Chippy tea - what's your order?

Sat on DS2s floor waiting for him to go to sleep and thinking of the chippy tea I'll be having shortly but can't decide what I want. Inspire me with your favourites!

We had a chippy tea, chips and gravy with a battered sausage on the side Grin

Winederlust · 24/11/2020 19:56

Butter pies are amazing 😋 Not with chips though, that's just too much potato even for me!
My chippy tea would be either cheese and onion pie, or steak pudding, chips and gravy. LOADS of vinegar.

purplecorkheart · 24/11/2020 19:56

No chippy for me as the two in my town are poor and I am on a diet.

However, my order used to be a snack box (chicken and Chips) with garlic mushroom. I have never been to a chip shop that did gravy but if they did I would order that too.

CosyQueen · 24/11/2020 19:56

Large battered sausage, or what our chippy calls ‘chicken in a bun’ (which is just a southern fried chicken breast fillet in a bun, with lettuce and mayo) with chips and curry sauce for me,
Cheese burger, spam fritter and chips for DH
Small sausage and chips for DS

ladymalfoy45 · 24/11/2020 19:58

Chips, battered sausage, peas n curry sauce. Lashings of s&v. Tomato ketchup.

Zenithbear · 24/11/2020 19:58

Cod and well done chips. Loads of salt and proper vinegar. Ketchup. Thick white buttered bread. Eaten out of the wrapper with no cutlery.

chunkyrun · 24/11/2020 19:58

Gravy does not belong on chips. Not ever.

^^ unless you lean towards the finer things in life Grin

NeutralJanet · 24/11/2020 19:59

Pizza crunch or special fish supper, washed down with irn bru.

Scarby9 · 24/11/2020 19:59

Fish and mushy peas and tartare sauce. No chips or scraps, please.

Pepperwand · 24/11/2020 19:59

Oh my god as a Lancashire girl living down south I dream of butter pies. Usually stock up when I'm visiting then keep them in the freezer so I can have a taste of home!

For my order I'll have either pea fritter, chips and gravy or battered sausage, chipd and curry sauce.

KodakNancyEurope · 24/11/2020 20:01

I’m a hardcore traditionalist so it’s a haddock supper (which is haddock and chips), loads of salt & vinegar and washed down with a bottle of coke and a cup of tea.

No fancy dans here.

Pepperwand · 24/11/2020 20:01

Actually I'm dreaming....they don't do gravy in the chippies down here (heathens) so I have to add it when I get home!

Cherrysoup · 24/11/2020 20:01

Chips, rice and curry. Easy.

doctorhamster · 24/11/2020 20:02

Cod, chips, curry sauce.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 24/11/2020 20:03

Oh and can I have a mug of tea too please. It has to be a mug with a chippy tea, the fine China doesn't seem to go with it somehow.

KeyLimePies · 24/11/2020 20:03

I don’t have a chippy near me 😭😭 probably a good thing though. My fave is half chips, half fried rice and curry sauce from Chinese chippy.

Cailleachian · 24/11/2020 20:06

Our standard order is haggis supper, pizza crunch supper and a single fish.

WildRosie · 24/11/2020 20:07

It must be nearly ten years since I've had fish and chips but I'd keep it simple nonetheless. Haddock or cod (not fussy), chips (obviously), scraps, salt and vinegar. Possibly a breadcake or buttered sliced bread. No yucky ketchup, curry sauce or minging mushy peas!! Hot, strong tea is a must.

WildRosie · 24/11/2020 20:08

Oh, and the fish must be skinless. I think that's something that varies regionally.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 24/11/2020 20:09

pizza crunch supper. You're going to have to explain that one to me sorry. And I thought I knew chip shops Smile

EminyBOO · 24/11/2020 20:10

Fish and chips with plenty of s&v and a portion of curry sauce on the side.

Indoctro · 24/11/2020 20:11

Chips cheese and curry sauce and a Macaroni pie

nancybotwinbloom · 24/11/2020 20:11

Sausage dinner
Sausage chips gravy and processed peas.

ScottishStottie · 24/11/2020 20:12

Chop suey roll is a new discovery for me and i love it! So its my order from a chippy every time!

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 24/11/2020 20:12
