@dolphinpose

Those running pants look great OP. Nice cut and colours.

I made a pasta sauce with an entire bunch of basil in it (as well as garlic, red wine and a sprinkling of fresh mild chilli). Tasted great but DH said next time he'd add herbs. Hmm

You’ve just reminded me I have a bunch of fresh parsley in the fridge that needs eating up!
MissConductUS · 11/11/2020 22:48

@PersisFord It is a lovely sounding word. It denotes that bishops have authority rather than a single leader like the pope. It's quite interesting how it evolved from the C of E.

What do Americans call a British fanny? We need to know!

@soddingkitten I wouldn't touch that question with a 10 foot barge pole. Grin

DD4 decided to bake a batch of oatmeal choc chip cookies at 10pm, so I am up munching cookies and sipping a glass of milk.

Frownette · 12/11/2020 04:58

@mathanxiety sounds nice!

@MissConductUS actually it's a grant rather than a loan. I was drumming my fingers thinking about new computer equipment I need and decided to apply on the offchance, so I'm going to be like a kid in a sweet shop when it comes around to making my purchases! Blush

My dull and unexciting news: we've become addicted to a strawberry milkshake powder with added vitamin D3 so are getting through milk rapidly, local shop opens at 6am so I can replenish stocks. It tastes gorgeous.

SilkieRabbits · 12/11/2020 06:06

I woke up at 4.17am and discovered I still had mulled wine and chocolates left so I have been drinking and eating those as it's a new days allowance.

Just heard a crash which sounded like an old blind cat though she will want me to pretend I heard nothing.

DH said the guy started the gas check but couldn't complete it and needs to come back on Saturday but he gave him the keys and said he will drop them off at EA. The EPC survey guy didn't turn up as had wrongly booked in for Thursday so DH has rearranged that for Mon 23rd November same as electric check. Just hope we don't get covid though DS normally keeps his distance being ASD, its just the hygiene aspect though I get him to put gel on once home and he says he avoids school toilets so hopefully OK. Plus he says his deep breathing in a mask guarantees he can't have covid. Grin

Frownette · 12/11/2020 06:22

Silkie oh it's funny when they do that, they look all indignant and pretend it hasn't happened. It wasn't me. No. Certainly not.

HelenaJustina · 12/11/2020 06:25

I just looked at the kitchen clock and nearly had a heart attack as it says 2.45am. I really wasn’t sure whether I was misreading and it was 6.45 (making me late) or 2.45 (making me very very early!) the soothing tones of the Today programme on Radio 4 reassured me.

Spudlet · 12/11/2020 06:59

I should be getting up and going for a run, but instead I am procrastinating on mumsnet and am still in bed.

Frownette · 12/11/2020 07:08

Spudlet wise decision.

ReallySpicyCurry · 12/11/2020 08:29

I think I might defrost the fridge today, but on the other hand I might not, because I've never done such a thing before. The freezer drawers are getting hard to close though

PenguinsOnParade · 12/11/2020 08:39

DDog has a limp today but only when he catches us watching him. He's perfectly fine when he's running to catch a biscuit or playing with his toys.

DH has the day off and his plan was to get housework done while I'm working, which of course means he's fallen asleep on the sofa instead as he's been so used to waking up early for work this week. It's still early though so I won't wake him just yet.

Frownette · 12/11/2020 08:53

Actually @MissConductUS why your username? You seem eminently sensible to me!

I can go back home now COVID testing palaver over. I couldn't beforehand just in case I needed to be tested too and might have infected my housemate. I may have said this before on this thread, I'm highly boring repetitive.

Champagneforeveryone · 12/11/2020 09:03

I am going to collect my new glasses later. This is a relief as I broke my last pair and am now 100% reliant on my contact lenses.

Have just emptied the dishwasher and added more water to my new (to me) fish tank. Back to work this afternoon.

Redburnett · 12/11/2020 09:09

Yesterday I washed the bed linen and got it almost dry on the line outdoors.

sueelleker · 12/11/2020 09:11

@MissConductUS; those pants look lovely, but apart from the fact I don't run, you really wouldn't want to see me in them. I'm quite the wrong shape!

Frownette · 12/11/2020 09:30

I can't quite take to the word pants, I think of that as being knickers

Yippeeforme · 12/11/2020 11:56

On my dentist's advice, I am currently teaching myself to not grind my teeth. Not easy this year as it's my stress habit 😂

Yippeeforme · 12/11/2020 11:57

To add to the pants discussion, I do love "Oh, pants!" as a profanity!

TenCornMaidens · 12/11/2020 13:05

My husband is building a wardrobe for my daughter. I have been wrapping Christmas presents. Ought to eat lunch really.

Taswama · 12/11/2020 13:06

The meaning of pants can be quite regional @MissConductUS . In the North pants is frequently used to mean trousers (as I discovered when I went to uni) but its just underpants in the south. Pants are worn by men, knickers are worn by women.

Taswama · 12/11/2020 13:07

I also like 'that sounds pants' @Yippeeforme

Frownette · 12/11/2020 13:17

I was given some pink silk hair ribbons earlier. On a whim I put my hair in bunches with them. I'm a middle aged teenager.

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 12/11/2020 13:28

I watched the strictly tribute to Vera Lyn and blubbed like a baby. Very cathartic! I never watch that show but it was on the bbc news site. 😭

Helocariad · 12/11/2020 13:35

I'm on my lunch break, working from home. Sipping my coffee and contemplating doing some knitting before my break is over.

R4 news is talking about Don Trump jr- he sounds delightful Hmm

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 12/11/2020 13:36

Me too - what a jackass!
