Be honest. Is your tree up?

My street is lit up with decorations and has been for almost 2 weeks now - it's incredible what a handful of houses can do to LIGHT UP THE ENTIRE STREET. Ok, it's a short street, but still.

Three houses have Christmas trees, as far as I can see.

Someone I went to school with has posted photos of her FIVE Christmas trees on Facebook this evening - the woman lives in a bloody flat! I don't know where they're all going.

It's not just me holding out, is it? Hmm

I've got two trees, so I've put one up in the hall. I won't put the main one up yet as I need to decorate and move furniture around. Knowing me that'll be in a few years time. Grin

BackforGood · 20/11/2020 22:03

No. It's November according to my calendar.

HeyMicky · 20/11/2020 22:04

No. A real one would be dead by Dec 25

No because it isn't Christmas yet

tinkerbellvspredator · 20/11/2020 22:04

No although I am itching to, but not until December.

Extra decorations have been arriving this week from various online retailers, and I've been sewing Xmas fabric wrapping bags.

lucysmam · 20/11/2020 22:05

No, not yet.

The girls' dad will get my boxes of decs out next Friday as it's the most convenient day for him. They'll steadily go up over the next week or so after that but no great rush.

ginsparkles · 20/11/2020 22:06

Yes ours are mostly up. We have a real one that will arrive at the beginning of December but the rest has gone up. Outside lights will go up this weekend. We fancied adding some brightness to this dreary lockdown mark 2.

JemimaJellyfish · 20/11/2020 22:07

Not yet but I notice my usually very sensible next door neighbour has put his decorations up already, about three weeks earlier than usual.

Shortsinwinter · 20/11/2020 22:07

I try to do mine as close to 12 days before as I can. Prob do it on 13th & I will take it down during the day on Dec 31st

SendHelp30 · 20/11/2020 22:08

My sons birthday is 6/12 so ours will be going up after then

CountFosco · 20/11/2020 22:08

I love Christmas but the Christmas Tree farm we buy ours from only opened today and we've booked a slot to buy our two trees on 13th December. They would be dead by Christmas if we had it up now! I'm concerned that buying it a week earlier than normal will mean it's dead by 5th Jan. We'll start putting up decoration in the first week but we put the home made decorations up first (and slowly). Paper snowflakes first, then pomanders then paperchains then we'll do some origami decorations.

FunnysInLaJardin · 20/11/2020 22:09

We will put a fresh one up around the 20th December and take it down on the 12th night, so around 5th Jan

MrsJBaptiste · 20/11/2020 22:10

No, kids are desperate for it to go up but we're planning it for next Saturday 🎄
We have a few up on our street but really 1 in 20 houses so not many. I reckon that will change though...

doctorhamster · 20/11/2020 22:10

No. 1st of December here.

latheritup · 20/11/2020 22:11

Yep and the lights outside. Only been a couple of days though.

Milkshake7489 · 20/11/2020 22:11

No... but it's going up tomorrow and I can't wait Grin

BiddyPop · 20/11/2020 22:12

No decorations here yet at all

TheSmallAssassin · 20/11/2020 22:13

I would normally put ours up sometime between the first weekend in December and Christmas Eve, but no idea when we will do it this year, because we are both working from the bit of the living room we normally put the tree in!

LimeLemonOrange · 20/11/2020 22:14

It's our tradition to put ours up on the weekend closest to my birthday, which is just before mid December

AlwaysLatte · 20/11/2020 22:14

Nope, another one for not liking plastic trees, so I'll be waiting until second week in December. That said the other decorations normally creep in from the start of December. Not November though!! But if people like to put them up they are totally inoffensive to other people and I do enjoy seeing the lights as I drive through so go for it!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 20/11/2020 22:16

No. We do ours the first weekend in December. My neighbour has decorations up though.

IntoP20 · 20/11/2020 22:17

Ours will be going up the last weekend in November. I usually think it’s tacky putting them up before December but I’m going to make an exception this year

Merename · 20/11/2020 22:22

No, have it booked to be delivered on sun 6th by men dressed as elves!

jocktamsonsbairn · 20/11/2020 22:29

No but I'd like to! Always get a real tree so waiting for December!

ShedFace · 20/11/2020 22:31

No. Do you not get sick of it? I always think it spoils the excitement to do it too early.
