ADs won't tut when you're stuck in a rut, we're all too busy pouring Amaretto in our porridge

Welcome into another thread of alternative reality as we try to nagivate through the Coronacoaster of life.

We may be up, down, spinning around (generally in confusion at the next random edict drawn up on the back of a fag packet) but never sucking the joy out of life.

We had porridge for breakfast too. Although syrrup was more appropriate for a school morning Grin

Love this title 😂

DrDiva · 04/11/2020 11:13

Awesome, I found you this time! Thank you for the new thread and I look forward to more sanity-inducing chat.
My colleagues have gone full-on doom and gloom. I wish I could mute my work email!!

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 04/11/2020 11:16

Thanks for the new thread! Place marking for later.

DrDiva · 04/11/2020 11:17

Oh, I just read the end of the last thread @BogRollBOGOF - Grin for your pun and I also misread at first and thought you’d said you were once a nun! Well, a friend of mine has parents who are an ex-nun and an ex-priest so I guess it happens.
And re the puns, my 8yo has finally got the hang of these so it’s pun-central round here. I may need extra gin.

Sonicthehedgehogg · 04/11/2020 11:17

Checking in, bringing a dose of the 'Rona with me but hopefully no gloom.

Sat in the garden with a coffee whilst DD digs for worms Grin Just commenting on how the sun hits the stupid garage so well.... next year it's getting sledgehammered and I'm doing a patio.

ISaySteadyOn · 04/11/2020 11:21

I made it to the zoo!

NannyGythaOgg · 04/11/2020 11:24

Hi All
And for anyone that needs it a link to the last thread

littlbrowndog · 04/11/2020 11:26

If only I had been a nun then I would have no need for nurseries 😂

NastyBlouse · 04/11/2020 11:30

Full marks for ‘coronacoaster’ by the way Grin

rosettesforjill · 04/11/2020 11:32

Thanks for new thread. I'm at work but feeling on edge (about the US election instead of Covid this time) - so checking in for some sanity!

Willow2017 · 04/11/2020 11:48

Thanks for new thread. Great title.
Not around much on last one as was avoiding MN as much as poss. Must try harder😄

Am flouting and flocking to garden centre soon to get some plants for my bulb pots. Want something lovely to look at while i wait for spring.

Work affected by lockdown so hours will be cut and will be jack of all trades again all over the place. Not looking forward to it but nothing to do but suck it up.

KBO lovely people.

BogRollBOGOF · 04/11/2020 11:59

As a result of our last page of chat I've found a good youtube channel with ballet classes. I managed about 17 mins of a 28 min video, but in my defence my legs are feeling it after doing tomorrow's fitness class yesterday on top of Monday's after a week off.
(It makes sense in my head anyway!)

Youtube ballet sounds as good a way as any to survive the next few weeks!
At least this time the TVs aren't dominated by the DCs. Gotta love education. Wink

Well at least it's a beautiful sunny day.
Glad you got to the zoo ISay.
I got to the gym - it was nice and busy.

Littlebelina · 04/11/2020 12:09

Checking in from house arrest!

Bollss · 04/11/2020 12:24

checking in!

annoyed at the world today and more specifically at my water company who fucked up and have put on my credit report that i have not paid for TWO YEARS. Only found out because our mortgage is up for renewal and they offered me a shit rate because of my "defaults" - my sorry what now?!

Finally got to the bottom of it but waiting for a bloody letter from water company to prove to mortgage company that i am not in their debt!!

And breathe..

Recycledblonde · 04/11/2020 12:26

Checking in, poised and ready to deal with all those stuck in ruts whilst murdering grannies and slurping fortified porridge.
I've had a lovely week so far, facial, hair cut and coloured, one dinner out and off out to lunch today with DH, DS1 and DD.

MissEWeatherwax · 04/11/2020 12:31

Went to hairdressers today. The mood was very
sober and down beat. Feel very sad for them.

Worldgonecrazy · 04/11/2020 12:37

Checking in. Thank you ADs for being sanity in a crazy world.

Orangeblossom7777 · 04/11/2020 12:38

I'll go to the botanical gardens today to say goodbye; it is a lovely sunny day here. People are waiting patiently in queues for the little cafe on the square outside.

Glad you made it to the zoo Isay

Orangeblossom7777 · 04/11/2020 12:39

I rang the garden centre to check can still buy pets- we have a new aquarium - and yes they are open as normal.

IwishIwasyoda · 04/11/2020 12:51

Oh ballet people how I envy you! I meanwhile have just bought wine ...

PickAChew · 04/11/2020 12:55

Loving coronacoaster

And placemsrking because you're moving fast, again.

Newgirls · 04/11/2020 13:00

Ooh online ballet sounds good. I have recently discovered single malt whisky so could try that instead of sultanas in my porridge

Am busy booking up anyone who will say yes to go for walks with flasks

Have been shopping for gifts today and got lots of things at reasonable prices and a new dress for me

DominaShantotto · 04/11/2020 13:03

Checking in - had a morning of really tedious crap. Now into reading week (and a half cos nothing else on this week) so I'm going to relax a little bit once I've finished this task I'm currently on.

Been up half the night watching the election as well so I'm bloody knackered.
