Clean sheets tonight, the BLISS

DH is playing online poker with work colleagues tonight so has commandeered my crap laptop as it has Zoom installed, so I'm using his far superior and much larger one to write the assignment that I need to submit by midnight. It's like looking at a TV screen. DCat2 is sat beside me, grooming vocally.

The dog has pushed his bone under the footstool, so now he is lying in front of it sighing and looking sad.

I feel very heavy as I've just had a spinach/mushroom/cheese baguette.

I'm going to have to sit for a while until I stop feeling sleepy.

I foolishly opened a packet of Cheddars, forgetting that they are effectively crack in biscuit form. Cannot now move from the sofa as I am stranded on my back like a beetle.

Eggy, it's good to see that you have full cat supervision. And that does look like quite the laptop.

DH has finished setting up DS's new laptop with security and backup software, loaded Windows updates, installed latest firmware, etc. Now it's shut off until he comes home in two weeks. It's nice having an IT bloke in the house.

Discovered Mimosas and Buck’s Fizz ARE THE SAME THING !!!!

I always thought they were the same but learned recently they're meant to have slightly different ratios of champagne to orange juice (I think buck's fizz has more champagne to orange juice but a mimosa is equal amounts).

I didn't even know they were meant to have a ratio though, I just bunged both in the same glass before.

I’m a bung it in the glass while sucking the froth off the top of the glass before I lose it kind of girl too .. Prosecco is so damn fizzy

I'm the worst at measuring shots too, I'm a wine drinker so if you come to my house with spirits then it's definitely a lot safer to mix your own drinks. If I do drink spirits it's only straight whisky so a generous glug always goes into the tumbler.

I was working until 9pm last night, it would be nicer if someone suggested I take some time back today but they won’t, we don’t have the capacity. My biggest dilemma is how to get to a post office to send a birthday present to my niece. It has to go today!

I am working a 12 hour shift later, 7pm to 7am today and tomorrow. Financially it's a ludicrous amount of money and I will be grateful for it when I get paid, in the cold hard light of day however I'm bitterly regretting agreeing to it

Do you realise that it is physically impossible to only eat one Ritz cracker?
Apparently opening a packet triggers some sort of control mechanism which automatically moves the hand from box to mouth in a repetitive action until the last one has been consumed.
(That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!)

Just sent an email to DS’s teachers about the online phonics sessions. DS was doing so well this morning until we had one and then the wheels came off massively. They’re awful, tbh - everyone shouting answers out and the video breaking up because we have shit rural internet - I ended up bailing out halfway through this time. And then crying. It’s just too much for him and he ends up throwing himself around the room banging into the furniture and throwing things. Nightmare.

Really hoping they can find an alternative, we’ve tried to make this work but it just isn’t.

I’d be surprised if there weren’t a load of other people who also have trouble with online phonics. Virtual learning for primary aged children sounds like a nightmare.

I have a really annoying meeting to do in half an hour. I might go and waste money on a coffee to make myself feel better about it.

We are on day 2 of the home ed with DS. First maths session on pie charts he refused as said was too easy so I did Monday's lesson with him as that was already there. History seem to have uploaded about a year's worth of lessons and he's only out for a week and a day in theory.

Ed psych referral for DS has been signed off.

Just about to have lunch. Just having a smoked salmon salad and a fruit salad as eaten too much junk recently. Have had last of the mulled wine.

Only DD is out of the house today, she has school.

Decided I will get coffee after annoying meeting, as a reward. Hope the sun is still out by that time.

A nice man came and put a new shower in (but I'm excited about this, does it count?).

I kept an insurance scammer on the phone for ten minutes .

Boiler being replaced right now.

Collected my husband's Dalek birthday cake after lunch. It looks amazing.

Then had a lovely nap after waking up at 5:30 this morning for no reason.

Friday at last, i have been in a foul mood all week, not looking forward to having to paint the kitchen this weekend, but thought it a nice dull activity for this thread!
After work tonight must go to the bank and will try visiting the supermarket to fill up fridge - havent been in a while, and it will be strange seeing all the non essential shelves closed off.
Rest day today so no run for me but am aching badly after starting a new J. Michaels DVD with weights yesterday!
Looking forward to doing a longer run in the morning but will have to save some energy for painting.
I have loved seeing all the pet pics, my cat hasn't been seen all day but he loves all this working from home lark.. my offering !
