Chippy tea - what's your order?

Sat on DS2s floor waiting for him to go to sleep and thinking of the chippy tea I'll be having shortly but can't decide what I want. Inspire me with your favourites!

Spring roll, chips and curry sauce.

In the event of no spring rolls being available and not wanting to wait for one to be cooked then I'd replace it with either a fishcake or mini fish.

cleanasawhistle · 24/11/2020 20:42

Chips ,peas and gravy
or
Cheese rissole and chips

Juanbablo · 24/11/2020 20:48

Curry roll, chips with lots of salt and vinegar, ketchup, Dr Pepper.

ParkheadParadise · 24/11/2020 20:52

@MissEliza
My username is definitely a giveaway😂😂
Had many visits to Pizza Crolla.

InvisibleToEveryone · 24/11/2020 20:52

@whoami24601

🤷‍♀️
That's what my chippy sells, kebabs, fish, sausages, pies and chicken
And chips obviously.

So my favourite is a chicken shish.

whoami24601 · 24/11/2020 21:13

Sorry but I'm a stickler. To count as a proper chippy tea the main part must be battered and fried. No pies, pasties or kebabs here!

Scollop butty is sliced potato, battered and deep fried and served in a bread roll.

Pattie, chips, mushy peas and scraps

Cailleachian · 24/11/2020 21:23

@JiltedJohnsJulie

Pizza crunch = battered deep fried pizza.

Labobo · 24/11/2020 21:23

Large cod feeds 3 of us as our local chippy does cod about 16 inches long for a fiver! And large chips feeds three of us too. Add mushy peas for DH and a bag of onion rings and small chips for DS1 who is veggie so cooks his own veggie pakora or breaded tofu to go with.

Very rare treat in this house. About twice a year but soooo good when we have it.

QueenPaws · 24/11/2020 21:24

Battered sausage, chips, scraps, separate curry sauce and a buttered barm
That's actually so much Lancashire in one small sentence GrinGrin

Labobo · 24/11/2020 21:24

@DeadBod I love scraps. Best bit. Our chippy doesn't do them but when I was little our local chippy gave them out free to us if we pestered. Grin

happytoday73 · 24/11/2020 21:26

Pudding, chips and gorgeous thick gravy

HeronLanyon · 24/11/2020 21:27

Chips gravy and onions. I thank you.

QueenPaws · 24/11/2020 21:28

This was my last visit to them. Think it was about £3.50 or something ridiculously cheap. Yes, I like scraps

Chippy tea - what's your order?

queenpaws GrinGrinGrin

happymummy12345 · 24/11/2020 21:31

Usually I just have some chips. Nothing with them

swampytiggaa · 24/11/2020 21:34

Cod chips mushy peas and pineapple fritter 🙂 might get a chippy tea at the weekend...

purplecorkheart · 24/11/2020 21:34

No scraps here. They love fab!!

RoseDog · 24/11/2020 21:35

White pudding supper with salt and vinegar

MooseyGoose90 · 24/11/2020 21:36

North west- sausage chips peas and gravy, buttered muffin on the side. A ridiculous amount of salt and vinegar and a can of ice cold coke to wash it down with!

PajamasnoDramas · 24/11/2020 21:36

Chips with liberal dousing of s&v, haddock, small battered sausage and crispy mushrooms and perhaps gravy if I feel like it. This makes me sound a right glutton but it’s half a haddock portion and half portion of chips, and half mushrooms. Still more calories than I need but each and every one will have been thoroughly enjoyed Grin

Megan2018 · 24/11/2020 21:36

Large haddock-not cod, cod has worms.
Medium chips
Ice cold Becks Blue

Sixtonskip · 24/11/2020 21:40

Fish, chips, curry sauce, can of full fat coke. Yum!

Bloodybridget · 24/11/2020 21:41

Small cod, portion of chips to share with DP as our local does huge portion. Salt and tomato ketchup to be deployed at home. But even better eaten by a harbour.
