12/2020 22:19

@Reedwarbler I'm truly sorry for your loss

BogRollBOGOF · 04/12/2020 22:25

Friday night doesn't half bring out the mask bullies.
I'm like an arachnophobe drawn to threads asking if they should burn down the house every autumn Grin

I really couldn’t care less if people wear a mask or not. What really pisses me off are the “I have (insert relevant whatever) but I can still wear a mask so why can’t you” people! Fuck off the lot of you... sorry wine has been consumed! Lots of wine!
