I've started a new one. Please join us and share the boring and mundane things happening in your world. It will be calming for all.

I went straight to Emma Bridgewater but was scandalised at being made to pay £3.50 for no letters. The price suddenly starts shooting up when you end up buying 2 sets, let alone being charged for no words!

DramaLlama12 · 17/11/2020 20:24

Just been told about a new B&M store that has 40 aisles !!!
Apparently it’s the best one yet according to my friend she went today
I’m not going to spend ANY money tomorrow.. I’ve literally bought crap everyday for a week . I’m saving B&M for a special day
Not enjoying IACGMOOH this years at all and I love that show

DramaLlama12 · 17/11/2020 20:25

Oh and they have SOOOOOOOO much Christmas stuff apparently

HelenaJustina · 17/11/2020 20:34

@TrickyD congratulations on the engagement!

@Champagneforeveryone Today I also stupidly volunteered to be part of our village advent windows. Fingers crossed for a late December date... I’m assuming a new one is unveiled each day rather than all 24 at once?

PersisFord · 17/11/2020 20:43

What is village advent windows?!??

DramaLlama12 · 17/11/2020 20:44

I’ve just heard the freeway free love , love is free advert
Why do I think it has a bit of a sexual nature to it . I just think of 60’s hippy commune whenever I hear that tune

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 17/11/2020 21:02

My brother sent my dog an advent calendar. 😁

Therainisback · 17/11/2020 21:06

I also volunteered our window for our local church 's scent windows. Haven't told DH yet ( I have zero artistic talent so it will be his job).

The gas man still hasn't turned up to mend the broken pilot light on our had fire.
DH is currently eating peanuts. He is the loudest most annoying eater ever and I may have to kill him soon.

Therainisback · 17/11/2020 21:07

Bloody auto correct. Advent not scent
Gas fire not had fire

Squirrel26 · 17/11/2020 21:08

I resisted having another Twix this afternoon. But I've just had a Wispa.

The dishwasher was full, so I've put it on.

Magicsprinkles · 17/11/2020 21:13

I snuggled up in bed and read this thread and it made me laugh and feel calm and somehow safer.

EggyPegg · 17/11/2020 21:15

I need to see these advent windows please. I'm a Town Mouse through and through so village traditions are novel to me (I do work in a village school though).
DH is watching the football and then we're going to watch Bake Off.

MissConductUS · 17/11/2020 21:34

I just had some chocolate covered almonds and a small cup of coffee. I've made DD a grilled cheese sandwich (cheddar and bacon on sour dough) and will take her to work shortly. DH and I will have similar sandwiches for dinner tea.

I'm keeping an eye on the post count and will open the next thread later on tonight and post the link here.

Done laundry, walked to the farm shop.

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 17/11/2020 21:39

Had the beat part of a very nice bottle of red wine...🥴

PersisFord · 17/11/2020 21:59

How is your mum @MissConductUS?

halfpasteleven · 17/11/2020 22:17

@Magicsprinkles it is the most comforting thing I've read in ages
Happily addicted now Smile

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 17/11/2020 22:31

I have just finished working.
DD came and told me, just because nobody can tell me to go home bc, I am already there, is no excuse to keep working. But I wanted to finish sth.
The rain has arrived.
I hope everybody is as well as possible.

MissConductUS · 17/11/2020 22:33

@PersisFord Thanks for asking. She's sleeping a lot and a bit more foggy than usual but still has no fever or cough, so mostly asymptomatic.

Here's the new thread. I would have waited a bit more but need to have dinner and didn't want this one to fill up without posting the link.

I've cleaned my windows today, first time in 18 months 😊

EggyPegg · 17/11/2020 22:47

I'll post on the new thread later, but for now I need the soothing tones of this one following Bake Off.

TenCornMaidens · 17/11/2020 22:52

I have studiously avoided committing to any community activities (such as window advent calendar) for ages now and am much much happier. But I did buy some outdoor decorations aimed PURELY at the adorable toddlers who come by for walks.

I think I genuinely helped a friend in a phone call today, which was nice. And an old friends mum called me for a natter... We set the world to rights.

Two of the cream teas I ordered were delivered over the weekend and went down very well. Last is tomorrow for a birthday for someone who lives alone.

Had a smear test and it wasn't too bad. Hurrah.

mathanxiety · 17/11/2020 23:43

Got home a little early, house quiet as the grave, nobody home but the cat. Bliss.
