Another thousand posts filled and we're ploughing on through another weekend of squelching through parks before we hit the Long Dark Teatime of the Soul.

The AD chat continues...

[quote MercyBooth]Vid of MP Charles Walker objecting to an elderly protester being put into a police van. Also contains vid of him bringing it up in HoC.

I really hope that makes it to the news.

ISaySteadyOn · 24/11/2020 18:51

Me too.

I think Hancock is just covering his backside as he is eventually going to be a scapegoat for at least some of this.

Bollss · 24/11/2020 18:51

Thank you everyone xx

flower11 · 24/11/2020 18:52

I walked through a deserted park this afternoon, a couple were wearing masks while walking their dog. I think some people still believe its literally air borne.
Down the other end of the park four old ladies were sat on a bench laughing and chatting while their dogs ran about exercising themselves. It was really sweet to see them out, getting on with life.

Meanwhile my face book was full of if you go Christmas shopping you will get the virus and die, some people still have no sense of proportion.

CruCru · 24/11/2020 18:58

I really sorry to hear about your friend TrustTheGeneGenie.

Sonicthehedgehogg · 24/11/2020 19:01

Three household bubbles over Christmas. DH and I are in fits thinking about the start of Christmas arguments.
If the bubbles are fixed it will presumably mean you have to choose your family or your DH/DW's (unless the outlaws are happy to socialise together). Never mind if you're one of multiple children or a more blended family. Absolutely hilarious. MN is going to explode Grin

Orangeblossom7777 · 24/11/2020 19:06

It already has...have you seen the thread about tiers and Christmas mixing. Tying themselves up in knots over the whole thing

NastyBlouse · 24/11/2020 19:07

@AcornAutumn

Bog, what’s the S word please?
‘Safe’ I would imagine

@flower11 People do think its airborne. Post after post on covid board and social media people bleating on about it being an airborne virus.
Sonicthehedgehogg · 24/11/2020 19:08

Have sent message to mum asking if she's happy to bubble with DH's parents (and therefore not see her other children). Bah ha ha ha ha Grin

AcornAutumn · 24/11/2020 19:09

Nasty - oh I see! I think avoiding MSM does me a power of good.

Three households - me, mum, sister okay then.

JamSarnie · 24/11/2020 19:09

I agree MN is going to explode with the Christmas bubble threads Grin

MagdaS · 24/11/2020 19:10

The Christmas bubbles are a logistical nightmare.

We could see my parents and my ILs, but then my parents couldn’t see my sister, and neither could I, unless we forego seeing my ILs.

My ILs don’t have this issue as BIL is single and in a support bubble with us, so they could see one household of friends too.

@sonicthehedgehogg Saw a post on a news article on Facebook from someone with large blended family ended with "....and I ain't choosing between my family members. I'm going to celebrate Christmas with my whole family like I always do, fuck you Boris" The site comments are EXPLODING its hilarious.
Taswama · 24/11/2020 19:10

I'm assuming its 3 households at a time. So I can see DP and DB on 23rd, DPIL on 24th, my little family on 25th, DSILs on 26th.

MercyBooth · 24/11/2020 19:11

Devi Sridhar and Joan Bakewell pissing all over it on Channel 4 news. Why not a more balanced discussion.

Not according to NS, and they're meant to be all the same across Britain at Christmas. Alas, my mother knows my feelings and is more AD than me. DH is going to tell his parents we're seeing mine on Christmas Day, so if they want to see DD they can't see BIL/SIL. Very naughty and very funny. Grin
AcornAutumn · 24/11/2020 19:14

I really need to pull myself together re food

I hate supermarkets but I’ve been going more because I can’t see anyone in the evening. I went last night and am already thinking to go again! Sampling every type of mince pie they have to offer.

MercyBooth · 24/11/2020 19:14

Meals outside? Its December. And some people live in flats Sridhar needs to check her privilege.

DrDiva · 24/11/2020 19:21

So sorry for your friend @TrustTheGeneGenie - this is all so tragic on so many levels. Flowers

I was going to ask about the s word too!

The households make no difference to us. It will be the three of us as always. But it’s entertaining reading the limbo being undertaken for others!

MercyBooth · 24/11/2020 19:22

@AcornAutumn Cant stand mince pies myself but thought you might like some of these.

That's one of the things that really gets to me about all this. People not realising that others have different lives and different circumstances and just assuming everyone can do what they do.
LivinLaVidaLoki · 24/11/2020 19:24

@AcornAutumn
I've been errrrr sampling mince pies for a while now. Don't know where you are based but if you are near a Booths, their mince pies are AMAZING!
